The bones were what I expected but if they would have had sizes that would have helped or pictures of how much a lbs of bones are so I can buy more accurately. I give them to my dog but some times I like to cook with them so smaller ones would be perfect for cooking and the larger ones for my dog. Thank you for being there and your great service! I just received an order form Heartstone Farm that included a Whole Organic Chicken. I roasted it yesterday and my family LOVED it! I kept it simple, just put a little salt in the cavity, roasted at 350 degrees for 90 minutes, basting a few times, and taking the roaster cover off for the last 30 minutes. It was plump, juicy, and SO TASTY and TENDER! We are looking forward to the leftovers and I am going to continue to get my chicken from Heartstone Farm!

Fantastic, fresh meats! Not only is the meat ethical, but it is very delicious. We were impressed with the quality and cuts. We especially enjoyed the flank steaks, chicken breast, and whole chicken.

I used the flank steak first. Streak on the BBQ with a nice basic marinate. The steak already is full in flavor. I usually like my steaks well done, but I did medium well and it was delicious. So I ordered two chicken breasts, but I never expected anything this good. So big the two breasts were 1.4 lb! I made an old family favorite chicken bruschetta, breaded chicken with bruschetta and mozzarella on top. it was more juicy and sinful than any I've ever made in the past. I will be ordering all my chicken from here in the future. Can't wait to try the whole chicken! I love all the meat I get from farmer Dan.

I kind of already reviewed these with my other review. But, as I stated there, I used these to make bone broth which I drink two cups daily. I roasted the bones and used both the bones and the marrow in my broth. The color was so dark. The flavor was rich and not greasy. So it did not give me a queasy feeling like the broth I make with butcher-bought bones. I don't know how often I will make bone broth when I can afford and find it online and in stores. But as long as I am making it myself, I am sold on the bones from Heartstone Farm!

We have made several meals of marinated kebabs and these are delicious and tender. One night I was scrambling to make something and decided to do kebabs and they marinated for all of five minutes and were still out of this world. The care Farmer Dan and his team devote to consistency in product and care in packing is blue ribbon awardable! If you haven’t tried the kebabs they are definitely a great buy. The kebabs are large and I often slice them in half to spread the meal further!.

The meat was shipped on time and arrived packed up nicely in ice. All products were vacuum sealed and clearly labeled. I live in MA and have tried other local farms in the past. But the packaging and offerings were lacking so I stopped. I follow an IG account who posted about Heartstone Farm. When I saw they had a Healthy At Home Box, I decided to try them. After placing my order, the next day I placed an additional order. Both orders arrived in the same box (YAY), on dry ice, fully frozen. So far we have only tried the beef bones (made bone broth) and the burgers. The bone broth was not greasy like I've made with store-bought bones. The flavor and color were so rich! As for the burgers, O.M.G. All we seasoned them with was coconut aminos, lemon, salt and pepper. The texture and flavor was amazing! I'm going to place another burger order and maybe some steaks very soon!! We are definitely SOLD on Heartstone Farm!

Tasty, the perfect size, came well frozen. I really like the fact of the low shipping cost all the way to New Jersey.

I have purchased over time many of the various cuts of meat offered by Farmer Dan. This week I tried his steak tips for the first time. Not sure how best to prepare them I turned to a recipe I found in The Silver Palette cookbook. Beef Stroganoff with flat noodles. If you haven’t tried the steak tips I recommend you do so. The beef was nearly as tender as a filet and has a terrific flavor.

This chicken was very flavorful and the perfect size for stock and chicken pot pies. It was delivered the day after it shipped and was packaged with eco-friendly insulation and cold packs.

When I write this I’m very compassionate about farmer Dan and his love and beef for the community. It takes a strong soul to believe in what’s right for animals and humans and he does it 100%. I’ve even bought grass fed beef from other situations in grocery stores and I realize it’s not the same because my body has a very huge reaction. When you want grass fed beef and you believe that your body needs protein this is the way to go. I get it...it’s hard but for some of us we need more protein and what the quality for the animal and the human. So if you need to purchase beef please do with animals that were eating grass!!!
