I spent six months at Daktari and I can say without a doubt that it was the best experience of my life. I left with some apprehensions about going to a remote place in the middle of the bush on the other side of the world. Daktari is like a family where we are warmly welcomed. With lodging food and laundry taken care of Daktari feels like home. I only met kind volunteers who shared the same goal: to educate children and care for animals. The surrounding nature is stunning and living among these iconic South African animals is very impressive. I would recommend anyone wanting to experience life in such an environment to go to Daktari. A huge thank you to Michèle Camilla and Ian without whom none of this would be possible. And a special thought for Gaspar the cutest meerkat in the world. I will definitely come back.

I wanted to volunteer for the Scottish Wildlife Trust to get a work experience abroad before looking for a job in my country. After only 2 weeks of work I felt in love with Scotland and decided to stay and find a job there. The landscapes are breathtaking and the people I met at work and during my free time are absolutely the best. In the end this volunteering has been an amazing springboard for me. It helped me to move in Scotland and to find my dream job.

As soon as I saw this opportunity I knew I had to do it even though Mongolia was not somewhere I had ever thought to go before. The people working at Hustai National Park made everything so easy from picking me up at the airport to finding and booking a hostel for me to stay at for a couple of nights. The food was delicious though they gave me SO MUCH to eat that I thought I gained at least 5 pounds and the ger was a lot of fun to experience living in. It was very cozy. Everyone I interacted with was so nice and caring whether they spoke English or not and I never felt unwelcome. I pretty much shadowed the biologist I was with since it was too cold for me to go out and track Takhi so if you want to work with the horses more I'd suggest going between May and September but I still got to experience a lot of cool things. We went out at night and early in the morning trying to find wolves counted animals in a certain area of the park picked up litter with the rangers and I even saw a goat be born! I was also given multiple presentations about the park's history and the plants and animals living there and even got to help critique a presentation and the brochure so the sentence structure was more natural to native English speakers. It was an all around great experience and I need to go back but probably in the summer next time. :) The people at Fronteering were very helpful and quickly answered any questions that I had. They were wonderful

I had the pleasure of spending a month in Mozambique with Underwater Africa. I was able to get school credit while being here which was an amazing opportunity. The accommodations at White Sands are wonderful and the staff is incredibly friendly. The sunsets over the estuary and ocean are some of the best I've ever seen.
I arrived in Mozambique just after getting my PADI Open Water certification and started diving
the day after I got there. By the time I left I had earned my Advanced Open Water certification.
The dive staff at Aquaholics—Gwen and Greg—were fantastic and made me feel very
comfortable in the water. I encountered some amazing creatures including humpback whales
giant manta rays stingrays turtles dolphins and whale sharks. The reefs are incredibly diverse teeming with vibrant fish life.
In addition to diving and going on ocean safaris I snorkeled in the estuary went surfing and
engaged with a local village where I enjoyed their palm wine and shared dinner with them.
The people who come to this program are the kind of individuals you want to be around. Calum
is exceptionally knowledgeable about the area and taught me so much about elasmobranchs and other reef life. I particularly enjoyed learning how plankton can influence the presence of certain filter-feeding megafauna. This experience taught me a lot about myself and solidified my interest in pursuing further education in marine sciences.

This is so much fun!!! Highly recommended!!!! Really worth the money and time it is a valuable experience. The staff are friendly they answer most of our queries and are suitable to chat with we have a lot of fun with them. I really love how the project goes as we go for kayak survey Turtle ID and most importantly we get to go to the turtle nesting beach to help and save the turtle eggs!!! We learn how to differentiate the species of turtles what they feed on where they mostly nested how to take care of their eggs what to do when you encounter the turtles appearing to nest on the beach etc. The food is absolutely delicious I love it!!! It is really worth a second trip!

Living and volunteering with the indigenous community for a month was an amazing experience it was awesome being in the jungle and seeing the strange and wonderful wildlife of the Amazon. It's a great place with a different pace of life with time to just chill out in a hammock and get to know the people there and learn about their culture and their way of life. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and made you feel right at home. Definitely a place and experience to remember. Thank you Fronteering!

I spent three weeks volunteering on this awesome marine conservation project and it was such a rewarding experience! I got to see so many cool animals like seahorses humpback whales turtles dolphins and all kinds of beautiful fish. We did a bunch of different research including comparing the flukes of the whales we spotted. I even got my open water diver certification there which was amazing! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming so I always felt safe and had a blast. I would love to go back in the future!

Fronteering Travel put me in contact with Scottish Wildlife Trust an conservation organism. I had a lovely time working with Eddie a tree surgeon in Dalkeith near Edinburgh. With the other volunteers we helped felling trees and processing the logs. I was only there during winter but the job can change a lot with the seasons. Regarding Fronteering Travel we had a hard time communicating during the whole inscription process and every step was slow and laborious. For instance they only manage to find me accommodations one week AFTER the beginning of my work here. To sum up I would strongly recommand working with SWT. It was an incredible experience that I wish for everyone to try. However I also would recommand to contact them yourself and to search for accommodation yourself as well it will most likely be cheaper and easier.

