Love these boxes! It makes egg collection so much more efficient. Plus the eggs come out cleaner with fewer cracks than if left in traditional sit-in next boxes. Assembly is simple and you can tell the boxes are super sturdy and made with high quality materials. We bought about a dozen of these boxes to accommodate our new laying flock, and with practice, I was able to get assembly down to about 27 minutes per box with a power screwdriver and socket set :-) Time and money well spent for lovely clean eggs and happy chickens.

Assembly was fine however i can't get my chickens to use the box. Took the old one out, and they started laying on the ground. Not using it at all. They wont go in there.

I just installed the large box, and the girls are starting to use it. They are getting used to a new hen house at the same time and so I’m happy that the construction hasn’t spooked them too much. It works just as advertised. Easy to collect the eggs and almost no need to wash them. Very cool!.

It took some convincing to get our Young hens to use it but now they are using it, its awesome. Customer Service is very good and quick to respond and willing to help in anyway to teach how to train the hens.

Easy to assemble and install, and looks great in our egg mobile. I love being able to collect eggs outside the coop, especially when in a rush and don't have time to clean chicken manure off my clothes or boots. We will be purchasing more as we expand!!

Took a couple of days for the ladies to figure out. Now they are rocking eggs, that roll down gently for us to retrieve later. Great customer service! My one suggestion would be to put a soft bumper to stop the eggs. As it is now, about half the eggs get chipped when they hit the edge of the tray. Otherwise, excellent product! Well built and easy to assemble!

I think they are great. Now if the chickens would only think it too!

Well built, solid materials, clear assembly instructions - took about 45 minutes to fully assemble by myself. Installed in my hen-house and getting clean eggs now. Quite happy with this product. My only complaint is that it is a little on the pricey side, but for a quality, American-made product I have no regrets.

My hens won't lay eggs in it. What do I need to do to get them to lay their eggs in it?

It really works! We had several hens that took to it right away, but a few others needed convincing. After two weeks most everyone is on board and has been laying in the box. We liked it so much, we got another small one as a second option. Keeps the eggs clean and keeps the hens from pecking at them. Would definitely recommend getting before the hens start laying so you don’t have to retrain them where to lay.

The instructions could be a little better, I had to watch a YouTube video to figure out exactly how the box fit together. The box itself is wonderful, my hens knew exactly what to do with it. Also, the instructions don’t tell how to reverse the box.

i just love the rollaway nest box's as i have bought three the large one and medium one and now the small really like them all the eggs are clean hardly any eggs eaten and cracked ones the hens has taken to them quickly i highly recomend for any one that is looking for a better nest box to consider one of these

This nest box may be the best purchase I've made for our farm all year. Our forty laying hens took to it right away. We have no broken or soiled eggs to deal with now. I was skeptical that one box would work for forty hens, but it does. Great investment!

Nice concept but way over priced and our chickens hardly lay their eggs in it. Only around it.

The construction if very good, instructions are good too I expect it to last a long time. I have had mixed success with this box, the eggs will some times not roll away even though the box was level on every angle so I put a deeper incline on the nest but when You do this they will roll away so fast that they may crack at the bottom so I had to add padding to the very end of the nest where the eggs land. All in all a good product but I had some issues with it so far.

I love that the eggs are always clean and the hens can’t sit on them or peck at them!! So awesome! We have 50 hens. Will most likely be ordering another once they are all laying!!

The box was delivered quickly and it was easy to put together. I am pleased with the quality and fit. My chicks are due to start laying there first eggs in two weeks. I reversed the egg tray so gathering eggs from the outside will be easy. Thanks for a quality product.

installed 2 of the small nest boxes in my run. They are solid construction sheet metal, and look great. i would assume they will last an extremely long time. The hens haven't used them yet since they're molting, but i dont anticipate any issues.

Sturdy, quality construction. Worth the expense for clean eggs! I've been raising chickens for 15 years and used a few different homemade nest boxes because I felt I couldn't justify the expense of a roll-out box like this one. My advice, go ahead buy this nest box--you won't regret it!

Love my Best Nest box! Been using it for a couple years now and the Astroturf is a little difficult to put in and out of the box causing it to tear and break. So needs replacing.

It was very easy to assemble and the eggs roll into the little collection tray like they are supposed to BUT...only 2 of my 40 girls will lay eggs in it. I'm not sure how to get them to start using it.

