Love this nest box! It was very easy to assemble, it is very sturdy and we are eager for our young pullets to start using it.

My girls love this box! I bought it in March - they took to it right away. I had my first egg in it that day. Best decision I made. I bought the medium, and have 7 hens. I'm about to add another medium since Henri, one of my hens, tries to get broody and keep others away. Excellent quality - very easy to reverse - I actually hung mine on a chain link fence!

While the quality of the box is excellent- we have tried for 2 months and our chickens refuse to use the box. We followed all the training steps- used straw, even 'rebuilt' their old box inside of this one. They absolutely will not use this box- very frustrating. No fault of the box- it is an well made- so I struggled with what to rate it. Just know that for whatever reason, your chickens may completely refuse.

These work great for dispensing eggs safely out of nestbox. The only problem is that the rodents residing close by love to eat the plastic and they make holes in the level surface where the eggs catch and do not roll into the side. But that's a problem for me to solve.

This product is worth the investment. Very much pleased with it. My eggs production went up as well. Great product.

The box quality is fine. It would be nice if you had a medium sized nest box

Received my large Best Nest Box about a month ago (Dec 2020) . Spent approximately 30 minutes assembling it with the very well explained directions. Was truly a pleasure to put together. Removed all my old nesting boxes and installed in the same location. Within one week all 26 of my hens were using the box. I am beyond please with the results of using the best nest. No more scrubbing and washing eggs. No more muddy filthy eggs. No broken or pecked eggs. Absolutely amazing. I have several friends that also raise chickens and after seeing my new best nest and it’s results, they will be ordering theirs soon. Thank you for making a great product.

I want to commend those responsible for the fabrication of the materials used for the nest box. I found it was exceptionally easy to assemble and the instructions were simple to follow.

Worked fantastic, hens took to the turf right away. Good product.

Love it and most of the birds started using it the first day. Still need to get a couple of the birds to lay in it but should not be a problem.

This nesting box is terrific for keeping eggs clean - no pecked shells either! We added the Perch Popper which keeps the birds from roosting inside the nesting box to keep the interior clean. We are very happy with our purchase.

These truly are the Best Nest!!! I have built my own roll away boxes and have used other DIY laying box solutions, and none can hold a candle to the quality and effectiveness of the Best Nest Box!! 10/10 recommend.

The box itself is awesome. Well built, easy to put together. It takes a while to train you chickens to consistantly use it, I put hay in it then slowly removed the hay over time. They will still lay elsewhere if given a comfy spot which I work to deny. It's great to get eggs that are clean and my hens no longer eat them. With a little effort it is worthwhile in the long run.

First timw chicken owner here. Love the Best Nest Box! Put some hay in the box to get them to start using it and right a way they were laying eggs in the box. Wish there is a warmer on egg holder for the cold North Dakota winters!

I was excited to use this product and thought it would be a good timesaver but it has turned out to be a disappointment. Unless I’m doing something wrong I find that my birds will poop on the matt and the excrement gets trapped in the plastic bristles. I was hoping I would be able to simple shake out the pads and get them reasonably clean. If I had easy access to a hose where my coop is and warm enough temperatures to manage a hose year-round I’m sure it would be easier to keep the pads clean but for my purposes this product hasn’t worked out I’m sorry to say.

The medium nest box worked on the first day with are finicky hens.

Chickens are starting to lay and it's always a good feeling to open up the hatch and see clean eggs! Still training a couple of our chickens to use it but they are catching on. I mounted the nesting box on hinges so that I can always angle the box just enough to let the eggs role back gently because of our hilly terrain. A stick is used from the ground to the bottom of the nesting box to hold it at the desired angle, works great. I surrounded any open areas around the box with hardware cloth with enough room to handle the the movement forward or backward for predator protection.

