When I first saw the Paka thermal base layer top and bottom, I thought about waiting a bit before ordering...I'm glad I decided to just go ahead and order when I did. Both arrived when the late summer days were still hot, but the weather report said that an unseasonably early storm could hit the Wasatch Mountains where I was headed early the next morning into the Lone Peak Wilderness. I threw my new gear into my day pack for an early start for a long day and I was so glad I did. As the light rain turned to snow at about 9,000 feet, I pulled out my new thermal layer, and put both on trailside It was like a warm hug from then on throughout the rest of the day. And, when the sun came out, all I had to do was vent my rain jacket to regulate the temp. Great gear Paka!

The simplistic design is extremely important to me. The quality is outstanding just like their other products. Lightweight for easy storage and I would suggest on not just this product but any of there's to hand wash them first before wearing to feel how truly soft that they feel. I love this sweater! I got it for a hut-to-hut trek in September, and it was absolutely perfect. It was warm when needed, (we got hit by a surprise snow, and I was cozy with just it under my outer layer), and cool and breathable when needed. My hiking companions constantly needed to stop to adjust their layers, but I was perfectly comfortable in the ever-changing mountain weather. It's also nice to wear casually with jeans- I get a ton of compliments on it!

I used Paka’s sizing chart on their website and ordered large. They are quite baggy. I should have ordered medium. I would return them, but I assume that underwear are not returnable. Unfortunately, I ordered the three pack. I should have ordered just a single pair. I will have to wait until my budget can handle another purchase to try the medium to see if they fit better.
