This Spatchcock Chicken is my new favorite meal. All of Tide Mill’s chicken is awesome-Maine raised, high-quality and delicious, but the Spatchcock Chicken is a revelation. Because it is essentially split down the middle, it roasts up faster and more evenly than a regular whole chicken and is so flavorful! After we ate all the meat, we slow cooked the bones for some of the best chicken broth we’ve ever had. I’ve already ordered another one.

We just recently purchased a share of beef. Full disclosure...I am not the meat lover of the family. That title belongs to my husband. But I have to say, this is the best beef I have ever tasted. We started off with the shaved steak in subs - absolutely scrumptious! Then we had a burger on the grill - best one ever! Not overwhelming in that "hard-to-digest" beefy taste but rather lean and extremely flavorful. I can't wait to try the steaks, ribs, and roasts. And by the way, my husband who regards himself as the steak "connoisseur" of the family gave his full stamp of approval! We will definitely reorder - probably sooner than I planned. From the moment of ordering to the home delivery, everything was done on time and professionally. Congratulations to Farmer Dan and crew for producing such a nice, Maine, wholesome, nutritious and sound product.

I have never tasted beef better than from Farmer Dan! We live it all! They are so professional and courteous and always respond to emails if I have a question. Cannot say enough about the flavor and freshness of their beef!

I’m now on my second order of beef and I love it. The meat is so much darker and richer then anything in the local grocery stores. The organic chicken is the best chicken I’ve had in a long time. Sunday’s are pot roast Sunday’s and the chuck roasts are the best second only to the briskets I’ve also gotten. Five stars from me!!

I was searching everywhere for a place where I could get organic, American grown ground meat and marrow bones and I came across this company. The meat did not disappoint! Even though I was supposedly getting organic ground meat from my local store (with a much heftier price tag), I could tell by the smell, texture and taste that this was a far superior product. I'll be back for more!

I purchased 2,  4-5 lb beef rib plates and they look amazing can’t wait to smoke them! They arrived a few days after I ordered them and the packaging was great the ribs were frozen solid. One pack was like 4.2 lbs and the other almost 5 lbs. Price was good about 10 lb, seems very fare for high quality meet! I’ll definitely be placing another orders

I usually don’t write reviews, but... here I go. I was in receipt of a package one evening and inside was 20 lbs of well packed frozen ground beef. I neatly stacked all but two pounds in the freezer. The next night I made meat sauce with a pound, half a jar of Rao’s and cauliflower gnocchi.... wow, no leftovers. I've never had a more tasty chuck roast before and I've had plenty. Don't over season so the natural beef flavor isn't disguised. It came out so tender and not stringy. The key was cooking it at a low temp, 275 - 300 F, for a long time, almost 1 hr/lb. Yup, long and slow. I basically used The Pioneer Woman recipe that was suggested.

The ground beef from Heartstone farm is always amazing. We look forward to our shipment and it’s great to know I have dinner in the freezer.

Had very high expectations for this meat, and they were exceeded. Can’t remember when I’ve had tastier beef - perfect marbling, would have sworn it was corn fed, but the taste was grass fed perfection. Not sure I’ll ever buy anywhere else...

Having been stung by door to door meat packers and other mail order suppliers I was initially hesitant. My first order included a roast, filet mignon and 5 lbs of ground beef. We started with grilling up the medallions of filet mignon. It was superb, delicious and tender. Tonight we grilled up cheeseburgers. When Farmer Dan sez this tastes like the beef we had as kids, he isn’t kidding. Despite having been frozen, these burgers tasted fresh and amazing. So juicy I probably should shower. The whole order arrived frozen solid at my front step in a environmentally responsible package (everything recycles, nothing for the landfill). As good as the filets were last Sunday, tonight’s ground beef made for a delicious taste of summer on a cold March night. Sunday we will attack the roast. My Wife has her Grandma’s “Beef Roast” recipe and we anticipate an epic meal. I still have a few pounds of ground beef in the freezer but I will be placing another order very soon. I have an electric slicer so I usually take a Heartstone Farm ribeye and shave it myself to make our steak & cheese subs. Recently I took advantage to try your new shaved steak. When I made dinner using your shaved steak my wife said the sandwiches seemed better this time. I'm not sure what cuts you use but the shaved steak was great!

Very good tasting beef. I would highly recommend this Ground beef. I have shared with some friends and I am waiting to here what she thinks of it as she is very picky. Update: I spoke with my picky friend today. They thought that the ground beef was very good. And they are planning to place an order. I forwarded them your contact info.

The meat is good. The only issue I've had is the packaging. When soaking the frozen meat to thaw for cooking, 2x the packaging has leaked water inside to the meat. Perhaps handling/packing the frozen meat more gently? Maybe the UPS guy is a little rough -- I don't know the cause of the issue. If this were not happening, definitely 5 star.

