Had a little bit of play with the new lever (there was some with the old one too) and these took care of it. New lever now fits better than the original. For technical spec, there were 4 in the pack and each was .004" thick.

Marlin 1894 Lever Loop Straight Grip Stock | Medium Loop (black)
Looks great on my JM 1895G. Finish matches the matte finish on the mounting lugs. No problems with installation. Used the optional shim kit, and the new lever fits better than the original. Much more comfortable than the original lever and there's plenty of room for thick gloves. Fast response to questions and extremely helpful. Highly recommend.

Thanks for your feedback. Usually our levers are .367 - .369. Sounds like you have one a smidge thinner. We'll send you some shims which will remove all of the slop.

It's been over a week since I called voicing my concern. I was shipped the wrong size compensator for my 44x Magnum Henry. Requested to be notified when back in stock initially. Decided to check the website a couple weeks later & luckily it was in stock so I bought it. Left a message after listening to a recording saying they were very busy & would get back ASAP. BUT SERIOISLY A WEEK WAIT.

Marlin 1894/S&W 1854 Loading Gate (Black) PISTOL CALIBERS ONLY
Excellent Quality, Price and Service. The video instructions were excellent and very helpful. Would recommend to everyone as it fixes a common problem with the Marlin lever actions. The stock OEM side gate is way to stiff and frequently has sharp edges.
