Bought to muffle high frequency electric motor noise but seems to have minimal effect. Price point high for small noise reduction in engine compartment. All fiberglass surfaces were covered but sound still resonated in boat hull. Probably not a good product for my application after all.

Doesn’t stick well to foil backed material

I covered the engine door with the Second Skin Dampener, then the Heat Wave Pro, then put the original foam back in (cause why not??). Everywhere else inside the engine bay I used the Dampener. I also covered the Fuel compartment door with the Dampener which was 9 sqft. It's much quieter than before at idle/sunset cruise speeds making it easier to talk. And quieter when accelerating and at plane speeds. So all around I feel it was worth the investment. I really like that Second Skin is a reputable commercial brand, is rated to hold up to high temps, made in America, will act as a fire retardant, AND has great customer service.

I installed these as part of a speaker swap.

Install was easy- Gorilla Glue on the backside and a damp door panel.

Final result is a nice clean sound.

The Second skin installation was quick easy beautiful and transformative. Now our meeting spaces at Hotel Marcel are as quiet as they are beautiful.

EASY TO USE

I previously purchased overkill PRO, and just like the big brother the regular overkill performs wonderfully. With the smaller thickness it fits perfectly in those spaces I couldn't quite get the foam into. Annoying rattles are no more!

Many thanks to Second Skin for their advise on solving two known issues with my 2013 lexus ls460. Issue 1. Transmission whinning noise in the cabin when starting at a slow speed and lasting untill the car reached 40 mph. This is known lexus issue! I was to the point of trying to sale the car and then discovered the guys at second skin. They advised me to line the floor with their Dampliner pro and then a layer of their Luxury Liner pro. I MUST SAY THIS REDUCED THE NOISE TO THE UNOBJECTIONABLE LEVEL! if inwere to drop the transmission $$$ and put their products on the undercharage i expect the noise would be GONE. Issue 2. the fuel deliverly system on the Ls460 makes a loud ticking noise similar to a diesel engine that penetrates the firewall into the cabin. Most irritating when stopped with the enging running and in gear. ( I am told this injector noise is also found in serveal other high end luxury v8 autos.) The Lexus service guys say that is the way new engines function and to turn up the radio. NO WAY FOR ME. On a follow up call to second skin they suggested their Mega Block on the exterior firewall. OMG it too worked and rain water nor heat has a ill effect on the product. It reduced the diesel sound my my estimate 85 to 90%. whit some mechanical labor and 4 sq. feet of Mega block i think that nois too will be gone. as it is i find it non objectionable to most. **Are you hearing this Lexus! Please consider a TSB to help the many dismayed ls460 owners again enjoy a quite ride. I along with Second Skin have found a nice fix for the lack of proper sound insulation at the point of production. In ending i again after lots of research and work am a happy Lexus owner for the 5th time. john A Naples Fl.

The only reason its only 4 stars the crease in the sheets can you roll and send tubes if it more cost is would pay for the cleaner look best I can do with the folds

The rear trunk space of my 2022 C8 Corvette Stingray gets quite warm due to the mid engine location and exhaust piping running direct underneath it. After a typical 20-30 minute drive on a warm day temperatures in the lower trunk are could exceed 100 degrees F. Melted my wife's cosmetics on our last out of town trip. And you can forget about cold beer or ice cream surviving.
Did some research and decided on Second Skin Mega Block Heat Shield. Installed in-between the existing carpet trunk liner and forward bulkhead and floor. The Mega Block works fantastic. Trunk temperatures now do not exceed 10 degrees above outside ambient temperature after 20-30 minute drives. I highly recommend this product if to anyone who is experiencing the same issue.

These worked great to silence a higher pitch hum coming out of an air duct caused by vibrations.

Sweet kit and since my interior is out this made the most sense for me.
