This bike is silent, solid, and climbs like a beast.

This is my second lunacycle bike, and my first bike with plus sized 27.5" x 3" tires (they look somewhere between a standard MTB tire and a fatty). The plump tires took a little getting used to at first, but for a hardtail ebike they work well because they give both extra traction and extra cushion, and they hold the additional weight of an ebike well. Also, they roll up and down things like a 29er, which is sweet. Overall, they're a little more like motorcycle tires, and they make the bike climb and descend well, while helping it feel very stable at high speeds.

Pros:

First off, I love the geometry of this bike. I'm 5'8" around 150lbs and the medium (17") fits me perfectly.

The bike climbs like a beast. BBSHD power is amazing.

After over 100 miles on this bike, I really dig the extra traction, cushion, and rolling power of the 3" tires.

The frame, fork, and components are all excellent (I dig the dropper seat post)!

Love the 500c display --works much better than my old one.

Love the Luna eclipse 42T chainring. It's gives enough speed on flats and roads, yet still makes climbing possible, and doesn't throw the chain.

The 52V Luna Wolf battery is amazing. It's a bit heavier (almost 3 pounds more) than my previous 48V shark pack, but it gives much more consistent high power. It feels bombproof and the magnetic attachment is super solid.

My old ebike was constantly creaking, rattling, and jarring. The white wolf is solid, silent, and smooth.

Only two cons to be aware of:

--The chainring comes very close to the frame. In fact, it shaved off some of the excess weld on the first ride (see photo if I can attach one). I don't think this will be an issue, though, as it doesn't dig into the tube at all.

--However, even with the impressive offset the luna eclipse 42T ring gives, the chain alignment still favors the high gears a bit. As a result, the top 2-3 gears on the 11 gear cassette are hard to get the chain to stick on. So, of the 11 gears, about 8-9 are usable. Not an issue most of the time, unless you're heading up a steep uphill (in which case getting a smaller chainring will be your friend). But if you do a bit of road riding, commuting, and flats, you'll want the 42T eclipse ring to get you up over 30mph.

Bottom line --if you're looking for a kick-ass hardtail, with a frame and components that are a big step up from the Alite bikes, and BBSHD and 52V power that will blow all the competitors away, this bike is for you. A great all around trail, hardcore commuter, off-road, and all weather bike.

Kit was fine, not the highest quality tools but good starter kit for the price. The shipping took close to 3 weeks. I had to call before it got shipped. I was told the parts were on back order. When I order on the website everything that was on back order stated so, and the kit did not. But they managed to ship it the same day I called to check on it. $15 shipping charge for 3 week wait from 3 states away. Felt like they forgot about me. Customer service responded promptly to my email, so I appreciate that.

Love the pedals about to order kit for my bike and possibly buy a luna built bike also

So far I love the bbhd. Joel has been very helpful and took the time and patience for questions I had.

Great, bombproof product

second build with luna, first still going strong after 3 years, works fine!

Great bike! Stealthy, just like the name implies. Light - so much so that it can easily be ridden without any electric assist. Not only is this helpful if you run out of juice far from home, but it also helps stretch the range. I use full assist only going uphill, and I can get about 25 miles on one charge. The bike is very well built. And simply a lot of fun to ride! I'm really happy with my Luna Fixed!

Fun like no two wheels ever before. I can do things on this bike that no motorcycle can. I expected to be happy with it prior to getting it. Little did I know that I'd be all kinda giddy over its performance. Thought it was a toy but underestimated the joy.

Great bike. Great service.

Very fast delivery and fantastic parts :)

I got the product I wanted at a good price. However once again Luna put a signature requirement on my package even though I stated directly that I did not want this. As a result it took three weeks to get my product and I ended up having to drive 100 miles to the closest UPS center to pick it up. I paid extra for expedited shipping too.

I am the proud and satisfied owner of the following bikes, ordered from Luna.

1-Stealth
2-Sur-Ron X
1-Banana
1-Sur-Ron

Each of these 5 bikes arrived quickly and were a snap to assemble. The staff at Luna is exceptional. They are prompt, informative and friendly.
I am a happy customer and will continue to purchase from Luna.

Extremely pleased with all the products I’ve purchased from Luna.

All os alright

After I ripped the speed sensor out of my BBS I was very glad to get a new controller quickly. I was surprised to find only Luna Cycles had what I needed in stock. Price and shipping time to Europ was competitive with European suppliers.

Product is sturdy and delivered quickly. I used it to install a bbshd.

Really Needed on your Sur Ron

Amazing

Just a word about my experience dealing with Luna. Having two bikes with Bafang builds it's a steady stream of upgrades and parts. Your forums are an awesome knowledge base and prices are the best around. I'm 80 yrs old, can't drive because of sight problems, but the bikes keep the dog and I mobile. Thanks for the great work, and wishing you great success for the future.

I found the Sur Ron with the X controller and the 48 tooth sprocket just a little to fast (top speed) for the trails, and not quite spunky enough to pull wheelies with my 190 lbs weight. So I ordered the 60 tooth sprocket, and now I wish there was a 54 or 56 tooth sprocket. I know, splitting hairs but I think that would be the perfect ratio for the mountain trail drives I like. Most of all though, I wish there was a belt drive ratio to match. I wouldn't mind putting out the extra $ for the quiet aspect on the mountain trails.
I absolutely love the bike by the way!!
