I recently purchased a bone-in leg of lamb from Heartstone Farm and cooked it today. Being Greek, I am particular when it comes to lamb. This lamb was delicious. I seasoned it last night, an old Greek recipe. I cut a dozen slits and pushed in slivers of garlic. Then I rubbed the lamb with extra virgin olive oil from Greece. Then I drizzled fresh lemon juice on it. The seasonings were salt, pepper, rosemary, thyme and oregano. It was cooked in my outdoor Orion smoker. I put a temp probe in it and cooked it to 130 F. Then it rested 30 minutes before slicing. I will order lamb again, Dan. Very pleased.

Great meat! Can definitely taste the quality!

I seasoned with only Red Boat salt and cooked it sous vide for 2 hours at 129F. I finished it on a hot grill. I added a bit of fresh ground black pepper. This was definitely one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. It had a big beefy flavor. I will be buying again!

It took me a while to put this review up because I was saving my tomahawk ribeyes for a special occasion. I’d never had one in my life and cooking it was a little intimidating (I didn’t want to ruin them), but holy cow!!! These were phenomenal pieces of meat. My wife and I are heavy meat eaters and so I’m grilling out all year, even in winter with snow. She said that this was the best piece of meat I’ve ever cooked. All I did was use fresh garlic and sea salt. Nothing else. I reverse seared it. It was absolutely mouth watering and I was chewing and sucking on the bone like I was Fred Flintstone. We will be ordering more for our anniversary and we’ve decided to do these for Thanksgiving too. Can’t wait to have these again. Do yourself a favor and splurge on these bad boys. Just please leave a few in stock for me.

The chicken is tasty. However, it took 5 days and two additional e-mails to get a response after placing our order. It is also rather expensive, and the amount of packaging is outrageous. I don't know if we'll do this again. After all, it's just chicken.

We recently tried Heartstone bone-in pork chops for the first time. My husband commented that he usually isn't a fan of pork chops but loved these and asked where the meat was from!!! I cooked them in a non- stick ceramic saute pan by spicing them and coating in flour, searing one side for just 2 minutes, turning them over then adding the liquid (apple cider vinegar, chicken broth, honey, etc) then turning heat down and covering, them allowing to simmer just until done. They were so delicious and tender!!! I will order these regularly!

5 Star all the way. We are very happy with the sampler box we received, on time as promised. The Rib-eye steak was fantastic, my wife said it was melt in your mouth tender and you need to place another order. We tried the chicken, wow tender and delicious. Living up to their promise. We will be making another order.

Burgers are a legit 1/3, they’re huge! One lost it’s shape coming out of the patty paper but we gladly reassembled and grilled. Great taste and texture and bigger than the bun with ease. Definitely keep these on subscription.

We braised the leg of lamb, and it was so good! It was tender, which I expected since it was braised, however, the flavor was amazing! Hands down the best lamb I have ever eaten.

The Grass Fed Kebab Meat is my favorite and I have lots of different options to choose from on how to fix them. I can grill them like they are and add delicious veggies or cut them into big chunks for Beef Stroganoffs or Beef Pot Pie etc. The meat is so tender you never need to tenderize and it’s just delicious!! I've ordered from Dan several times, now. His steaks are always excellent. These Hangar steaks are usually never in stock. My latest large order arrived still frozen solid, as usual. It's gonna take me a while to get to that particular steak, but it's a fine-looking cut of meat. I don't foresee any problems. For those of you unfamiliar w/Dan's offerings, his butcher also does a VERY neat job.

If you love good bacon I mean Good Country Smoked Bacon your going to absolutely love this!! It’s the best we have ever eaten and We are definitely going to be reordering it on a regular basis.

As a repeat Cow Share customer of Heartstone Farms I'd like to share that there isn't anything they do poorly. The ease to order a variety of products is easy. If you need any type of assistance, response is quick and personable. The delivery of product is efficient. Most importantly, the product is excellent. I chose to purchase my first Cow Share because I was concerned about short supply do to supply chain problems as a result of COVID. This year I purchased my Cow Share because I wanted top quality beef from a source that allows it's cows to range free, are given no antibiotics, and are grass fed. The only other way to get that type of meat is to hunt it on your own. I'm not a hunter so this was a logical decision. The meat is delicious. The cuts of Filet are the best I've ever had. The Rib-Eye's are huge. The stew meat, steak tips, and short ribs are excellent. Lastly, the ground beef is a game changer. So many people rave about the burgers I make and ask me what I do to make them so good. I say, "It's a Farmer Dan Burger". That's it... I couldn't be more pleased to feed myself and family with this beef and a truly organic product. You don't need a label to certify this organic. Do yourself a favor and research this farm. Then, do some research to buy a chest freezer. If you can't buy a chest freezer, buy their monthly meat packages and support this magnificent local farmer. Thank You Farmer Dan!

I've ordered the 14-day aged chuck roast several times because it makes the best pot roast. I cook it low and slow in a Dutch oven or slow cooker. It's delicious hot and the leftovers make good sandwiches. We value buying local, and recognize the hard work that goes into farming.

Parrot Heads know a cheeseburger worthy of paradise when we taste one. THIS IS IT! There is grass fed beef then there is Heartstone Farm grass fed beef. The regular grass fed ground beef and ground beef patties are excellent and delicious to be sure. However, the “Steak Burger Box raises the bar considerably. The blending of Sirloin, Chuck and Brisket is pure genius. Resulting in a burger that is tender, ridiculously juicy and beyond delicious. Grilled, fried on a cast iron skillet or even tossed in your favorite pan, you won’t find a better burger. My routine is thaw, set out and let the patties come up to room temperature. A little grind of fresh pepper and ground sea salt and some heat from the bbq grill and BOOM! It’s show time! Pro tip: bring extra napkins. Whatever you like to put on your burger isn’t nearly important as the beef you start with. I am constantly amazed by the quality of Farmer Dan’s Products & the Lamb shank was nothing short of beautiful. You can travel the world & go to places that redefine your sense of familiar things : like sitting in a hot spring in a ice cave under a glacier by a lava field in Iceland lets say and redefining your sense of fire & ice …. Dan’s products are all like this its amazing what they are doing up at Heartstone. We trimmed the outer skin & left the silver skin then adding middle eastern spices of Alepo Pepper, Sumac, Cinnamon, pepper & salt we cooked it low and slow on the smoker For many hours. It came out tender fall of the bone delicious!

I have ordered sampler beef packages and then half cows from Farmer Dan for a few years. My family absolutely loves the beef taste and texture. Along with the beef is excellent suggestions how to prepare different cuts. I was very pleased with the results. I was hesitant about ordering the pork though. I am very picky with the meats I eat and feed my family. I decided to try the Pork Sampler to see how it taste. Everyone in my family, including my hard to please teenagers, loved the pork.
