If you are a serious hiker, this is your jacket! If you hate stopping on the trail to layer and unlayer, this is your jacket. If you dream of a functional, comfortable hood, this is your jacket. This jacket is all it claims to be and then some. I hike through the winter high in the Rocky Mountains on difficult terrain and in all weather and this is the jacket I have always wanted. It stops the wind, sleet, snow and light rain while it breathes beautifully, dries quickly, and feels like wearing warm air. I pushed through fallen trees, dense under-brush and scraped over rocks without a mark on this jacket. Instead of putting on and taking off layers every few minutes, I just flip the hood up or down and zip or unzip while I keep hiking. Even climbing hard, I did not over-heat and stayed warm even sitting still. The hood stays put, doesn’t get in my eyes, and breathes so well that my head stays dry even when I’m sweating. Super light to pack, comfortable in temps from 20 to 40 with just a base layer, and does not turn into wet, lumpy misery under my pack. This jacket is my new best friend!

Don't get me wrong, I love a good crew sock but depending on the season and activity, a different option is really ideal. Insert the Trail 1/4 sock for anything from warm weather hiking trips to the office. Nice length as it comes up just barely over the ankle, light cushion which I prefer light/none, quality design and classic Paka appearance, and very comfortable.