1. Shipping, I order at different dates, all arrived on time, frozen solid. I order from Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, all came with next day shipping. Upon open the package, they packed air tight, meat still frozen. 2. Price, I purchase frequently from Wholefood. This Ribeye price is much lower. 3. Quality, To bring the best out of this Ribeye, need to defrost the right way. First move the Ribeye from frozen to regular refrigeration for about 24 hours, then room temperature for about 1-2 hours. Best Ribeye I have so far with garlic sea salt marinated. Do not add A1 source or porterhouse steak source, it destroy the Ribeye. Last, I wish I live near Hearthstone Farm, so I can visit the store every weekend. Keep up the good meat guys.

I don't even know where to begin to say how much I loved, and was impressed by, this ground beef except that I was blown away!!! To be honest, I just didn't think that there could be all that much difference between this ground beef and the grass-fed ground beef that I had been purchasing at the grocery store but I couldn't have been more wrong. The flavor, texture, etc., literally everything about this beef is so superior it can't even really be described........you just have to try it for yourself to believe it.

The shipment arrived on time and the contents were what we all hope to get; frozen rock solid and clearly labeled which made my wife and I very happy. What came as a surprise and very appreciated was the pamphlet containing cooking directions for grass fed beef as we had never cooked it before. I researched for quite some me time before I made a decision to buy my meats from Heartstone Farm. I wanted to make sure my choice was the best one for my family and my beloved dog who eats organ meat in her diet. I decided to place an order for organ meat, hamburger patties and chicken. My concern was whether or not I had made a good decision regarding the quality of the meat and whether or not the meats were kept frozen. I got the order very quickly. I opened the box and sure enough all the meat was frozen solid. Their meat was sealed beautifully and the ice kept everything the way that I was hoping. I cooked the hamburgers and truthfully my husband and I love the flavor of the meat. I then cooked the beef heart for my pooch and while it was cooking she kept putting her nose in the air. After letting it slow cook I removed it and sliced it and Maddie(!my dog) was in heaven as she happily devoured it in her mix of meat. Beef heart, kale, butternut and brown rice. After she was done she wanted more. It is a very healthy addition to her diet. I ordered the beef liver also. I forgot to add that. The whole chicken will be cooked tomorrow and I am sure that it will be delicious as well. I know that Maddie will be having a chicken dinner also.😊 I will write a comment on the chicken after I try it. I am glad that I ordered a few packages of hamburgers because they are that good. This thin sliced beef is one of the most flavorful and versatile products from Heartstone. From Philly style cheesesteak sandwiches to Mongolian beef, it can be used in many ways, and it is our favorite! I have given many to friends who take it and run with their own recipes. We also will sizzle a little with butter as a special treat for the pups!

I've been a vegetarian for the past 3 years. I just switched to the Keto diet two months ago, and I tried vegetarian Keto, but I just couldn't get enough variety. I talked to the wife and after a long journey to find the most humanely raised 100% grass fed cattle we could, we found Heartstone farm. Well, I've never had beef liver or heart before, but after ordering both and preparing them in my trusty cast iron skillet with lots o butter, I am a very happy customer. Liver isn't an easy taste at first, but we put it into a chili and it tastes fantastic. The heart is phenomenal all by itself. Like a steak, but with something extra. Hard to describe. I have purchased the fabulous whole chicken and chicken thighs from the store in Dover but this was my first time in line order. It was easy to make my selections and my order showed up a few days later and ready for the freezer or to defrost. As usual, the chicken is fabulous. Wasn’t quite like “prime” rib eye but not bad for the price.

The product is first rate. I have placed two orders so far and the meat has been well packaged and it tastes great. I have had flat iron steak, which was excellent, and I have also had brisket, marrow bones, liver, and short ribs. All good. A little too much fat cap on the brisket, but I trimmed it off. However, that decreased the size considerably and I paid for more than that. I guess that's typical so I'm not mad. I'm in the marketing profession and I have to say, Heartstone does a great job in appearing to be a humble local farm. I suspect they are much more organized and bigger than that. The handwritten thank you note for my fist order was a nice touch. I'll definitely keep ordering.

Try the meats from here and you will never buy grocery store meat again. Delicious!

It was OK but have a felling that the cut (3-4lbs) was too fatty. Replying to the response to my original review: Dan, thank you for your comment and hints. Just to clarify - I wrote "too fatty" comparing it to what I usually get from a butcher. Maybe I am not a BBQ pit master but already prepared brisket few times (slow cooked) and that was exactly the reason I wanted this particular cut. I am well aware what fat can contribute to and believe me I trimmed it etc. A photo would have tell more than a thousand words. This cut was not just my cup of tea, was not bad nor great, only OK - therefore 3 stars, which I believe is fair judgement. Anyways, thank you for prompt delivery and impeccable customer service ! PS. I really liked the other items (tips, flank, skirt).