We purchased 2 of these for our hens and are EXTREMELY happy!! They are approximately one year old, so it took a couple of days to switch them over (I ended up separating 4 very broody hens that were refusing to use it). I did tie up the flaps on one of them, for the first couple of days. Most of them took to it the first day, and the others followed suite once I sprinkled just a tiny amount of shavings on the mat- they use it fine now with no shavings. The eggs are so clean, I don’t have to worry about one cracking in the nest and turning them into egg eaters, no free lunch for thieving birds, etc and if we are out of town the eggs are stored safely without having to bother a neighbor to collect them daily!

Super easy to install! We screwed a golf ball to the astroturf to encourage our hens to lay there! Worked like a charm! Thanks for a great product!

Love it! My husband was skeptical and a little pricey. We put it in the day we got it. We have about 30+ hens and 15 of those are pullets. We were getting 2 or so eggs a day and sometimes none!! Our first 24 hours we got 13 eggs!!! We are up to 17! They went right in and needed no training or anything. My husband now says we should have gotten one of those sooner. Thank you! There is nothing more frustrating one the homestead than having chickens and having to buy eggs!!! Best Nest Box is the best!!

These boxes are the best thing that I have come across for chicken owners. No more dirty eggs. No more eaten or broken eggs. How does anyone do without it? The girls really love the privacy curtain. They did not need any training. They waited in line and jumped in just as soon as the other layer left the box! Thank so much for a wonderful product and great service.

Perfect!! It fixed the exact problem I was hoping to solve. No more egg eating! 12 hens happily using one box. I am about to order a second box for my other batch of 9 hens and then connect their outdoor runs without concern that any of the old egg eaters will get to the eggs in either pen!! So glad I don't have to cull any from the flock nor sacrifice eggs. Thank you!!

Worked great. Easy to assemble. Waiting for my chickens to start using it. They're still to young to need it but hopefully in a month or more I'll start getting clean eggs.

I bought two, one came damaged but I manage to bang out the dents and realign the frame but they both work excellent. I’ll give it 4 stars even though it might of been damaged in shipping.

I haven't assembled it yet, do I really can't rate it.

I’m just kicking myself that I didn’t get one of these sooner.

I’d like to see how long the 45 minute version actually takes to put together. If you were making a bunch of these it would take 15 minutes after you got the first one assembled. Having to flip the box for rear egg retrieval took 10 minutes. The instructions could be a bit more informative, but ultimately the pictures will guide you. I like the box, I got one of my birds to use it straight away, too bad she’s pretty low in the pecking order. The other birds liked to perch on it at night as I left it on the floor of the coop to help them get used to it. Now it’s hung through the wall and everyone is trained to perch on their rack. Trading, training, training...

The one that came with our 48” best nest box was thicker & much better quality. The 2 replacement ones I just received are thin and one was torn 10” on one side right out of the box! Poor quality control. Save your self time & money and look elsewhere if you need a replacement pad as I will from now on!

I was really excited when my box arrived. Unfortunately the nesting box was dented and all the corners were bent out of shape. I paid extra for easy assembling, however I had an extremely difficult time putting it together due to all the bent corners. Finally got it together, however my chickens won’t use it. I have 35 hens, but not one will use it. I’m so disappointed.

Assembly was simple with the easy to follow instructions. Will definitely purchase again as the flock continues to grow.

We really like the roll away nest boxes as the eggs are always clean and no broken eggs! The assembly was rather quick and easy!

It works great. The eggs are usually clean and don’t require washing. I wish that you made a three footer. We have a large and medium. They are well worth the money.

The girls love it and the eggs are super clean! They took to using it right away.

It took a while to get my girls to lay in the box. The finally are laying in the boxes and ill be letting the bedding fall out and hopefully the eggs roll away and the girls keep laying in the box.

We are really happy with these boxes! They arrived quickly and were easy to assemble. My eggs are so much cleaner.

