This tool very simple to use, and to the point. I keep this one in my tackle box when I go fishing. Love the grove for my hooks. Keeps my filet knife razor sharp, and pocket knives honed in. Awesome compact design, highly recommend to have in your tool box!

Wow! Take this with you wherever you go. I have owned many types of sharpeners, and some I have taken with me hunting and camping but none have been as versatile as the Pivot Knife Sharpener. Every time I turn it over, it seems that there is another type of sharpener on this device or another item that can be sharpened.First thoughts of this device are that it is surprisingly light for everything that it has. It is well engineered and durable. It has slip resistant pads on the contact surfaces to help secure the sharpener as you use it. It has finger notches to help secure the sharpener as you touch up your blades and tools. There is a convenient lanyard hole to secure it to your tool belt, hunting or fishing vest or wherever you need in order to keep it with youThis small but capable sharpener has three types/levels of sharpening.1. Carbides for quickly restoring the edge2. Ceramic Rods for honing the edge to a much finer finish3. Diamond Plate for placing an edge on hard to sharpen edges like axes, hatchets, hooks, chisels or whatever edge needs to be refined.Dont just get this for yourself, this would be a perfect present for that special somebody on your list that already has everything. I keep mine in the truck, or in my pack when I go outdoors, hiking, fishing and camping... If a sharp edge is important to you, then this should be with you too.I have personally used it to touch up my machete that I frequently use to clear brush and cut kindling with. It restored the edge smoothly and uniformly along the whole length of the blade allowing me to quickly return to work without the need to go back to the shop for some other type of sharpening device. The compact size and ability to bring knives back make it the perfect tool to put in your camping/hiking/fishing/hunting bags. I had this with me on a camping trip and it saved the day when we were able to sharpen everyones knives, from pocket to kitchen to filet, and not worry about being able to cut paper clean let alone dinner. Ill be getting more of these for all of my various gear totes.

I have had several sharpeners along these lines before, none can match the Work Sharp Pivot. It makes sharpening and touching up my EDC knives a breeze.

I was sent this as an early reviewer and did not purchase the Pivot Knife Sharpener. For what its designed to do, it does flawlessly. Dont expect it to do everything perfectly, this is designed to be a compact sharpener that you can carry with you. I have it in the center console of my truck to touch up any pocket knives in the field. Its perfect for this type of roll. It can also sharpen fish hooks, so keeping one in your tackle box would also be a great idea. It could freshen up you hooks or filet knife wherever you are at. I saw another reviewer keeps it in an EDC bag, that or a bugout bag would also be great uses for this handy small sharpener. I personally found that the sharpener put on an extremely sharp edge and I had better luck keeping that sharp edge by skipping the honing side. Just remember, as you pass the knife edge through the sharpener, keep the knife at straight as possible, any wobble as you pull, will get the best possible edge. Great design and well thought out. Definitely a good purchase for the car, go bag, tool, or tackle box.

Leaving it in my hunting pack. Allows me to carry one knife. As an elk hunting guide I always carried extra knives to take me from field dressing to the skinning shed. Now I wipe the fat off the blade and run it through the convex carbide blades on pivot mode. I have the electric Work Sharp Original Knife and Tool Sharpener in the guide shack to perfect the edge between harvests. They are both quick and easy to use. No need to use replaceable blades and I get to enjoy my nice knives.

Great sharpener, perfect size for my blind bag. Took it on a recent waterfowl hunt to use on my filet knifes. Also use it to keep my my daily carry knives razor sharp.

Perfect sharpener to throw in a backpack or fishing vest. Easy to use and quickly puts a sharp edge on. The pivot response is a nice feature.

For the price point you cant really complain about the utility and ease this little sharpener brings to the table. I have waited to review this because I wanted put the sharpener to good use. The sharpener being small is a perk, I would say for the common guy that needs something for camping, hunting or fishing this would be ideal. The carbide angle with the the ceramic hone can put an edge on a knife quickly. The feature that allows the carbide to follow the users pull really help maintain a consistent draw. This really helped on a knife that had chips and nicks on the blade. The rubber on either side for grip also helps to maximize refining an edge. Only con that I found was that the red lock for the carbide side effects the grip for honing with the ceramic. If your looking for a razor edge or plan on using this on a high quality knife i would not recommend using due to the fact that carbide shaves a lot of metal off the knife. And due to the design you can only achieve an edge bevel which can loose sharpness quickly versus the rounded that the belt sharpener can achieve. Over all its awesome! This guy is in my camper for all those times i need to sharpen something quick.

Small and effective sharpener. Quickly cleaned up the edge on my hunting knife and EDC, restoring razor sharpness. Rubber footing keeps the sharpener from sliding while drawing the blade. Fingers are a bit close to the blade as you draw and could experience a nick if you're not careful. Works great and that doesn't detract from the overall rating.

This little gem is an amazing sharpener. I tested this one with high end Benchmade, Buck, and some of the low end quality knives. I tested both folding and sheaf knives. It really didnt matter what type I tried the pivot worked wonderfully. The ceramic hone brought back the edge in no time. I purposely dulled a knife by cutting through hard plastic until the edge was gone and the carbide slots sharpened it in no time. The fish hook sharpener did its job as well. The only complaint which is a small one is the sliding red lock for the pivot response can be a little stiff to slide back and forth. I enjoyed this sharpener and the size is small enough to carry in my pants pocket or keep in a tackle box . I expected nothing less from work sharp considering their other excellent products. Its two thumbs up for me.
