Great stuff! Arrived fairly quickly all things considered, the ammo itself was nicely made and shot well. .38 is a hard round to find and which makes it expensive, but these are on par with much less quality stuff. Overall a great round at a very fair price.

Have not tried the ammo yet. It looks real nice. 4 stars only because it took 5 months to get it. In their defense it was ordered summer of 2020 when ammo shortages were severe. They did state there was a backlog.

This 45-70 Govt 300-grain JHP High Power ammunition is terrific. I have fired hundreds of rounds of Hornady 325-grain LEVERevolution FTX ammo--which I like a lot--but I actually prefer the Steinel ammunition. I have shot it in all three of my 45-70 Govt rifles--a Henry Lever X, Ruger No. 1 and Marlin 1895 Cowboy JM--and it functioned perfectly in all of them. I gave a few rounds to a friend who had a similar experience with his Henry 45-70 steel version (I gave his a recoil pad for his rifle). I like to take all three of my rifles to the same range event and shoot 50-60 rounds, and the recoil pads I have on my rifles are a good idea if you plan to shoot that many rounds of this Steinel high power load. When you light off the first round at an indoor range, people on the firing line stop shooting and stare. It actaully caused the guy next to me to wreck his shot group. I even had a range officer come over to borrow a round to show to the other shooters. Andy is great to do business with, and his ammunition is certainly worth waiting during this difficult period. I'll be coming back for more, and while I am sure the light recoil load he makes is excellent as well, I will be going for the high power load. Tim
