The groove was a bit long where it met up to the receiver so it wouldn’t seat flush. This caused the screws not to line up on the bracket. Had to file maybe a 1/16 off the back side where you can’t see it anyways. After 5 minutes of work it became my favorite gun. I love this part so much. It made it so my man hands could hold the gun, added no discernible weight, and made it feel 100% cooler. Even with the bit of work on my part this was worth every penny to me.

Great great product. Well machined. Would buy again in a heartbeat. But i think its gonna come back off and ill use that on a future Big Boy 357 and put the picatinny peep & mount combo on in its place. Ranger makes high quality accessories no doubt about it. And Btw if your putting this on a Henry Big Boy plan on putting on a lower (.310" tall) front sight. Got mine from Dawson Precision.

It looks fantastic however its not perfect. the three piece design is great for when its damaged so you only have to replace the affected panel, but if you hold it in the right spot and squish the side panels flex a little bit. the biggest gripe I have is not being able to use the loading port on the tube. its not a real problem because of the side gate and you can just open the whole tube but it would be nice if it had the option for a cutout in the bottom panel for loading.
In general i really like it for the customizability the rail adds but like I said, its not perfect
