First, the handguard itself is great and looks fantastic. Strangely, no written instructions or parts lists are included with the product. You only have the videos to go on. The issue that led to the 4-star rating arose when I received a barrel band that was substantially visually different than the design featured (at the time) in the tutorial videos. Hard experience has taught me not to try a force-fit on a part that is different than what is expected. The initial response from RPP was confusing and unhelpful; especially since they did not acknowledge that a design change had even been made. It seemed like they were gaslighting over email. RPP only acknowledged that a design change had occurred, and that any differences existed at all, after I had discussed the matter with them on the phone. They have since updated the tutorial videos to reflect the new design. I hope they go a step further and include documentation in the future. Even a QR code to an illustrated online parts list or written instruction page would be an improvement.

The screw works well and makes it much easier to take apart, plus it looks great. Seems to be well made and comes with a lifetime warranty and they threw in a cool sticker. Thanks guys!
My only complaint which does not interfere with the function of the screw: is that no matter how hard I tried, when locked in/ tightened all the way down the image of the T-Rex is upside down. Still looks great and I’m already saving up for my next upgrade from RPP.

I changed out the Very Stiff loading gate on my Ruger Made Marlin 1894 .357mag for a Ranger Point Precision loading gate. A bit of fitting was required to make the new loading gate fit in the slot of the receiver. However the end result was a much easier loading rifle. I’m going to do my Ruger Made Marlin 1894 .44mag next.
I also added the Marlin 1894 lever rifle peep sight to the .357, made an already awesome rifle even better.
