Great deal on great meat!

We've been ordering all of our meat from Heartstone Farm for a while now. This fall we decided to purchase a 1/4 share of beef. During the purchase we learned that we'd be getting a free box of chicken and pork because we bought the share. We are so impressed with what came. We got a whole chicken, some legs, boneless breasts, pork chops, ground pork, bacon and breakfast sausage. Not just one of each, but at least two of each! We worked with customer service on delivery, they adjusted shipping a day ahead for us to accommodate our household schedule. We are very pleased with our freezer full of trustworthy meat! We'll be back for sure.

PorkFest

This pork turned out so juicy and mouthwatering after a a bit of spice, then browning it in a frying pan, then all day in a slow cooker, topped with thick onions and sweet potatoes near the end. We're loving these leftovers.

Ancestral beef blend

The beef blend had a surprisingly strong flavor. We used it to make hamburgers for the grill. I think it would have been received better by my family if I had used it to make a seasoned meatloaf. I liked the smooth texture.

Tender and Delicious

The Ancestral Blend is awesome. I love the idea of getting the vitamins of organ meat without needing to try to choke down a beef liver. This is a perfect balance. It's got a slightly more 'mineral-y' taste than the regular ground, on account of the 10% organ meats, and it really gives the ground beef a little more character. Great product - I've already bought 20 pounds!

Best ground beef!

Heartstone ground beef is now the only ground beef we eat. You can really taste the difference, and the fat content is lean enough so that burgers or meat sauce don’t come out greasy, yet everything we make with it is incredibly delicious and wholesome tasting. It feels good to be supporting a Maine farm, and to be consuming animals that were treated humanely and with respect.

I ordered the Sirloin Tip Steaks and they were fresh, juicy and very tender. A delicious cut of meat that grilled up quickly. I highly recommend these steaks.

One of the best whole chickens I have ever roasted! The meat was juicy and there was a lot of it for a 3.5 pound chicken. As usual, it was perfectly packed and arrived fully frozen - had to leave in the refrigerator for 2 days to thaw. It's a good-sized chicken for a family of 3. Will definitely be ordering again.

Last night we had the hot italian chicken sausage links for supper. It was the first time trying your sausage and we made the traditional onion, pepper, and sausage sub that is common here in Maine at our fall fairs. Wow ! It was just like being at the fair ! Delicious.

I don't think brisket is one of the more common cuts for jerky-making but that's what we did with this and it was a pretty good experiment! Once finished it only lasted a couple days, if that says anything. It is a privilege to have access to meat of this quality. Thank you, as always! Robyn

What an unusual and healthful offering! I was despairing of ever getting my family to enjoy the superior health benefits of organ meats. When cooked as ordinary ground beef, the taste was close enough to be accepted without question. While I detected a slight difference, it was still a big hit. As my husband is a pancreatic cancer survivor, and is still building himself up[, this is a fine, nutritious alternative.

Very happy with the Ancestral Ground Beef! Maybe not everyone will like the flavor, but I'm enjoying it. Not overpowering like having straight beef liver, but you can definitely tell it's in there. Took a few bites to get used to it and now I think it's delicious and glad to be getting the added health benefits too.

So healthy

Been looking for this and most places far more expensive..It tastes delicious and I make a healthy meatloaf from it and freeze the leftover!! Just me here!! I wish it was more like 20% organs BUT!! That would change the price so I am happy..mostly because this comes from healthy animals so it is far more effective than organs from factory farmed!! Thank you and I just re-ordered more!!

Sirloin Steak 10 OZ was tender and very juicy

I've had a multitude of varieties of Italian sausage, and none was as enjoyable as this. No tough casing, no big globs of fat, no tough or unpleasant strong pork taste. It was mild, tender and flavorful. All ingredients are completely natural, with no preservatives or flavor enhancers of any kind: Heartstone Farm Sweet Italian Sausage will be our choice from now on.

This isn't just some cattle mill where they pump out quantity over quality. I recently ordered a quarter share after doing research on many area farms. One of the first aspects that caught my eye was free shipping/delivery to most of Maine, New Hampshire and Eastern Massachusetts. This was a big win for me as transporting that much frozen beef would be a bit of a challenge on my own. Also, instead of only offering shares once or twice a year, he operates more on a rotating monthly rotating schedule, which gives the consumer more options. This is quality beef. Raised responsibly and with care. This summer was a very dry and hot one, which effected the amount of quality grass (which in turn effected the overall growth/weight of the animal). Farmer Dan worked with me to push out my delivery to a later date to ensure the product he was going to deliver met both of our quality expectations. You get what you pay for with Heartstone Farms, quality beef!

I'm a huge fan of nutrition packed organ meats, especially from free range grass fed cows. These kidneys are fresh, clean tasting and a nice change up from liver. And you cant beat the price! My dogs love me for mixing it in with their kibble as a special dinner treat.

We purchased this for our great niece in Pennsylvania. We had ordered a similar package from a different company for my niece's birthday back in March, but due to some glitches, I decided to look more locally for our great niece's birthday. (Two months late 😏) Being a single mom, with a rapidly growing preteen, a box of meat really is the perfect gift for them. Paige calls it, "a box of love". This was their response last night via text: "Oh my gosh..what a treasure trove this box of meat is!!!" "Paige (great niece) said, "That's freaking awesome!"" "This slab of bacon and these steaks are no joke!" "I thought this card was your handwriting...it looks so similar!" - Nice touch, Farmer Dan! They are thrilled and we're so happy that we were able to send this box of love from Maine!

We've received 2 orders from heartstone card we are so oleased with everything . Our first box was delivered on a hot day and sat outside for 4 hours before we got home but the meat inside was still frozen solid by the time we got home! Great quality products that haven't upset my sensitive stomach. We love reading the postcards about the cows and getting to know where our source of food is coming from. I would and will recommend this farm for reliability, quality, and amazing agricultural practices.

We don’t really trust grocery store meat. To tell you the truth it creeps us out, even the color of it is off. We ordered a brisket, some chuck, and some sirloin to grind for our own burger mix. We received our order which was still frozen, put it in the fridge overnight to slightly defrost before grinding the next morning. When we opened up the packages of meat there was no smell like grocery store meat and the color was amazing. We grind the meat twice (1/2 inch followed by 1/4 inch). Let me tell you we had the best burgers that night grille with just salt and pepper really didn’t need anything else. We vaccum sealed the rest in 1 # packs and will be enjoying throughout the fall season. Highly recommended

Excellent quality beef. Grocery store meat is toxic and tastes terrible, Heartstone's prices are competitive for a much better product. Heartstone's meats do not make me feel inflamed, sick or bloated after consumption, unlike grocery chain meat. The items came almost to cold to handle, and fast, ready for the freezer. Good flavor, don't overcook the steak!

Chicken Breasts

The chicken breasts are normal sized chicken breasts not the over large ones often found in the market today. The breasts were tender and delicious. I cooked them on the grill and they were wonderful! Tender, moist and just right!

My recently had the joy of ordering and enjoying Heartstone’s Heritage Blended Beef and it’s is very flavorful. It is a blend of their Beef, Beef Liver and Beef Heart. I browned it and used it in a beef ragu for spaghetti. In general I am a huge fan of Heartstone Beef. Some magic is happening on that farm with the cows because I have never had beef that had such deep layers of beef flavor. Fan Foever.
