We have been "delighted" with the quality & flavor of the meats that we have ordered. They arrive almost immediately, I get notifications of where the package is and they are well packaged. Received my order in perfect condition ~ made burgers for lunch the following day ~ and made a pot roast with a chuck roast for company ~ love this beef ~ flavorful, tender and juicy 💜 I will be ordering more chuck roast to try different recipes. I have to say I never write reviews but we truly enjoyed this beef and will be a long time customer.

Wow. Just wow. I have been wanting to buy quality meat for so long but simply struggle to make extra trips to a butcher or farm. Not knowing a lot about meat or butchering it could honestly be a little awkward trying to ask the dumb questions I need to ask to get the meat I want at a butcher. Also, I'm never sure how quickly the butcher shop meat was frozen or how long it has been sitting in the case, whereas getting it from Heartstone I know it was well cared for and you can easily see how fresh it is. The resources on this webpage have taught me so much about meat, cuts, and even how to cook different beef cuts to make them taste best. Also, in the time of COVID getting a delivery right to my front door has been wonderful and stress free. I also like that I can set up an alert to go off the morning of the day it is being delivered so I remember to check for it. The customer service is amazing like that. My husband grew up in central Maine and he says the meat tastes just like it did when he was a kid eating farm fresh grazed beef. It is everything we have wanted, done well, and at a sensible price for extremely high quality.

Had the brisket this weekend, all I can say is AWESOME!

Recently i bought a chicken and beef package from Heatstone Farm and it's simply delicious. Meat and chicken simply taste different versus the usual meat you can buy elsewhere. Is real meat from happy chicken and beef. My wife and my daughter loved it so I'm pretty sure it's not going to be the last package I order from them. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. The meat arrives perfectly packaged at good temperature in a reciclable box. I was worried about the way it was going to arrive and packaged but they have that part perfectly solved.

I purchased 2 Porterhouse steaks, 2 Filet Mignon's, 2 strip steaks, and 1 chuck roast. They arrived fast,were frozen solid and were packed beautifully. We have tried the Porterhouse and the Filets. The Porterhouse Steaks are about 1/2" thick (I'm used to at least 1-1/2" Thick so right off the bat I was pretty disappointed). But I figured, let's try them, they could be great . . . sadly it was not to be. The whole thing (strip & filet) were tasty BUT just as tough as nails. So that was a big thumbs down. Next we tried the filets on the grill (the Porterhouses were just too thin for the grill, at a half inch). The Fillets cooked up great and smelled wonderful . . . however, they too were just as tough as nails! What a disappointment! We haven't tried the strip steaks or the chuck roast yet but I'm pretty nervous at this point. I feel bad writing this review because I really want to support local farmers/producers BUT if they are going to charge premium prices I expect a premium product and sadly, so far I feel really let down by how tough the meat was. A Filet should be just as tender as can be! I have been able to cut many Filets with my fork, on these 2 we had to saw through them with our serrated steak knives -- no way a fork would do it! Also, I emailed the company to ask if we might be able to get a 1-1/2" special cut Porterhouse but 5 days later I'm still waiting for a reply. Perhaps it's just as well at this point . . .

The Ribeye steaks we bought and grilled were unbelievably juicy and tender. The flavor was incredible, we used a small amount of salt and pepper only and they were fantastic! Thank you Farmer Dan! Chris Gardner

Phenomenal! So juicy! First pre-cooked in the instant pot, heated homemade sauce on the stove, covered the meat, then into the oven until flavor soaked throughout. Amazing! The best, freshest ribs we’ve ever had. So tasty!

We ordered our first box this month and the only regret we have is not ordering sooner! The meat is absolutely delicious and the steaks are so tender!!

Enjoying all the beef. The shaved beef is wonderful in subs and tacos. Hamburg has always been tasty for burgers on grill. Would highly recommend trying the beef!

Order came exactly as told, nicely packed in freeze pack box. I like the eco packaging, too. They included a nice little page on cooking for the various cuts.

These wings are really really good. You can taste the difference and how fresh they are... This is excellent quality chicken! I will definitely be re-stocking when I run low. Can't wait to try the thighs now!

These Spatchcock Chickens are the way to go! Grill them, Smoke them, Bake them......we tried it all and they always come out tender and juicy.

I recently ordered porterhouse and ribeye steaks from Heartstone Farm, and turned to the porterhouse first shot. Prepped with salt & pepper searing one side (stove top ) and finishing with butter and garlic this steak was melt in your mouth moist and tender. The marbling on this cut was generous and even the sirloin side of the T was tender and flavorful. Ive been a fan of porterhouse steaks for years but this cut was hands down the "best" i've tasted - and to my preference 100% grass fed. Can't wait to cook up the ribeyes !!! Local for me in NH and reasonably priced Heartstone, has a customer for "life".

The Chicken Wings from Tide Mill were so delicious. Their size ranged from Average to larger than average, but everyone was bursting with natural flavor. I'll have to try a whole chicken next order.

