I had a really positive experience with TyTy. I had ordered plants during freezing weather in NY, so they had delayed my shipping until March, which I felt was a very fair thing to do. However, I needed them sooner, explained that I wasn’t planning on planting outside, and requested that they be shipped. While this waives the plantsurance (again, fair policy) the order was shipped out promptly, and they even sent some photos of the plants to reassure me that they were healthy before shipping.
I had ordered an arbequina olive at 2-3ft - it is actually closer to 4 - and a dwarf cavendish. The dwarf cavendish didn’t travel well, but its rhizome was well protected and it’s now starting to push out new growth. So, again, the packaging worked despite the weather. The olive tree is in excellent health.
Overall, I will order from TyTy again if I have space for more plants.

I ordered a 7 ft bare root beech tree. The tree is dormant, and the above ground part looks good, but it has almost no root.! Two large tap roots had been severed about 3 inches beneath the root flare and there are essentially no hairy little roots left. We planted it the day it arrived and will be curious if it greens up in the spring and survives. I should have taken a photo of the non-existent root ball.... I feel for this money, I could have stepped out into the woods beyond my backyard and dug up a wild one for free and got a lot more roots with it! ;) Anyway, I know I did the right thing by paying for a tree but will be curious to see if I get lucky and it actually survives.