I have a big fondness for reptiles and especially turtles so this program was a no-brainer to me. The host was super friendly and the accommodation was good. I loved taking care of these little guys and bringing them back to their health before releasing them back in to the wild.

This is an absolute must do if you're on the island. I spent three day's volunteering doing coral garden maintenance and mangrove planting (which also included a mangrove tour on lembongan). Volunteering here was a highlight of my time in Indonesia. Festi Nyoman and Raffael were all amazing so welcoming and friendly. Miss you all already! No experience required something everyone can enjoy!! Also coral cafe which is above does great food!

Coming from Germany I wanted something really different and volunteering with horses at the horse rescue center in Canada was amazing. The horse have gone through so much and it felt so good to help them start trusting again. Whether I was feeding grooming or just hanging out with them it felt like I was really making a difference. Besides the horse care there is also cleaning stalls and carrying hay. The area and scenery was unreal and take trips to the Rockies was great. Fronteering was very helpful and always got back to me quickly. The team there were super friendly. I can recommend this trip especially if you want to volunteer with horse but also volunteer for a good cause

If you are looking for sustainable snorkeling knowledge staff and an unparalleled cultural experience add this as your “must-see” for Nusa Penida. Festi & Raffael made this immersive experience the highlight of our trip. It felt so good to give back and the reef was the most beautiful we've ever seen. So grateful and cannot wait to return.

Volunteering at the Biological Park Conservation project was an enlightening and impactful experience. The project's focus on conservation efforts and biodiversity preservation made every task feel like a crucial contribution to a greater cause. Despite the hard work and occasional challenges the sense of accomplishment at the end of each day was immensely gratifying. Volunteering at the Biological Park Conservation project not only broadened my knowledge but also instilled a deep appreciation for the importance of sustainable practices and the vital role of conservation in preserving our planet's biodiversity.

I've always dreamed of having an experience like this and now I can say that this dream has come true. I wanted to combine seeing my favorite wildlife with learning about wildlife management for professional purposes. During my stay I got to see so many animals. I can't forget the night drive when we saw a leopard relaxing close by...we watched it for a while. The atmosphere was peaceful and time seemed to stand still.
I felt happiness and emotion multiple times as we had incredible sightings especially of elephants and lions. I never got bored and I was amazed until the very end even by the more common species like zebras or antelopes.

On the work side we were with the reserve's biomonitoring team and on a daily basis we participated in data collection and monitoring activities such as rhino monitoring game transects and plains monitoring. Through this we learned how to identify the age and sex of various animals and many other informations.
We had the chance to attend several vet interventions for different species as well as participate in bush walks. It was fantastic and really interesting.
We also had a session explaining how camera traps are used for black rhino monitoring and we set up one ourselves. We got to try telemetry technology to locate a cheetah and visited holding facilities to understand the process before introducing species.

The staff were incredible and friendly ! They explained a lot and answered all my questions. I learned so much from them during each drive; not a single day went by without learning something new. I also met some amazing and interesting people and we had a great time and a lot of fun together. I enjoyed the vibe and the life at the camp.
Overall I am extremely satisfied with my experience at Welgevonden Game Reserve. Thank you Hamba Africa and the biomonitoring team!

Volunteering at the wolf conservation project was a mesmerizing journey into the heart of wildlife preservation. Assisting in the care and observation of these majestic creatures was both thrilling and educational. This volunteer opportunity not only broadened my understanding of wolf behavior and ecology but also instilled a deep sense of responsibility towards their preservation. Volunteering at the wolf conservation project was a memorable and impactful journey reinforcing the importance of safeguarding these creatures and the ecosystems they inhabit.

Volunteering in the Marine Conservation program was a hands-on and enlightening experience. Engaging in cleanup efforts I witnessed the detrimental effects of marine debris on the environment and marine life. The teamwork and commitment of the volunteers showcased the collective dedication to addressing ocean pollution.

I spent two weeks out doing the marine scuba diver programme. My only regret is not staying longer! There is so much to do from scuba diving to wine tasting to exploring some of the best beaches in Europe. The accommodation is very nice and local! Definitely one of the best diving spots in Europe!

Le séjourà été très agréable. Anne nous a appris beaucoup de choses sur les animaux et leur façon de vivre. J'ai vraiment apprécié passer du temps avec Anne et j'aimerais passer un autre séjour avec elle sur un autre thème. Mon moment préféré a été quand nous étions passés près de l'île au fous de Bassan. Nous avions vu là bas des centaines d'oiseaux qui nichaient. Je me suis fait des amis et je suis toujours en relation avec eux.