This is our second monthly box—I note this point, because clearly we kept the subscription after receiving the first box! Everything arrives carefully packed and still thoroughly frozen. The packages of meat are vacuum sealed, which is great because it means they won’t develop freezer burn (that’s if they were to stick around that long—an unlikely prospect!). Recently, we have especially enjoyed the ground beef not only in burgers, but also in a Greek baked ziti recipe that came out beautifully. (I almost feel badly mixing the meat in with anything else, because it’s so good by itself!) Anyway, please consider this a ringing endorsement of Hearthstone Farm’s monthly Farm Box. They’re customer service is also terrific.

The ground beef is delicious, the beef ribs were untrimmed, no pre made burgers at all. Half of the quarter share was ground beef, more steaks and stew meat would have been preferred. Chicken is wonderful. I didn’t know I could specify half burgers and half ground beef instead of just ground beef 1 pound packages.

Never having heard of a Spatchcock Chicken before I was intrigued upon seeing it listed on the Heartstone Farm site. I purchased it along with 100% Grass Fed Marrow Bones, and 14-Day Dry Aged Premium Ground Beef and let me tell you my family was blown away with each and EVERY item of my purchase! Since this is a review for the chicken though, I will focus my remarks on that product. I selected a simple recipe and this chicken did not disappoint. It was tender, juicy, and 5 stars+ deeeelicious! We immediately decided at first bite that we would order one for our small nuclear family Thanksgiving dinner this November 2020. THANK YOU Heartstone Farm for introducing us to such quality and mouthwatering chicken and beef delights. Our puppy sends along his thanks as well, as the bones have been making day crate training a lot more palatable for him!

I love the beef from this farm and really love that it’s from a single far, rather than 5 or 10, so we get consistent, terrific quality. On top of that, the staff is friendly, helpful and always has a can-do attitude. And sometimes I even get to talk to Farmer Dan. That would never happen with Frank Perdue.

If I could create a farm, a product and a customer service to try to impress my own self with, I couldn’t do as good of a job as Farmer Dan and Heartstone Farm does. I’m still blown away. Everything arrived perfectly frozen, on the day he said it would and with reaffirming communication from order date until delivery and even follow up check ins that it arrived to my approval. Our 1/4 cow only arrived a few days ago, but the T-bones we ate were there most flavorful I can remember ever eating (I only use salt to season). The ground beef was just as good. Can’t wait to eat our way through the freezer full of meat we have. I can’t express enough how happy I was with everything. My only concern with leaving this review is that everybody will figure this place out. Just leave some FOR ME!! : )

The ground beef is the best I’ve ever had. Very very good flavor. The biggest thing I’ve noticed when making burger patties is my hands are not covered in slimy white film after, opposed to store bought ground beef.

I also purchased the 14 day aged ground beef, I haven’t had the opportunity to try it yet, but I'm positive I won’t be disappointed! I can’t wait to try their chicken and roast! While the quality and taste of the meat were very good, I thought the steak should have been at least twice as thick!

The flavor and freshness of healthy Grass-fed Heartstone Beef as well as the convenience of delivery and customer service is something my family and I will look forward to for many times to come. We also found it very helpful to follow the cooking tips that Farmer Dan includes in the package and have been enjoying the really nice gifts included with our shares!

For some unknown reason, Heartstone Farm’s Hanger Steak is amazing. We have a fantastic local butcher, so it’s not like we don’t have access to excellent meat. But we love to order from Farmer Dan. And what could be better than a perfectly cooked hanger stead with fries? The answer is “nothing!"

Dan's beef is great and Flat Iron Steak is no exception. It is reasonably soft, has some marbling, and the taste is rich.

I’m not a fan of liver..BUT, I eat it because it’s probably the most nutrient dense food on the planet. These chicken livers were so “clean” (you can see a difference) that you can tell they aren’t a typical store bought chicken liver. Packaged and vacuum sealed. Perfection in a bag. Will definitely order again when I run out.

After looking for a good source of grass fed beef, my wife and I decided to make the venture up to Heartstone Farm retail store. The facility was immaculate, Farmer Dan is extremely welcoming and very passionate about his farm. He spoke to us for a good period of time explaining all about his process, and what makes Heartstone a must. We purchased a couple ribeye's, short ribs, and a chicken to sample. The ribeye was one of the best that I have ever tasted. The chicken was delicious and tender. I have yet to try the short ribs. We have just recently subscribed to the Chicken and Beef Box. The order arrived 2 days after ordering, nice turnaround. The packaging was very thoughtful concerning composting and recycling. Ice packs were still cold and the meat was frozen solid. We have already had the hamburgers that came in the box, and the flavor was amazing. I am a fan of Heartstone and of Farmer Dan. Thank You!!

The beef and chicken arrived in a nice box. I was impressed that the packaging is eco friendly and compostable. I am reusing the ice blankets that were in the box. I had ordered a meat box from another company for the seafood. It took more days, the box arrived soggy and the dry ice was gone. I now know that supporting very local (like the next state over) is important for these shipping reasons. I am very pleased with the meat quality and taste. I love the shaved beef. I will definitely be ordering again. I love supporting someone fulfilling their dreams and will continue to do so. The email communications and texting that the meat will be on my door step that day is super convenient and allows for planning.
