The accomodations were as described, but the web site doesn't contain totally accurate information. For example it says that there are two turtle species, the green turtle and the leatherback. However the staff told me that the only turtles that nested there was the olive ridley.

I’m overall really fond of this website. This is my first time signing up for something like this, and so far it has worked great. I haven’t volunteered yet, but I will be this summer. The website is overall set up in a manner that is really easy to navigate, and it’s so great that someone is always there to talk to you and give you pointers if you need it. It was really easy for me to find my interests and start applying.

I still not travel in Ghana, but i'm very happy of the good organisation of the trip.
When I booked a trip in Abetifi, I immediatly received a mail with all informations I need to know.
So, I really was confortable to organise my trip !
I also had others interrogations, and we I sended a mail to Sam Sexton or Linda, I received an answer under 10 minutes. I feel that these persons love their job and do everything to help the volunteers before, during and after the trip !
Thanks the employees, I'm more than excited to take off to Abetify !
Thank you so much !

It is my first time volunteering and I really like your site. I like the quick responses. I have a question however? is it possible to have fully sponsored volunteering opportunities? I for one will really like to volunteer, but I lack the funds to sponsor even my trip to the host country. It would be great to be supported. Thanks.

I was very disappointed in the response from SASTA when I stated that my housing situation was misrepresented. They stated that it was like a dorm. There was no indication that this was going to be a coed dorm with shared male/female showers. There were also NO rules and alcohol throughout the entire house. When a complaint was made, I was told that I don’t understand the culture at all. I was treated with great disrespect when trying to make a complaint and I do not appreciate being told that I was getting heated when I was not even able to get a word in. Overall, it was very poorly handled.

Exciting opportunities, quick and thoughtful replies help me decide on a much more meaningful way of travel - becoming embedded in two cities that I’ve always wanted to “ live like a local” in. And I am hooked on exploring the website and finding new inspirations going forward. I think of where I would like to go and then explore the opportunity on offer through Volunteer World. Thank-you for opening up a new world, literally, for me.

The site is very easy to use. It presents the main associations for each country on the home page, but it is also possible to search by country or by type of activities.
And most importantly, the site puts us in touch with a person who offers help and is able to answer our questions.
Finally, the steps to contact and book a mission are very easy to follow.
It was for me the first time that planned volunteering and I am very happy to have found this platform!

Great place where find some interesting volunteering programmes. Actually I am gonig to start mine, and, at the moment, everything has been great, and the communication with the NGO is being perfect. Both, the NGO and Volunteer World, are very proffesional.
