LOVE having this BBSHD on my Gravity fixed gear fatbike! I've got it setup with a 52V Luna Wolf battery and opted for the (incredibly good) eggrider display. Stock was 32T/22T (1.45 ratio) and I bought a luna 36T front ring and bought a 17T Surly rear sprocket from nashbar. the new 2.1 drive is hard to pedal with zero assist, but just eats everything in its path when given a little assist. Drive over curbs. Up stairs. 30mph just using the throttle on a 50+ fatbike! I love this thing, it's gotten me back outside and riding again! Hands down one of the most entertaining purchases i've ever made. Like riding a dirtbike, just a bit slower and way less noticable!

These crank arms should come on the bike stock. I was getting a ridiculous amount of pedal strikes on the stock crank arms. I have still had some strikes with these cranks but far less than the stock arms.

I created my Surly Electric Fat Karate Monkey mountainbike with the BBSHD kit. The kit came beautifully packaged and mounted easily on my bike with the 44-tooth chainring. It’s paired with a Nexus 3-speed hub and 54-volt 20ah battery. This is a climbing monster that can hit over 28mph on the flats. Totally upgraded my experience on the trail. Total bike build is under $2k.

I LOVE these shorter crank arms. In my opinion they are a necessary upgrade. My old cranks look like they were bashed on rocks over and over. I have yet to have a single pedal strike since changing these out. Fantastic upgrade.

Fat bike motobecane night train bullet 2021 bbshd 120mmbb

Good motor! I live on top of a hill with steep gradient and it pulls awesome. If your bike runs 4.8 inch tires you're probably going to need a 120mm bb. My bb is 100mm but the fitting around the chain stay and chain ring would've hit. Getting the 120mm I was able to clear it and have enough room for new luna chain ring to center chain line. Highly recommend the combo.

The replacement controller is working great. I tuned the settings to my liking using the Bafang Config Tool and programming cable. What surprised me is that my throttle works smoothly even while pedaling. I had learned to live with that throttle bug on my old controller but this was a nice surprise!

bought the wrong part. Oh well. Still have it just in case.

An unusually pleasant chime for a bike bell. It's not bright or harsh sounding

I love my X1 so far, it handles great and the suspension is very plush. I love the torque sensing Bafang motor. I upgraded to the silent gear option, and am glad I did. This motor is still a little louder than my BBSHD motor, but the torque sensing makes up for a little louder motor.
Overall bike is amazing!

My only complaint is that the battery charger they shipped with the bike is defective and I can't get Luna to follow up about my problem with the defective battery charger. If I can't charge the battery, I can't ride the bike. Please follow up with shipping a working battery charger to me.
I am hoping for better customer service soon!

I could not have installed the mid-drive without this tool. Essential!

I'm a first-time eBike builder. It took me a while (and a lot of YouTube viewing) to get the mid-drive installed, but I am very happy with the results. I have the 750W configuration running right now and it's more than enough power for the type of cycling I do and the massive torque makes even the steepest hills disappear.

Chain ring works perfectly and looks great

Bike is awesome. Especially for the price. I will be buying another. My kids call me a super hero on the bike and I feel like one. I often pass cars on streets going up hill. Only complaint is that controller sometimes disconnects and shuts off. Also rubber flap covering charging area should be more robust and is in a terrible location. This is the primary location where mud is thrown and gets covered in debris from a muddy ride. I cover it with duct tape now to keep it clean. Guessing since the bike designers are in CA, they don’t deal with mud like we do in GA. Also should come with an optional larger tooth drive sprocket as standard. Once you ride the bike you will figure out which one you want. I will be ordering the bigger one because I like to go fast.

The Luna X1 is absolutely awesome. I received the bike about 2 weeks ago and have put about 200 miles on it. I am still getting used to it and am loving my rides. I was happy to see you guys switched to a 38 tooth front sprocket opposed to the 32. I do have quite a few pedal strikes but I'm not sure I want to switch to shorter arms. I am 5'11 with a 30 inch inseam and went with the meduium and the bike feels a little small to me. I'm going to swap out the stem for something a little longer so that should work. I am actually surprised with the power and this things climbing ability. Crazy fun. Anyway, I couldn't be happier with the bike. If I was building this bike I would go with lighter rims and a tubeless tire and I would go with 29 inch tires to give it a little more clearance. I can't clear some logs that I used to clear on my 29er. Overall a very nice product!

Just got my X1 today. The X1 came with a 38 tooth chain ring which was a nice surprise as I was planning on upgrading it. All the gears shifted smoothly out of the box and I just had to add a little air to the shocks to get the sag right. I have a 2021 Specialized Turbo Levo that’s had the speed limit removed and I rode that and my friend rode the X1. We went 15 miles up and down hills. She smoked me up every hill with the X1, even though on regular mountain bikes I am a way stronger and faster rider I found impossible to keep up. When we returned the X1 had 81% battery remaining and the Turbo Levo had 74% since I had to have it on the highest assist to even stay close while she used mostly level 3 assist and occasionally used 5 up the steeper climbs. Though the specialized is smoother and quieter the Luna being half the price and more powerful is an amazing value. The Luna X1 is top notch and if you can get your hands on one you won’t be disappointed. I bought the standard 750 watt X1 without the noise reduction gear and didn’t find the X1 that loud at all. Now if I can only find a place to mount a water bottle cage.

These look pretty sharp and provide a handling improvement while on-road. The only issue is that the wheels were delivered slightly out of true and needed balancing, however Luna was happy to help in that regard. Overall worth it.

Love the bike. For the price you pay you get a very competitive bike that can easily compete with brand name bikes.

This is definitely worth the money. It makes the rear wheel stick to the ground better over roots and bumps. Also it no longer bottom outs on landings
