Nice and cost effective. I could have done the block myself, but it was much more effective to buy the block to size. It worked out great. Very good quality and almost ready to install. I trimmed to size and coated with clear Urethane. It looks great.

The company was very easy to work with and sent samples of the product before I purchased the 9ft piece of white oak butcher block. It came package very nice, wrapped in cardboard and secured in wood pallets. Delivery was tricky because we had to arrange to meet the truck at an alternate location (the 18-wheeler could no drive on my road).

Bought the 10 in. x 16 in. x 1.25 in. striped maple and walnut cutting board. It is not only aesthetically beautiful but the workmanship is superb. But I'm not surprised with the quality and beauty of the piece because I've previously purchased a couple of white oak butcher blocks and a back-splash from HLC . I was impressed the first time so I ordered again and HLC did not disappoint.
I chose the mineral oil treated cutting board and when it was delivered I lightly washed it with a little soap and water . I let it dry overnight and applied a good coat of food grade mineral oil which I had also purchased from HLC. It looked so good that I felt a bit guilty using a knife on it for the first time.

White Oak Edge Grain Butcher Block Countertop
To start the Reno project i ordered two samples of butcher block, white oak and maple. I paid $10 each for the samples. After applying mineral oil to both samples I choose the white oak, the maple was too light for my taste. I ordered a 9ft piece of unfinished white oak butcher block and received the product just short of a month later. Customer service with the Hardwood-lumber website has been great, Martha has always answered my emails within 24 hours. The only hiccup was with shipping, which I assume is different depending where you are shipping to. The shipping company sent the product on a truck that could not deliver the product to my home. My contractor had to meet the truck near my home and receive the product. Other than that, no problems with the product. I have had the counter in my home for a week now and I am very pleased with it, it was just as I pictured after ordering a sample.
