My first purchase from Heartstone Farm included the Steak Salt from Maine Sea Salt Co. and ground beef. I made hamburgers using only the Steak Salt for seasoning, and they were excellent! The Steak Salt is so much easier to use than opening several containers of regular salt, pepper and other seasonings. Open the container, sprinkle it on and you're done. I can't wait to order a steak and give it a try. I'll be using this as a regular staple in my kitchen.

What’s not to love about grass fed beef. We only bought organic up until we had heartstone beef and will never go back. The taste is amazing with very little fat.

So I had a head injury were I fell and year later lost my taste and smell. Well I have a somewhat smell but limited is there. So I tried this beef not knowing anyt. I can surely taste this meat difference from any big supper chain Love this place

Sirloin steak was very flavorful and tender.

We have enjoyed receiving our first Monthly Box from Farmer Dan. We have already tried three different cuts and the meat was absolutely delicious. The pieces were hard frozen because they were well insulated and packed.

We ordered the Chicken Sampler, x2 this time. It really is the best chicken we've ever had! We even did a comparison by cooking a store-bought chicken breast and Farmer Dan's chicken breast together. We both could tell which was which. Store-bought had a lot of fat to cut off, texture was a bit tough, and a bit chewy. Farmer Dan's had no fat on or in the meat, texture was tender, and melted in your mouth. Thus the x2 order this time!

Easy ordering experience and am glad to support humanely treated animals free of antibiotics, hormones, etc but I wish you offered soy and corn-free chicken. Very difficult to find pasture-raised corn-and-soy-free poultry.

I found Heartstone through a Google search. I was looking to buy single-source meat that was organic and pasture raised. I have only cooked and eaten the chicken so far, but I am thawing some beef as I write this review. The chicken was very good! I cooked it for almost two hours at 350 and have enjoyed every bite.

I had tried the T-bone steak and it was great, then I decided to the Porterhouse Steak. WOW, it was the best! 5 stars for sure.

I looked forward to cooking my own short ribs. Decided to use my oven and long low temp. They were delicious and just as I expected. Used some stout beer, garlic and onion plus flour, salt and pepper. I live alone so one package was just right for 2 meals.

Cooked the ribs up in an Instant Pot with standard mirepoix, balsamic vinegar, red wine, soy and fish sauce, a touch of brown sugar, and a few select herbs/spices. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and had phenomenally rich flavor. I will definitely be ordering more in the future!

I slow baked the Grass Fed Chuck Roast with potatoes, carrots , onions with broth using my Le Crueset pot. It was delicious. Roast always tastes better on the second day so my husband and I are looking forward to tomorrow nights meal. Yummy!

Healthy at home box is a Wonderful box of beef and chicken cuts from Heartstone Farm. Cuts of meat arrive fully frozen in green recyclable packaging. These are beautiful cuts of meat that are so delicious and what a joy to know the farmer is local right here in Maine. There is an incredible difference between these meats that are organic and grass fed compared to industrialized raised cattle. Kudos to Farmer Dan !

Recently I was looking online for premium meats and saw some of the same old offerings and a few new ones. I found many of the price points ridiculous while others I was familiar with had always left me wanting as I did not consider them good value. I ran across Heartstone Farm and like what I saw and liked the pricing equally as much. One of the items I ordered was the Filet Mignon, so I ordered.. I was not disappointed. The filets arrived well frozen, packed well, and each individually sealed in thick sealed bags. The cuts were generous as well. I pan-seared for a few minutes and then finished them in the oven. The flavor of the meat was nice and beefy. Too often commercial beef lacks the robust flavor I look for as a result of how the animals are fed and treated. One of the most important aspects of raising beef cattle for consumption is how they are finished, meaning, what they are fed until processing. Farmer Dan's livestock is finished properly and it shows in the eating. Heartstone Farms beef tastes like beef is supposed to and is the best value I have found online. I highly recommend them.

