Work Sharp Micro Knife Sharpener and Tool
The two features that made me buy and carry WS pocket sharpening products were 1. a consistent and easily used angle guide; and 2. abrasive surfaces that are long enough to give me a good "slice" motion when sharpening - all while being as small and low-profile as practical. This little tool works as advertised when considering those two criteria, but just barely. If the angle guides were more pronounced, it would be much easier to use and would be unnoticeably larger. Comparing apples to apples, this tool's guides are only 1/4" in useable length, while WS's Pocket Sharpener's guides are double that at 1/2" - and I'll continue to carry the Pocket Sharpener afield while this little tool may end up in a glove box or somewhere else as a last resort. Regarding the length of the abrasive surfaces, I find my blades get much sharper when I perform a "slicing" motion between 45-90 degrees perpendicular to the axis of the blade. The tiny surfaces of this tool allow me to do that, but only by an inch of blade at a time. Again, the sacrifice in practicality to reduce the size of the tool makes it almost useless for me. I could see WS "shrinking" the design of the Pocket Sharpener to make a miniature version that might actually fit in a pocket, but it's abrasive surfaces would have to be 2" minimum in length to remain practical. This tool's abrasive surfaces are just over 1" long. Lastly, the on-board torx bits and driver are clever additions. However, I've never once had a problem with a knife's screws coming loose in the field or my pocket, so it seems excessive. I concede that a torx driver would be one of the most difficult things to improvise while afield, but blue threadlocker applied in advance would nullify any need for one. In the end, this sharpener is too small where it counts, and it would take up valuable pocket space with torx bits I would probably never use. I wish WS had just "shrunk" their Pocket Sharpener and/or their Guided Field Sharpener.

I found this unit to work well for pocket knife size blades. For the longer blades I'd prefer using one of the other Work Sharp tools. I do like the two different grits and the addition of the bits After I had this unit for a few days I was working on a rough trigger assembly and grabbed this unit. I found it to be the right size and feel for that type of job. It now has a home in my firearms tool kit.

The small size is great, for keeping your carry knives sharp. Tork bits to maintain knives is an excellent tool. The angle guides are great. The first time I used it my friend was here, now he wants to get one. They would make great gifts.

Very useful for hunting pack, especially like the addition of the torx bits for field maintenance. Found the sharpener easy to use for a quick field use.

Great product. The angle guides give you the ability to stay with a consistent edge and the torx bit idea is brilliant. Nice and compact, perfect for hunting pack or tackle bag.

Just an OK tool. A bit too small for larger bladed knives. The torx bits can be handy but I'm going to add some hex, phillips & standard bits as the driver itself seems rugged enough. Oh, it will touch up my 2 blade broadheads nicely so it will be included in my bowhunting bag.

Liked the tools very much and they fit my screws on my Benchmade. I used them on my serrated knife too and it worked well. Definitely going in my hunting pack.

The Micro Sharpener is really convenient, small enough to fit in any pocket so that it's always on you when you need to sharpen your knife. The bits that come with it make easy to fix your pocket knife. I'll probably put this on my key chain so I never forget it. I've used it a few times already at work to sharpen some of my coworkers knives and they were impressed at how easy and efficiently this little sharpener worked.

Great for keeping a sharp edge on your knives, like the idea for torx bits, but you could change to bits that would fit a scope mount too, think about it.

I added this to my pack and within the first two days it proved to me a life saver. I had a couple screws come loose while setting stands. I was able to fix my knife, keep it sharp and get everything ready for the hunt that weekend

Worked great but I ignored the directions and moved the sharpener on the blade. It is so small and when pulling the blade along, it forces you to one way or another, pull them blade towards yourself. The addition of the tool bits is something I didn't know I needed until now! Really great to be able to pull this out of my glove box & disassemble my pocket knife when I accidentally set it in something sticky was awesome!

Ok, so I was not in love with this sharpener initially. It was small, I felt like the angle guide at the ends of the honing and sharpening rods were in the way. After using it a couple times I totally changed my mind. Yeah it is small, kind of the point. I can stick this in my pocket, backpack, whatever no problem. I can put a ring on it and use it as my keychain. The guides also end up helping you keep your angle. The rods work better on smaller knives obviously but I did some longer knives in sections and it worked like a charm. I also absolutely love the torx bits and driver. Sometimes you feel something loosening up on your edc knife. Having the torx bits and driver lets you just tighten it up real quick no problem. I will say the bit holder in the center seems a little flimsy and I think a bit of usage popping it in and out will wear it out. All in all though, a great, guess you could say edc sharpener.

Note: I was given this product from Work Sharp in return for my honest review.Work sharps Micro Sharpener provides very small diamond and ceramic sharpening rods with angle guides and three sizes of torx bits with integrated driver for modern folder knife maintenance. Every aspect of the tool functions, and it appears to be listed for a reasonable price as of this 2019 writing. That said, the size and shape of the tool is less than ideal from my perspective. Again, the rods do sharpen but are tiny, and the torx driver is rather awkward due to overall tool shape. In my view, there may be better solutions to the problems this tool is trying to address for similar money; i.e., small pocket stone and 8-in1 precision torx screwdriver.Thank you Work Sharp for sharing your thought-out sharpening product. I enjoyed testing it, but find it is not the best tool for my specific field work purposes. ...though I'm sure it will work wonderfully for many others.

The size of this sharpener is great. I keep this in my pack for work. Since having this people have seen me touching up my blade and asked if they could use it. Every one that used it was impressed with the ability to have two sharpening surfaces and the torx bits. Everyone that used it to touch up there blade had to test the torx bits even if they didn't have anything loose. Large blades can be done on this compact setup it just takes a little patience to work small areas at a time. This is great for quick touch up, for this use they really nocked it out of the park.

Great little on the go sharpener. Having the bits included is great so I can have everything handy to deal with knife issues while out in the field. I'll be keeping this in my pack and for the price, picking up a couple more to keep them handy wherever I might need one.

I love this little guy it fits in a pocket or any small space in a bag or pack. I have used this on my fishing knives and found it to be just what the doctor ordered for those dull blades. The diamond stone takes the nicks out of the blade quickly and the ceramic stone works it into a fine tuned machine. I really enjoyed that it comes with the bits to tighten up those loose screws. It has come in handy many times while out and about from home. I would recommend this product to anyone that spends time in the outdoors, or works in the field. Because it works well and is so small. I will be making sure it is in my hunting pack for the upcoming deer hunt as well as in my tackle box when out catching those trout. Thanks Work Sharp for continuing to be so innovative.
