I love all of the meat that I have received from Heartstone farm. Ground Turkey is wonderful. I substitute it for ground beef in many dishes and my hubby never notices. The chicken is also fabulous. Nothing better than local farm raised.

My new favorite cut

This was my first time eating flat iron steak. I saw it on the Heartsone site and thought it looked like a nice cut. I was blown away by the flavor and texture of it. Ribeye and skirt steak have been my favorite cuts until now. I marinated it like I typically would a skirt steak, because that's what all of the grill recipes I found suggested, but next time I may change it up. The flat iron has a rich, buttery flavor from the marbling and a texture to die for. I plan on ordering a bunch more of these and making it part of my regular rotation. If you have never had flat iron before, do yourself a favor and grill up one of these. You don't know what you're missing!

First Box

Box arrived and everything was packaged perfectly to get in to our freezer. Had the Steaks the other night and they were juicy and even though they were frozen ahead of grilling they were one of the best tasting steaks we have had in a long time. Fresh and Flavorful! I am so excited to try the chicken and pork chops.

My family really loves the meat. It has a great taste and the burgers are some of the best we have eaten. Can't wait to get my next order.

Excellent bacon and distinctly different in taste than your standard store bought mass produced bacon. Meaty and satisfying. My family is sticking to Heartstone Farm’s authentic bacon.

I bought ancestral ground beef and two butterfly chickens. The beef is delicious and I feel better knowing it's healthier with the organ meat ground into it. The chickens have a surprising amount of meat on them for small birds. My order arrived quickly and frozen solid. I'll be happy to order again.

Unfortunately we found the steak to be quite tough even after marinating for 6 hours.

We are a bacon loving household and this bacon gets gobbled up so quickly that I just had to increase how much I receive in my subscription. Delicious!!

Not what you are used to!

This was our first time ever NOT buying our chicken at the grocery store. We made these legs the way we always do - pan sear in cast iron then in the oven @ 420° for 40 minutes. This time with a honey dijon glaze. The taste of the chicken was simply cleaner - none of that wet chickeny taste that turns your stomach half way through a meal (I know you know what Im talking about). It had a firmer texture throughout and a more full flavor profile. I will never enjoy yellow styrofoam tray shrink wrap soggy packed chicken again.

Finally!

I wouldn’t eat chicken for months due to quality available in stores. I am so glad I found Heartstone Farm and it’s variety of meat choices. Finally! Delicious, moist, tender, flavorful chicken grown and processed in this country without all the “extras”.

Bone are a big hit!

We love the large marrow filled bones we received from Heartstone. There are 2 large bones in one package. We give one to our dog for a healthy treat that doesn't splinter. The second bone we make a quart of the best bone broth. Great value and great product.

Better Late Than Never

The package I ordered arrived incomplete. It took more than a week for it to arrive in the first place. It took an additional week for the chicken quarters to arrive. Everything was frozen solid both times. What we have cooked has been wonderful. Customer service resolved the issues. I expected a phone call and/or a more personal response to the problem. More clarity on shipping and arrival window would also have been greatly appreciated. That said, I did not cancel my subscription and will give Heartstone another go. I recommend the quality and hope kinks get worked out or perhaps it was just a fluke. 5 stars for the meat. Deducted stars are for the incomplete order and lack of personal customer service. Perhaps some of that falls on me for using email to report the problem.

This turkey cones in easy packaging, and defrosted well. Fresh white meat., which I use in pasta dishes, meatballs, chili and meat loaf. Delicious

Premium ground beef

From the color to the flavor, everything is different than what you buy at the grocery store. Smash burgers to tacos to meatballs, everything is better with quality meat and Heartstone Farms has delivered on every item I have tried. I mainly switched over to this ground beef along with the other cuts because organic pasture raised 100% grass fed beef is a superfood. Almost an even split of omega 3 to omega 6's with a host of vitamins and minerals that are more bio-available than other sources. Will always keep a few pounds stocked in the freezer.

Did not know what to expect

I defrosted the ground turkey and didn't know what to make with it since Turkey is usually dry. I decided to make Turkey Marsala over pasta. This ground turkey was not dry or tasteless at all. Will order again!

Finally, real beef!

After purchasing ground beef from local supermarkets for several years I made the decision to invest my money into a product that I hoped would be real 100% choice ground beef. I was not disappointed! The flavor of the hamburger patties is excellent and tastes nothing like the filler and dye saturated patties that I had been used to.

Wow! I ordered these short ribs because they were discounted. What a treat! I slow roasted them and they were truly delicious! I have canceled my dubscriptions to two other grass fed meat companies. Heartstone is my #1 go to now. Doesn’t hurt one bit that they’re from the Great Stste of Maine! ❤️

Excellent Pork Chops

We enjoyed the pork chops very much. They were a perfect size and the meat was supurb. We baked them with seasoned crumbs, parmesan cheese and butter. They were tender and delicious. We will certainly continue to get these chops going forward. I have another recipe that I want to try which uses onions, butter, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese and white wine. In both of these recipes, you must brown the chops first. It makes a huge difference. Baking preserves the tenderness and the juices. Thank you Farmer Dan for offering this choice for out meat box.

Best Chicken

I did the ribeye right away and it was so tender I really couldn't believe it. Just really something that I had no idea I missed so much. To be honest I don't know if I've ever had one that good but if I did it was a very long time ago!!!