While I am saving this for a day I can share it with my family I gotta say it looks like it’s in perfect condition and every time I open my freezer it makes my mouth water.

Hi, I'm a life-long meat hound turned (mostly)vegan. I still like a good steak a handful of times per year. I was always too cheap to walk into a steak house n pay $50 for a steak. So, I'd never had a good quality, 1.5" thick ribeye, before. O...M...G, they're delicious!! All the years I've wasted eating thin, lesser quality steaks can't be retrieved, sadly. However, I won't go back. Yes, $26 for a steak is a bit pricy (Fair prices IMHO, though). If you love a good steak, though. Buy just one of Dan's ribeyes, n try it. Taste how juicy n flavorful it is, w/an equally-tasty pan-seared crust. Then, you'll know the difference. The local farm I had been buying from currently charges $16/lb for uncertified, supposedly organic beef that wasn't handled as well. I also picked up my steaks. So, that farm didn't have the added expenses of Dan's excellent packing materials or shipping. Dan also sells less expensive cuts of meat. If you love meat? Give yourself a treat. You still may not get your girlfriend to try any, but you'll be happy. Enjoy.

I loved the veal shanks that I ordered. I ordered 4 since there is only two of us. We should be able to get four meals out of our order. Last night Valentines Day we cooked our first meal which was delicious. Our local market did not have veal shanks to make osso bunco so I googled veal shanks and saw Heartstone Farm. Glad I did.

Hearstone Farm beef is the tastiest. We discovered it as a result of having to limit our exposure in grocery stores as high risk candidates for COVID-19 The farms delivery is efficient and eco conscious. The meat arrives vacuum packed, labeled and ready to pop into the freezer. My daughter's family have perfected the short ribs and we recently shared a sumptuous brisket. The pandemic has had us cooking all of our meals at home so the slow cooker box has been perfect. It is comforting to have delicious smell of beef stew cooking all day. The stew beef melts in your mouth it is is so tender it melts in your mouth. I cannot wait to leave the pandemic behind but we will keep Heartstone Farm beef and Tide Mill chicken on the menu.

Your steak tips were an Excellent choice for making “ authentic Mexican street burritos.” Cut up steak tips ( small, bite size) cook on hot skillet with olive oil and carmalized onion. Add a little lime juice when almost all cooked. Heat soft taco shell, add slice of Swiss cheese to melt, add steak tip mixture, add more lime juice, slice of avocado, and a red and a green salsa to top it off. Delicious!

I decided to give grass fed beef a shot because that's all my friend would talk about. Sure enough, that has got to be one of the best tasting steaks I have ever tasted. The meat is very tender and even my kids loved the taste. Believe it or not, they were able to taste the difference between the cheap store bought meat and this meat. I highly recommend Heartstone Farm with their quick delivery and well packaged merchandise.

I had ordered from another pasture-raised meat company and was very happy with it, but decided to give Hearthstone Farm a try when I needed to order chicken again. I am so glad I did! First, I the box was packed so beautifully - very neat and organized and easy to unpack, with reusable ice packs as a surprise bonus. But the chicken - OMG! I ordered 2 chicken sampler packs containing boneless chicken breast, bone-in thighs, and spatchcock chicken, along with an additional spatchcock. I was pleasantly shocked by the size of each package of chicken, especially the spatchcocks which were almost 5 lbs each! I cut up and baked one of the spatchcocks with just simple seasonings. The raw chicken was such a beautiful pink color and the tenderness and taste were out of this world! And I have enough leftover chicken for another 2 meals of casseroles and/or tacos. I could not be happier with the quality and service and am looking forward to trying the beef! I am so grateful to the farmers and everyone else involved for making it possible to purchase sustainably and humanely raised high quality meat and poultry directly from family farms.

The most flavorful beef I have eaten, but there was too much silver skin still attached which needed to be trimmed. The steaks were cut uneven with one side thinner than the other and one of the 8oz. Steaks came in two pieces.
