Big, badass battery. Luna did it again!

Absolutely love the bike. We bought 3 of them and ride them 3x a week

Always good to have spare parts available when needed. Shipment was fast and received them just in time to complete the project.

Went on fine after some light bending and hole widening to fit a 73mm wide bottom bracket on my full suspension Rocky Mountain element. Motor has been holding firm after dozen of rugged mountain trail poundings. I also made DIY o-ring out of intertube to place between the bottom bracket and stabilizer since there as not enough room for the orig. bafang stabilizer. This is better as it has stopped gouging the frame.

I rode my friends Bosch powered bike and loved the concept so I researched e-bikes and decided to do a kit. The kit was the BBSHD mid drive, shark 52v 13.5ah, gear sensor and brake lever sensors with the 750c display from Luna. Shipping was quick, packaging was extremely well done and complete. I installed it on a new Framed Alaskan fat tire bike. Installation was extremely easy and fast. I went the kit route so I could custom tune the program. Bike weighed 33lbs before and 55lbs after. Very impressed on how smooth the pedal assist and throttle work. The bike is for my wife who loves to ride but has knees that are starting to bother her.

I like the BBS02 kit, the only problem I have is, at top speed I feel a little grinding or binding noise.
The gear motor is greased, so I am thinking maybe the chain needs some oil. I read somewhere that it’s also good to shorten the electrical wires going from motor to battery. Maybe my long wires are creating resistance at top speed?

Put it on my Giant Talon 29, no real problems installing it. It is beyond fast. in high gear under full throttle with a teeny bit of down grade and pedalling my ass off (seriously, here in Florida we have no hills.) I was able to hit 40mph. Under motor only top speed seems to be around 34mph. Power usage is a bit higher than a hub motor but that is to be expected. Low end torque is scary, it will wheelie from a stop. I have monitored the power used at speed in different gears but haven't noticed a big difference. Handling is much better than a hub motor too. Disc brakes are highly recommended since this thing can really get going. Brake cut off switches too. Pedal assist is ok I guess. I find it easier to set the cruise control and help out a bit if I so desire. Speaking of cruise control, it is right up there with sliced bread. The half grip throttle is a bit awkward but set the cruise and forget it. The cruise switch can be any momentary contact SPST switch. Throttle response is wonky. Nothing for about a third of a turn the it hits strong. I understand there is a fix and I will try that soon. Overall it is everything I wanted it to be and more. More beastly then refined but it does fine.

Love mike bikes sent in review already, this is to try and send photos. one bike is Surly 9 ZERO 7 the other is a Haro beach cruiser that is very light.

I now have 2 E bikes, one built with BBSHD mid drive on a Surly 9 ZERO 7 with an 11 speed Shimano internal that’s not needed, most of the time I just keep it in 5th gear. There are a couple of very step hills on trails coming up from the beach that I use low gear and in the deep sand. My other bike is a Haro cruiser with a BBS02 and Luna Wolf Pup battery pack, the bike is very light and I use it for short rides a long the beach path or to the coffee shop. I will try and up load pictures not sure how to do this.

in summary, i love this beautiful bike ! i'd give a 5 star for the performance of this bike, but there are still space for improvements, so here are a few things about this bike, good and bad :

1. the design of this bike is absolutely beautiful, the suspensions are great, the Chinese sure know how to make bikes !
2. the webpage says this bike can go over 40 miles per full charge, but my experience tells me it can go ~65 miles if i use EP mode (equivalent to eco mode for other ebikes), which is the perfect mode for commuters, sport mode is useless for me, so is the brake-regen feature in sports mode. also, unlike some other ebikes, the sur-ron ebike battery is portable, which is great, cuz i can just recharge it indoor and leave my bike outside.
3. tail light is not bright at all, so i had to purchase other USB-rechargable tail lights myself
4. it's simply hard to find a place to mount my tail light and turn signals, so i had to machine a piece of metal and screw it onto where the original tail light is, so i can have enough space to mount my own super bright tail light and turn signals !!! lunacycle, i love u guys, but pls address this issue !!!
5. last but not least, the question about street legal. i guess everyone would have this concern whether it is street legal. all i can tell u guys is that, lunacycle claims that its max speed is 20mph,with a 750 watts motor, and the Chinese manufacturer says 20km/h & 168watts (if i remember correctly), and the manual that came with my package reads 20 mph & 250 watts...so, lunacycle, pls, for customers' sake, GET YOUR STORY STRAIGHT !!!

It’s awesome

This bike is extremely fun to ride. However , the stock brakes are completely inadequate. I think the bike should come with a proper set of brakes . It feels dangerous going 40+ mph without being able to stop quickly. I already ordered a set of hope brakes for the front. Other then the underpowered brakes I think this bike is awesome. I would suggest that future models come with higher quality brake systems.

It's a thing of great beauty and a joy to own. But for my dealings with my customs office I would buy one for all my projects.....I have never dropped a chain with this chain ring...Ever..The only downside is that you best check the bolts on occasion as they can to loosen off if not tighten properly....Of course we all check our bike bolts as a matter of good practice.....Don't we.. I highly recommend this high quality, arty farty , piece of engineered bling.