We got our nest box installed and just two days later our young hens laid their first eggs ever in the nest box! All we did was leave one flap up and let them explore it. The eggs come out almost perfectly clean each time, and it’s very rare that one doesn’t roll all the way down to the bottom. We are so pleased with the functioning of this nest box!

I have recently purchased two more boxes. I have a total of four now and I will probably order a couple more in another month. No other system keeps the eggs as clean.

Most of the hens used the new nesting box immediately! Clean eggs at last! The nest mat got soiled and the spare one went in. The mat washes easily, too.

These are amazing boxes. My 16 year old assembled them (2) and they are putting in work with our hens.

I would probably like it a whole lot better if my chickens would actually use it. I wish I could convince them that this expensive lay box is so much nicer than the ground. What do you do, they are chickens? It was easy to put together and made well.

Super easy install and our eggs are SO much cleaner. It is amazing.

Four weeks later and the chickens will still not lay in it, despite my adding straw and fake eggs in there. Will not be wasting money again.

The opener works great and is heavy duty. A must have product from a fantastic company. They save so much time and work from not having chickens roosting in the nest over night. I own two of the large best nests and put the openers on both. The chickens love the nests and I never even had to train them to use them. Also customer service from this company is absolutely the the best if you have any problems or questions with their products.

The box is the third we have bought. I would recommend making a bigger box, one with an extra two slots. Something to accommodate 100 birds.

I have had my nest box for a few years. I love it! I highly recommend it to any one considering chickens. A few friends have also purchased a Best Nest Box and they LOVE it also! You will not regret your purchase!! However like Katherine stated below- I have had difficulty getting the mat out, causing it to rip at the end- and once it started to rip, it rips a little more each time I take it out for cleaning. Nothing lasts forever, but my next one I will somehow add a tab in the back right corner for easier removal and avoid damaging the pad. This would NOT deter me from purchasing, just wished I had bought additional nest pads when I purchased to avoid extra shipping costs. No doubt this is the best product on the market. Still a 5 star product in my opinion!

This is an excellent nesting box. On my first day there were 11 eggs in the tray. Clean not dirty or cracked. Wished I had ordered one long time ago. Second day had 16 eggs in the tray. Couldn’t be any happier. Wasn’t sure if the hens would take to it. But they did. All I had to do was taped up three of the red flaps, put some pine shavings in it. Then Bam game on! Thankyou! Best Nash box I ever tried

The best box Itself is made very well and the design is smart . The problem is my hens want nothing to do with it. They are used to boxes with shavings ..comfort, where as the rubber bottom though practical, must be uncomfortable for the girls. I tried putting shavings in the box, fake eggs and dividers, all to no avail. My hens free range during the day. Now that it is getting cooler, perhaps I can leave them in the coop longer, eliminate all other nesting opportunities and by desperate necessity they will have to lay in the nest box or on the cement floor. I can only hope! I’m disappointed that I paid so much and so far not having any luck. Any other suggestions? Wait till a whole new batch of hens comes into laying? Thank you

very well made product but ours has been here since July and the chickens will not go in it.

I love this nest box. I was using 5 gallon buckets with a ledge attachment before. I had to put straw in them to get the chickens to use them. Over time, it was quite messy with broken eggs and poop. This box is easy to use and keep clean. I am very happy i made the upgrade.

Easy to assemble and very well packed. It took a little time for the chickens to get used to it but once they did, it became their go to place to lay their eggs. We have 11 hens using the large box which is more than adequate. The eggs are clean and easy to collect. We are very pleased.

The best nest box we bought is lovely. It was not very hard to put together. My 'Lady's' were not impressed. I had to lock them out of their old nest boxes and we had to put some hay inside the best box. Also I had to use clothes pins to hold up the red flaps. I put the best box on the ground to encourage the girls to go in and slowly they are getting use to it. I still have 2 or 3 hens that are laying on the ground. We are still keeping the girls locked out of the old nest box. And I just put it up on one row of cinder block.

Assembly was easy and fun! I can’t wait for my chicks to grow into laying hens!

Love this nesting box! I didn't want any broody hens for a couple of years so this is perfect. It was easy to assemble with no missing parts. My first time laying hens took to it perfectly. Eggs are clean and unbroken. Highly recommend!

This is a great nesting box, for years I had my homemade boxes and they were a mess with eggs breaking or getting eaten. Really like the way the eggs are nice and clean. I purchased the 40 minute large and it took me about 40 minutes to put together. Great instructions and when I need another box I know where to go now.
