Fantastic turkey!

Received the Vermont Turkey frozen solid put it into the fridge and had plenty of time to thaw properly. Spatchcocked the turkey and put it in my smoker for 4.5 hours at 250 degrees after an 18 hour brine. The best turkey ever!

Came too early

I had to take the turkey to my daughter’s house. It would not fit in my freezer . It would have been thawed too long at my house. Will order from a different farm next year

Ground turkey breast is great

I like to substitute ground turkey for ground beef whenever I can to cut down on fats. This all-natural ground turkey is so much healthier than what is in most stores, and I like the convenience of ordering it from Hearthstone Farm where I buy all our meat.

Ground Beef

I am very happy with my order from Heartstone Farm. The ground beef is excellent, much better taste and texture than supermarket beef. I also feel much better about the fact that it is grass fed and grass finished with no anti biotics. I'll be a customer for a long time to come!

Small Farm All Natural Turkey

My role is the cook for all family dinners. I became a customer of Farmer Dan about a year ago. When I saw he was offering an all natural turkey we ordered one for Thanksgiving. I did my usual brining method and cooked it at 300 degrees and it came out perfect. The flavor was excellent and many of my family agreed with me that this was the best turkey we have had over the last thirty years. Thank you Farmer Dan! I used your directions to cook our 14 lb. turkey and it was probably the easiest and best turkey I have served in over 40 years. Juicy inside and crisp skin! Thawed precisely when your directions said it would. Five stars and I will order again, of course!

The way the meat was packaged was amazing . Everything stayed frozen and labeled, which was nice due to us liking different types of steak cuts. The quality of steak and chicken is absolutely outstanding. How red the meat is, is just simply something you don’t get everywhere you go. I’m so excited to keep stocking our freezer with the meat!

Love Short Ribs

I braised these Short Ribs by searing all sides in Avocado Oil, then sauteed Onions & Mushrooms with S&P and Thyme, added couple Tbsp flour and 1 pkt Brown Gravy mix, 32-oz carton Beef Broth and a Bay Leaf.

Just Like Homemade

The pie shipped well in a sturdy box. It arrived still fully frozen and perfectly sealed. There's no need to defrost as this is shipped as an unbaked pie and can be baked from frozen making this an easy to prepare dessert - just pop it in the oven. Once baked and ready to serve, the crust came out very flaky and the blueberry filling was perfect...flavorful and not runny at all. This pie is just like homemade. I would recommend this pie.

This is the first time we have decided to go beyond the “norm” of grocery shopping and buy our meat directly. I must admit, it felt a little risky at first. Our Thanksgiving Feast

We will definitely order a Stonewood Farm Vermont Turkey for Christmas and again next year! We followed Farmer Dan's tips: it thawed perfectly, we cooked it on a bed of veggies ( a first), tented it until the last 30 minutes when we raised the temp. Perfection.

Milder than others

We've been trying to incorporate organ meat into our regular diet. Some blends have a very strong smell and/or taste that some family members don't prefer. This blend seemed to have a more mild flavor than some we've tried. Will order again.

I placed an order for 4 blueberry pies, the ones that are from Valley View Orchard Pies. It's on the website and I placed an order for 4. Unfortunately they sent me 4 different pies. I emailed customer service and they apologized and sent out a new shipment for the correct pies. Well they arrived today and they sent me 4 wrong pies again... seriously? Twice now? Who works there? Won't be ordering from Heartstone ever again.

Fall-off-the-bone tender

Made a savory braised short rib by slow cooking them with carrots, onions and celery. The beef shed very little water compared with grocery-bought ones, and cooked more quickly as well. End result was a rich, beefy flavor with bones that completely separated from the meat. The quality of the meat shines with every bite.

Amazing sausages! Coming from someone who is Italian, I know good sausages when I taste them and Hearstone's are truly quality! I have seared them in a pan and cooked them in my tomato sauce and my family absolutely loved them. They came up very tender braising in the sauce for 4 hours. These are a regular order in my monthly subscription and I would recommend them to anyone! Good work Farmer Dan!

We really enjoyed this sausage!

There were several things that I appreciated about this sausage. The first is the packaging, I like throwing away only a small plastic bag rather than the plastic package and meat pad of store bought turkey sausage. Much less trash. And the sausage itself smelled great, cooked up beautifully, and we really liked that it was not over seasoned. It went well with the dish we put it in and was nice and tender. We loved it! And will reorder soon.
