I bought one of these for an old Marlin model 3080. I like to firepaint base metals to bring out the iridescent colors. I used a small propane handheld flame to heat the metal to well below it's melting temp to form the colorized metal crystals. The item's description claims it's made from aluminum. However when I put the end cap under the flame for 10 seconds it almost immediately began to bubble and melt without forming any color crystals. I opened a return case based on the fact that aluminum does not behave in this way, and appears to be a metal high in Zinc such as pewter or die case metal. My return request was denied by Kimberly Devine who "reaffirmed" that the material is 6061 aluminum, then said that I nullified any warranty by taking a "blowtorch" to it. Even though I never said I used a blowtorch, she put words in my mouth. A tiny fire painting torch should NOT have been able to heat the metal enough to melt/warp it unless the metal is mostly comprised of a metal with a low melting temp like Zinc. Even now, the item appears to be made from dye cast metal now that it's cooled. Either way, I refuse to believe this item is made from aluminum (it's just now physically possible), and Ranger Point is keeping my money and blaming me for the metal composition of their products that should NOT have melted at 700*F, much less under such short sustained flame.

Excellent quality and engineering. Quick shipping and Great customer service too!
Installing the M-LOK handguards is fairly straightforward if you have any mechanical aptitude, and watch the youtube videos. The rifle caliber Henry is easy, the pistol caliber requires taking the whole trigger assembly out, but otherwise not much to it.
