Given that we wanted to provide clean and healthy food for our growing family, and support small, local farms, we were excited to learn about Heartstone Farm. We recently started a monthly subscription which includes a pound of the country smoked bacon. While not something we eat everyday, bacon is a staple in our fridge/freezer and I must say, this bacon is fantastic. In fact we may have to swap something else out and up our subscription to two pounds!

What a great find! So far I have had the ground beef and NY Sirloin. They were lean and tasted delicious and fresh. It was nice to know the meat was raised and processed locally and not handled several times. Also, delivery was very prompt. I will definitely buy again!

Best Meat Ever

I would normally eat steak out in a restaurant but always felt very heavy after eating and felt like my digestive system was working overtime to digest it. Never have that feeling after eating a steak from Heartstone and knowing it’s all organic and grass fed is the biggest bonus. Love it and highly recommend 👍👍

Best Pot Roast!

I am a a first time customer, and made the pot roast in my slow cooker. It was the BEST I have ever eaten ( and, I am no Spring chicken!) it was tender and flavorful. There was very little waste. I look forward to trying the other products I bought.

Tender, flavourful and easy to prepare. Seasoned with salt and cooked in a skillet at medium heat with avocado oil. Goes nicely with leafy greens or a salad and a medium bodied red wine.

Great Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage

I recently starting purchasing meat from Heartstone Farm. In my first order, I ordered the Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage. I was looking for a healthier version (less calories) from pork sausage and I was pleasantly surprised. The taste is good, satisfies craving for a morning sausage (or lunch/dinner). I formed them into patties, but I think I'm going to try making little meatballs next time. I recommend this selection as an alternative to other meats when you just want something light and tasty.

We decided to make the switch to Heartstone Farm's grass-fed beef for a few reasons:1) Health benefits vs. regular store bought grain-fed beef2) Farmer Dan treats his animals with the best care you could imagine (Check our the website)3) We wanted to support a local farmer with our same ideals regarding food sourcingIn August 2018, my first quarter of Heartstone Farm beef was hand-delivered by Farmer Dan himself. I wasn't sure what to expect, as this was my first experience with high quality grass-fed beef.It is now Thanksgiving, and my girlfriend and I couldn't be happier with our purchase. We have thoroughly enjoyed all cuts of steaks including, ribeyes, filet mignon, t-bones, porterhouse, and more! The beef is lean, but still tender and full of flavor, which is most likely a direct result of the “dry-age” process.The quarter share came with around 40 lb of burger, and we have used it for just about everything, from Plain ol' burgers (which are amazing) to tacos, and spaghetti. There is barely any fat to drain, and the meat has a delicious flavor that you just don't get from the supermarket.There are also a lot of roasts and other misc cuts included in a quarter share. We cooked 1/2 chuck roasts with garlic, onion, potatoes, and carrots, and the meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender. We had so much beef in the first quarter, we were able to give our parents some as a gift, and they also thought it was delicious. Now that it is Winter, we can't wait to try out the stew meat in my Dad's chili recipe, or a nice beef stew.If you are thinking about trying some of this beef, you won't regret it! We still have a bunch left from our first quarter, and our next quarter is being delivered next week. Moist and tender chicken leg

The chicken leg quarters were tender and meaty with a nice texture and flavor. They were not tasteless like so many of the chicken from our local market I was buying. I was first drawn into the quality and care the farmers were committed to in raising their chickens and I wasn’t disappointed with the final product. Hello, I was introduced to your farm and beef products by my son in law. I have been looking into a CSA or local farm to source my meat. I took a picture of the packaging and came home and googled the farm. After reading about farmer Dan and knowing that this was a local business in Maine, I knew I wanted to try it. I bought chicken, turkey, beef and soup. I have not been disappointed at all! When the product arrived, I was so surprised to see how well it was packaged. I was also kept up to date with the progress of the order, which I found helpful. I would rather know that I am supporting local businesses and humanely raised animals that are not loaded with antibiotics and treated poorly. I will continue to support this business.

The beef is by far some of the best I have ever had and I think we've been spoiled for life!I made some beef stew in the crock pot with the stew meat over the weekend and the other night used the hamburg to make taco meat for taco salads.What I've learned is that I under purchased. I'll have to purchase a larger share next go around and pick up some pieces here and there along the way. After receiving all that hamburg I figured there was no way I would go through it all, but here I am a good portion through it already. Chili, burgers, meatballs, meatloaf, tacos, etc.I don't normally leave reviews for really anything, either good nor bad. This I'm making an exception! This is too good not to share. It really is worth the money is case anyone reading this was wondering.

I ordered 30 and after eating the first two I ordered 30 more! As Someone that enjoys lifting weights with a good understanding of the value of quality protein, the comparison to the grocery store garbage from overseas, glued together or even lab grown meat is night and day! The shipping is extremely fast and arrives very well packed with multiple cups of dry ice still unfrozen. Excellent Choice

I knew the ground turkey breast would be a healthier choice than what I was buying in the grocery stores because it was coming from a farm that uses humane and ethical practices. I browned it and when that was done I could just see that it looked better than what I was buying. Then I took a taste and it did not disappoint. This ground turkey actually tasted "cleaner" than the others. it wasn't rubbery or have bits of "chewy" things. I added it to chili and it was delicious.

Grilled to perfection

I was rushing around to try to get dinner cooked and served before a Indiana Fever game started that I really wanted to watch. I put a little coffee and spice dry rub on the steak and slapped it on a hot grill. After getting the corn on the cob started I turned the steak. It was caramelized and beautifully grilled- marked. After another few minutes, I returned to the grill to a dulcet sizzle. I took the steak off the heat,let it rest briefly and served. It was tender and juicy and perfect. There were no leftovers to be had!

My Aunt sent us a package of meat from Heartstone Farm--best present- makes for a lovely gift or, just treat yourself to some good meat!We only tried the roast so far and it was delicious- tender and juicy. Can't wait to try the chuck meat and stewing meat.
