I also have the Lansky system but working with the Benchstone is much simpler. The Lansky system is also difficult to use with small blades, such as traditional pocket knives. Ive used the Benchstone on both small blades and chefs knives with satisfactory results. If a blade needs a total makeover, I start with the coarse diamond stone, counting strikes until I get a burr on one side. Then I do an ealqual amount of strikes on the other side, followed by alternating perhaps 10-20 strokes on the fine diamond stone and finally the ceramic stone. Your knives will get as sharp as you want it all depends on how much time youre willing to spend on each one, believe me when I say that I have sharpened many knives almost razor sharp. I got myself a magnifying glass that has a light and that has helped tremendously with seeing the previous angles although if you have good eyes ( like I used too ) it isnt necessary. The only downside is that unless you can scribe or mark your knife blade somehow when its in the clamp its almost impossible to get it in the same position as your previous sharpening and you will not be able to get the exact same edge without a little extra effort. I found that if I mark the cutting edge with something that will wash off for instance a sharpie so that you can see how the stone hits and taking a picture of the blade in the clamp with my phone so I can get the blade very close to where it was on the previous sharpening this makes it easier and faster to achieve the same angles and results. I liked this sharpener so much I have purchased them for my sons also. So it definitely depends on how much effort and time you spend to get the best results. 5 stars for the results and 3 stars for how the blades fit into the clamp. If they had wider clamps for longer blades and a small clamp for pocket knives and some way to measure each one so you can precisely clamp the same blade the same way as in the previous round then I would give it 5 stars all around. In conclusion its well worth the money, take your time and you will be very pleased with how sharp your knives are BUT BE CAREFUL when you use them THEY ARE SHARP!

I've owned a few other sharpeners and had mixed results. I just sharpened two kitchen knives on this system and am very pleased with the Elite. The edge that I attained on my first try is better than what was returned from my last "professional" sharpening service. This unit is the perfect intersection of performance and price for my needs, which is keeping 5 kitchen knives and a pocket knife nicely honed. I recommend purchasing the Professional Precision Adjust if you do much more sharpening than this and have large and/or pen knives. The larger abrasive surface of the Pro model will save you time and justify the price. All in all, this unit works exactly as promised. My learning curve was greatly reduced by reading the instructions and watching a few videos on YouTube.

I am thrilled with the Precision Adjust Elite kit. I have never been able to get knives as sharp as I can with this system. Not only that, the edge is almost mirror polished when done. I hope to get the new Pro rig soon. Thank you for making knife sharpening idiot proof!

I've had this sharpener for a few months and I wish I would of bought it sooner, it gives you a very sharp edge. I highly recommend this product. I have used it for pocket knives and kitchen knives and so far perfect edge every time.

Nothing like putting an EXACT profile on a knife. I do the dirty work on a reprofile with my Ken Onion, then dial it in with my Precision Adjust Elite. I get 420 HC and S35VN really sharp. Diamond stones are great. Buck 120 or Henkels chef knife are about all I would put this through, but those are long blades anyway. Very glad I went with the elite to get the extra stones.

I've had never officially sharpened a knife before (except for trying a "V" shaped, pre-set angle type). By my 2nd knife, I was turning out hair shaving sharp blades! And, this was with the basic version of the Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener. If I had it to do over, I would have just bought the Elite version to begin with. But, I'm getting the upgrade kit and I can't wait to see an even sharper blade with a mirror finish - not to mention a nice case to transport everything.

Fantastic tool!Recently bought the WorkSharp Elite at my local outdoor store as I needed a replacement and upgrade to my worn out pull thru that I had been using. With a few minutes of work I was able to put a mirror on my good knives and rework some of my older hunting knives to a beautiful edge. Owned for about 2 months and so far I am very pleased with the precision adjust knife sharpener. For the price point I think you would be hard pressed to to find a better product. It takes patience but with time you can hone a knife to a razors edge.

I have used many knife sharpening systems. Dollar for dollar this beats them all and is now my go to over he Wicked Edge. My knives are consistently shave-sharp. Easy to use. Easy to set up and produces consistent results.

Purchased this sharpener on Amazon. Used it today for the very first time. I sharpened three pairing knives to a razor edge. Very easy to use. Take your time. Let the stones do the work. My only complaint is that I wish it had a third set of stones. A 1000 grit and a 3000 grit. Would cut the sharpening time down. Definitely a thumbs up.

This is one fine and dependable tool!After investing a small amount of time watching videos and practicing on my old worn out kitchen knives, I finally advanced with confidence to fine tune my more expensive Damascus display knives. Knife edges are better and sharper than when purchased new!

I have had my sharpener for sometime now. I have NEVER found a better way to sharpen every knife I own. And I own Many many knives. I am so very impressed with the system. I unfortunately need to get new stones and a more aggressive stone for my knifes. I have used it so many times. It's no longer any abrasives left on the 2 sides. I began making my own knives and found the Damascus blades are very hard to sharpen. But I will NEVER use a different sharpening system again.

Purchased this to keep all my knives sharp. I have an issue with blade clamp; due to a medical issue I can't get knivees clamped down enough to keep them from moving at exreme ends of knife blade. I'd suggest a larger wheel for better clamping, also the base is too light and needs a method to attach the base to a board, a vice, or a work bench. My sharpening has provided good results but other Work Sharp units are easier to use.
