I have had troubles with trees dying from Tyty. I just received an order and I have 6 bare-root trees that are leafing out already. My experience is that bare-root trees need to be dormant to survive... when they are really leafing out and bare root then usually they go into shock and die. So, this wastes my time. I will look for potted varieties from other companies or bare-root trees that are dormant (also from other companies).

I ordered two dogwood trees one white and another pink both about the same size and estimated age. Both arrived quickly, well packaged, and no damage to roots or branches. Neither has flowered yet or put out leaves. So I can’t give 5 stars as of yet. But I am confident they will as they seem very healthy. Perhaps I will remember to come back and update my review in a year. But as for now I feel good about my choice to go with Ty-Ty nursery.

Plants are small (root size). Maybe one quart container size equivalent and thus pricey. No contractor relationship price benefit. $30 shipping is pricey for GE to MA given bare root weight. Box volume could have been reduced to minimize shipping. Wrapping impossible to unwrap without scarify a root accidentally.

I'm not sure yet. We need to see if they will live. They have been in the ground for just three days. I hope they all live.

My first time planting dry root trees, so, here's my observations. Promptly shipped and I was kept well informed by UPS as to when I could expect delivery. Well and caringly packaged. My seven trees were labeled in groups. There were no planting instructions included in the packaging but advice was easily found on various websites.
I planted my trees the same day I received them and I'll withhold my overall opinion until later in the season.

I was excited to try Ty Ty, the website was quite user friendly and I happened to be online during their Spring sale. Lucky me. I am a plant lover so ofcourse that was appealing. But it probably should have been red flag #1. Anyway, I ordered 4 trees from Ty Ty.
The shipping was decent and I received notifications as my package was being shipped. The box arrived, and while it was very tall, I was concerned immediately. My thought was how are 4 trees healthfully in that box?
The trees I ordered include a 2 year TX Star banana, Plantation Pomegranate, Kieffer Pear and Blue Plum. Unfortunately my apprehension was correct... the packaging was horrible! Definitely not anyway that I'd package trees with the true intent of keeping them alive, or just generally caring about the customers perception that keeping them alive was the intent.
I am pretty sure the banana tree is diseased and I SERIOUSLY doubt that it is 2 years old. The Pomegranate tree was definitely stressed as it dropped most of its leaves in the shipping box. The Pear and Plum are apparently bare root, so I will have to see of the wake up.
I was most concerned about the banana tree as we have other bananas and didn't want to risk this tree having a disease that could affect them. I reached out to the Ty Ty customer service email with a explanation of my concern, with pictures to show as well. To my surprise I received a response within two days. However, it was a generic email response and did not address my concern, so at this point I am leaving a review to provide my experience. I will not be recommending this nursery.
