It will not work for my marlin cowboy 1895 45-70. I wish it would work but tenon doesn’t line up with the hand rail no way to modify it so I’m stuck with getting a tactical marlin rifle! Love this set up tho

Hi James - Sorry for your trouble. Yes as noted on the product page, the the octagon barrels are too large to work with any of our handguards. That said, we do have Louthan Gunworks and others installing them on cowboy models and making the necessary modifications for $100 or so if that's of interest.

My vision made it difficult to use the buckhorn sights on my Henry Big Boy with much accuracy. I wanted to avoid mounting a scope. With the RP aperture sight I shot some good groupings at 50 yards. Next I’ll try a smaller aperture to see if it improves more.

The factory trigger pin lined up well with one big exception. Once the pin was fully inserted with the new trigger, there was not enough side clearance in the bottom plate trigger cut to rotate the new trigger back into proper position. The sides of the new trigger would bind against the sides of the trigger cut. I believe I am being generous in my rating because in all fairness to Ranger Point, I was attempting to install the trigger on a 2019 vintage Remlin 1895 Guide Gun. Who knows if the trigger cut dimensions on it are the proper tolerance. I have other JM Marlins but the trigger pull is ok on those so I didn't attempt to try the trigger on one of them. I do love the hammer extension that I also purchased from them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy other products from them. Their Customer Service is excellent!!! They processed my return expeditiously. I Pray they continue to be a very successful AMERICAN company.

Thanks for the input. We have seen this on a handful of rifles where the trigger plate opening as wide as normal and therefore not wide enough for our trigger's shoulder. If the trigger can not work in your specific rifle, please note that you may return it for a full refund.

M-LOK 45-70 cartridge holder | 450M Cartridge Quiver Six Rounds | 45 70 Ammo Holder
Product is great, but I found the attachment point via mlok would loosen after 5-6 rounds of 45-70 and it would begin to rattle. Hoping some blue lock tite will help, or the product will be returned.

Thanks for the feedback. The M-LOK t-nuts should stay tight if you use blue loctite.

Originally I tried the Cloverleaf peep sight. But, it seemed like I was shooting to the left. Yet, I had no more adjustment. Plus, I wanted the groups a little tighter. So, I tried the traditional peep sight, and I have no complaints. Because the aperture of the traditional peep is smaller than the Cloverleaf, I was able to adjust a little more for windage. And, I still was able to use the original front post.

The “blemish” was on the bottom. Sight works perfectly. Once mounted you can even see the garf in the finish anodizing.

Great quality and detail of product. Looks great on gun. Just wish the installation was slightly easier. Having to lap that middle steel tenet down to fit was tedious. Probably user error but I also bent mine because it was still slightly too tight when I tapped it in. But over all still a 5 star product when it was done I love the feel and look.