I purchased 2 of the large replacement pads 3 weeks ago. 1 1/2 weeks ago I went to change the mat for the other one and the mat that had been in the Nest-O-Matic was torn from 10" on both sides. The original pad that came with the Nest-O-Matic was great and I had no problems but the replacements are not worth the money.

Very easy to put together and install. I was able to put it together by myself and my son helped me hang it. My chickens didn't have a problem laying in it. No more messy eggs.

Easy to assemble. Easy to use. The hens like them. The mats in the boxes are easy to pull out and clean. They are durable - we bought several two years ago, and they are holding up very well, even with being moved a couple of times and being used by several hundred hens a day. The only flaw is that sometimes the eggs get cracked on the metal lip at the bottom of the egg collection area, so we added padding to ours.

Love this company and their products! Very durable, I only just had to get a new pad and it’s been nearly 3 years! Worth every penny.

I very rarely write reviews, but the nest box deserves a great one! First, it is made in the USA and you can really tell that the company has excellent quality control. The metal was heavy gauge, all the holes lined up perfectly, and all the parts were in the box. Even better, the wooden roost bar was very well sanded, no extra work required to make sure it didn't hurt my chicken's feet. The directions were good, and this 61 year old lady put it together by herself in the living room (ahem, took more than 45 minutes for me). The design is perfectly thought out to work and prevent problems, like hens sitting on top of the nest and pooping down the front. My hens jumped right up and started using it that day, the eggs are super easy to collect, and best of all, NO dirty or stained eggs -- now I can leave them out on the counter and don't feel like I need to wash them and then store in my small refrigerator. The nest costs way more than any other nest I've made or tried, BUT IT IS TOTALLY WORTH IT. Spend the money and you won't regret it.

This definitely takes more than 15 minutes to put together. Anyone who can put this together in 15 minutes is significantly more skilled than I am. That said, assembly was not especially difficult and now that I have done it I could probably do a second and third one in a fraction of the time. I really love how this is set up and how sturdy it is. Currently none of my hens will use it which is extremely disappointing. Hopefully they get used to it and use it so it’s not just coop art.

Best thing ever!! No more broken, eaten or poopy eggs. The hens adjusted to it super fast and the timer makes the whole operation pretty carefree. It was definitely pricey, but over time the convenience and eggs saved will make it worth it. I certainly have no regrets. It is a really solid design and my 14 year old son was able to put it together by himself without issue.

I will have to see hopefully will be great. The box was damaged in shipping the box was not damaged just a little dent will not change how it works. Not to bad to put together about half an hour.

Very well thought out design. Easy to assemble. I had the 40 min assembly kit done in 30 min. Automatic roost opener works very well and is of a simple bullet proof design. Time spent cleaning eggs has all but disappeared Would recommend this product for any small to medium manual egg collection farm.

Love this nesting box! Easy to assemble. It can be mounted in many ways, which is great for when I upgrade my coop next summer. Eggs come out clean! Chickens learned very quickly what to do! I really like my Best Nest Box. I have 7 laying hens with 11 chicks coming on. 3 out of the 7 hens have used the box right away, several of the others are molting, and the rest have not come around yet! Hope with time they will! I have a couple of hens that eat the eggs and I love that the eggs are safe in the Best Nest Box.

Our chickens wont use it, (brown leghorns) we had pails before your nest box, they rather use the floor, after a week I gave up and put the pails back in the coop. maybe our chickens are too set in their ways they are about a year old. will try it on the next batch. Assembly was straight forward did not take long. Thanks.

We have it installed.. it’s nicely built BUT.. they won’t go anywhere near it SO now what I’m thinking..

At first I hated it because the chickens would not lay in it and I thought I’d wasted the money. Then I moved it to the grown and not long after they started using it. I’m going to start moving it slowly up the wall I’m the next few days. It definitely keeps the eggs cleaner and that’s a big plus for me.

Works great! All the hens started using it after 3 days. I put some rolled up straw in on the 2nd day to help with the ones not interested.
