The Eclipse 42T chainring for my Bafang 1000W mid drive worked perfect. It aligned the chainring to the cluster right down the middle, and works nicely with the 10 speed cluster. Very nice machining and finish. 180 miles with no problems.

Ordered this Luna ring in 42t. Chain line is good all though I had to use a spacer between motor and the ring to keep the chainring from hitting the frame. Maybe I'll go with 40t next time. I would recommend...

This arm works very well to make the motor stable and keeps it from getting loose.

This little battery is a perfect addition on a ride to avoid the dreaded fear of battery drain. It's saved my butt once already. It's good for taking short trips where I might have to lift my bike.

Luna solved my issues with a controller that wasn't working very quickly and effectively. I appreciate them having so much knowledge and information with diy e-bikes. Thank you!

Received my Luna Apocalypse V3 Jan. 6th. I was not able to put together for a few weeks. Got it put together the 22nd. A few small issues, front brake line was bent, and cracked. So no front brake. Can’t get headlight to operate either. But I’m here to tell you, this machine rocks. Pulls hills with ease, very smooth operation. Other than the two issues, I would definitely suggest this scooter for experienced riders. Hope to get brake and headlight issue worked out.

No more broken belts!

Motor was making a weird grinding noise and didn't have power. Checked that all the gears were in good order so the problem was probably the motor. After reading forums they mentioned using a throttle in a too high gear (which I do often) causes these types of problems. Replaced the motor core and now it works great!

Exactly as described and expected. No disappointments at all. How often do you get to say that? The quality and robustness of the build is obvious. I am 200 lbs and the suspension felt plush and compliant out of the box. I will probably firm it up a bit, but it felt fine on my gentle offload test ride.
I almost bought a Zero FX last year, but it was just too big and heavy for my purpose. But mountain bike derived bikes with bicycle chains, shifters, and detailers are just too fragile and finicky for me. This bike seems the perfect balance between the two. I am very pleased with my purchase and with Luna Cycle.

First bike i have owned and no regrets. Awesome machine, picked up the extra battery and pedal kit to make it supposedly legal here in MS. No run-ins yet though. Pedal kit kinda sucks but legal is legal, definitely suggest upgraded pedals as does everyone else that needs the pedal kit. Just wish we could get the kits like Europe with the turn signals in place of the wireless setup. Now to figure out how to mount that second battery...

I have 600 miles on my Apollo at this point and I have to say this bike is amazing. I'm on Long Island in New York , we have a lot of top notch, fast single track trails here and the Apollo has made them more fun then I could have ever imagined! Had a previous hub motor e bike from Evelbike, in comparison that was like pedaling a bus through the woods, and forget about jumping it , I was afraid it would break in half . The Apollo has been everything i imagined in an e bike and more !! I can say with all confidence this is the best E-bike available at any price !! I say to people looking at this, put your name on the list and the second Luna E mails you Order it !! You will not be disappointed! From the second i opened the box i knew this bike was amazing! Not only does it look Stellar, it rides even better! I respectfully ride all the local trails and have had no issues whatsoever from other riders. Most people are intrigued and cant believe how fast you can go uphills . Me personally, I can't believe how light the bike feels when riding, you cannot even tell its an e-bike. I have riode ten mile loops without even turning power on , bike rides that well!! Please if you are considering an e-bike do not overlook the Apollo, it truly is an incredible machine! In conclusion If your budget is a little tighter you can also consider the x-1 from Luna another bike which in my opinion is more then enough e-bike for most average riders. If your Hardcore.... the Apollo is the bike !!

My Dear Apollo

I began riding ebikes 5 years ago after not riding any sort of bike for 20 yrs.

Got inspired by a an Indiegogo purchase of two of the cheapest most under powered and heavy Storm (Indiegogo 26x5 Fatty) ebikes without even considering the cost ($1000 for 2) or the performance (350W,79lbs). ok… What did I know?

The ebike adventures started with learning how to ride all over again on a mountain track near Ft. Meade, MD.

I sold the Storms soon after I grew tired of having to walk the single geared ebike up hills.

I bought and sold the European slow no joy Haibikes (27.5x4) after meeting Chad from Electricity Bikes and he was the one that suggested I buy the Luna Cycle kit (1,000W TYVM). Mid-mounted on a Jamis DragonSlayer. Awesome hardtail. Many many miles. Wanted a full suspension 29r and kept the monster Canadian Juggernaut Ultra FS (29x3), but it wasn't until I rode the Apollo that I knew that I would never need another ebike again.

Handsome as it is powerful. I easily reach 30mph in the middle gears (throttled). In its lowest gears you can pop a wheelie even if you don't want one and if you don't have your hand on the rear break you will knock yourself off the bike. Power is not a problem. Apollo can climb and dance.

Modifications: Of course as the rebellious ebike single track rider I am the first thing I swapped out was, yes you guessed it, the seat. Soft! thank you very much :) I have also applied "Shine Armor" to the frame and battery in hope to preserve and keep the beauty of this incredible ebike. When standing I rarely see that people recognize the Apollo as an ebike. Yes of course it is obvious but not too obvious. Ride graciously.

As much as I like the Maxxis brand if you are riding in the woods you need knobs, the Chronicles felt to me to be a good all-around tire but lacks the grip recovery that I so desire, I purchased the Minion DHRs Plus. Because I hate changing tires in the wilderness I added Cush-Core front and back. Little bit more weight but I only weigh 165lbs, so it is not an issue.

My first and most satisfying experience with this bike is the operating capital or distance I can ride in the heaviest conditions. In every ebike I have ever owned I purchased two batteries. The Apollo cannot swap out batteries but it is not necessary. The terrain and elevation changes where I ride seem to have limited impact on the battery performance. I will get tired before the battery runs out of juice. I normally ride 13 single track miles and with the Apollo I can ride this same trek twice without a recharge and still have enough power to run the dog when I get home. Fantastic.

I use the throttle 90% of the time. I play Ultimate Disc frequently and need to conserve ATP, so an ebike on a mountain...Oh joy. And never having to push the bike up hill. I'm a Colorado native so I am well aware that the elevation changes we have here in flatland is more like a hill than a mountain. Patapsco meet Apollo. Apollo meet Patapsco.

Transport: I knew the moment I bought the Apollo, that my bike rack would not support the unique frame/battery combination. I almost bought a roof rack but the idea of lifting a 60lbs bike over my head didn't seem reasonable. I decided on the Saris SportRack so I can use the trunk mounted Thule. Works fine. I was concerned the dropper post might not like it but I do not see any issues at all with this configuration. I place a rag or pad in between the SportRack and the Thule.

First off, these Sur Ron bikes are an absolute blast! I've been riding motorcycles since I was 4. Besides doing triple digit speeds in the dirt on my old 950ADV, this is the most fun I've ever had in 2 wheels! The bikes are durable, quick, and easy to customize for fit and ride preference. I've been able to ride in a bunch of areas that had been closed to my gas bikes, which is awesome, and now my neighbors don't mind me practicing wheelies and stoppies in front of my house! Luna has been fantastic to deal with. My bike arrived faster than I thought possible, and the hop up parts and spares I've ordered have arrived just as quickly! If you're on the fence, just hit that order button!

Unit appears to be good quality for application. Question forwarded to Luna asking about bike mount resulted in them recommending another vendors unit for the application. That has to say a lot about the company. Unit arrived well packaged and does exactly as expected. Very good alternative to more expensive unit with exception it is fixed voltage to specific battery but at a 28% price point compared to other unit. Thank you Luna for a cost effective quality alternative!
