We love getting our beef locally from Heartstone. The prices really aren’t that much more than the grocery store and the quality is 10 times better. I like that they’ve switched to eco packaging.

Hi folks, I just tried beef kidney for the first time. I marinaded it for about 2 hours in olive oil & balsamic vinegar, then grilled in hot avocado oil for just a few minutes. Definitely easy to prepare. Not bad, a little bit like liver, My wife couldn't look at it , but my son and I enjoyed it. Next time I'll try mixing bits of it in some hamburger meat. I definitely like eating organ meats they are very healthy & good for you.

Hello, Farmer Dan, I received the chicken which was well packed, and after removing from the package I cooked a delicious chicken soup. I was amazed at the taste compared to store bought chicken. But the test was coming, and that is to see if I like the taste of the chicken the following day. Well, I heated it up and I have to admit it did not go to waste. I really enjoyed another bowl of soup. Farmer Dan, every time I've bought chicken and I bought from different companies that deliver to local stores and supermarkets, the chicken seems to taste alright the moment you cook it but the following day the taste changes even after dousing with hot pepper to kill the bad taste. I eventually wind up throwing the meat away. But with your chicken it's different. they're fresh and don't have the weird taste. Thank you, God bless. Cristina.

What a joy to find such a high-quality 100% grass-fed oxtails to purchase here in Maine! I have to say that I have purchased grass-fed beef oxtail in Colorado from the best butchers, but Farmer Dan’s is far superior! My husband and I have enjoyed oxtail ever since we first tried it nearly 30 years ago at an upscale restaurant by the name of Salish Lodge, that sits by a waterfall in Washington. The award-winning chef had cooked it to perfection and made an oxtail dumpling atop a stack of scalloped potatoes served with a rack of lamb. The first oxtail I purchased from Farmer Dan, I seared in my cast-iron and made a simple soup so that we could fully taste the quality of the meat. We were quite amazed there could be such a difference! What an exceedingly pleasant delight! Since then, I have purchased three more large packages and enjoyed another, this time making a full-on “Beef Bourguignon” type oxtail stew! As you can imagine it was luscious to say the least! I have mixed feelings about leaving a review, because I want to secure a supply for ourselves, but I will do so because I would love to see others enjoy the experience of this wonderful farm with the most excellent customer service and beef that is not just the best we’ve tasted in Maine, but the best we have tasted anywhere!

I bought these bones to make Gom Tang (Korean Oxtail Bone Broth) and they were high quality and meatier than other places. Keep in mind that they come fully intact (it's about 9" in length/3 separate bones) but as you cook down, the bone joints will come apart and it will look like the example photo. I'm sure you could also defrost and cut the bones at the joints as well. While I was initially surprised by the size when the oxtails arrived, since cooking with it, I'm seeing the value in having the tail intact. So much collagen!

Great Ground Beef!! We ordered 5 lbs of ground beef and it was shipped and delivered pretty quick. Cooked 2 lbs today for Chili. Fantastic taste and very lean! Will definitely order more in the future!

Well we haven't tried the patties yet, but we did cook the 2 filet's last night and they were fantastic! Just like the instructions, you have to sear for a minute, and then bring temps down low. Cooks fast and was super tender and flavorful. You can really taste the difference. Thanks Farmer Dan! We will cook up the patties during the week!

I’m a huge fan of Heartstone Farms. Always fast, high quality grass fed and finished meats!! This flank steak is perfect as fajita meat and the like. Best way s we know it’s clean meat... and every cut we’ve had we’ve enjoyed Do yourself a favor and give Farmer Dan’s meats a try!

My hamburger patty tasted so amazing. I noticed way less of a fatty taste, less fat drippings than regular grocery bought hamburger which usually sits like a brick in my stomach. This burger digested smoothly and did not make me feel sluggish. Best by far that I have tasted. Looking forward to purchasing more from Heartstone Farm.

As per your request for the review on the meat thermometer, we did not receive it, it must have been an oversight, we did not contact because with all that is going on with covid, thought it was a small issue, though would love to have one. I give a 5 star review because as a first time customer of your beef, I must say we are very happy with the product, packing and taste. We have enjoyed the ribeye -excellent, the aged burgers- again excellent, and just last night prepared the brisket- excellent. Will be ordering again soon, hopefully your fillet will be available soon. Sorry I couldn't give the review on the thermometer.

The raw oxtails were not cut up at the joints .and did not come as advertised in the picture above . The oxtails had to be cooked and divided after partial cooking . I made a Pepperpot ( Guyanese dish) . It turned out surprisingly OK . The tails did not have much fat which was a plus . I might try them again ,

My husband spent the afternoon smoking our chicken. It came out excellent! The chicken was large enough we were able to have it the next night with vegetables and gravy over homemade biscuits. Well worth the price, we will certainly be buying another. :)

Amazing quality bones, that make great bone broth and even better “bone marrow cheese”, these are pure marrow bones which are hard to find. Highly recommend!! Great service as well, customer service responds fast.

Just cooked the oxtail. First I wanted to cut them into smaller sections. Watched a how-to video. Then trying to decide which recipe to choose. They are very popular. I decided to try a Mexican oxtail soup. It is still cooking, but smells wonderful! 😁
