Guiltless hamburgers! What more could you ask for? Great taste, you say? Well, with Farmer Dan's grass fed and grass finished beef you get great tasting AND healthy burgers. What's not to like?

Grilled the ribeye last night. WoW! What flavor. FYI even if you have a hubby who is not the greatest griller his well done steak was still tender juicy and delicious. I recommend everything about Heartstone Farm! Farmer Dan actually communicates with people...PLUS, and the most important, his beef is absolutely THE BEST hands down. His liver is sweet and tender and the beef is the freshest and tastiest of any/all the "grass fed" I have ever acquired.

We made burgers with the ground beef as soon as we got our shipment from Farmer Dan. Which, by the way, was packed with so much care and everything was still frozen solid. The burgers were hands down the best I've ever had at home. I will definitely continue to order from Heartstone, and you should too!

I always love the ground beef from Heartstone but I love all of Heartstone's beef but being one person, I don't need a lot. It has a wonderful flavor and doesn't shrink when it is cooked. When the ground is browned, it needs oil added because it is so lean.

I don't typically write reviews on any of my purchases. I want to thank Farmer Dan for the excellent customer service and the quality of the products. This is the best beef I've ever purchased. Thank you for all your hard work.

I had not had dry cured meat for many years until a restaurant a while back. I started looking for dry cured meat and I found farmer Dan. Then after reading his site and him calling me after I left a message on his site and realizing the meat was not grain fattened. I had paid for a farmer to not grain his cow for me back in 85 and the meat was wonderful . Now my search for dry cured and non grained meat was looking at me. So I ordered a sampler and 10 lbs of hamburger. Was i surprised. The meat was vacuumed sealed and looked great. That wasn't the end. Then i started cooking it. All I can say is amazing. I haven't had that good tasting meat in a long time. So far we have had two pounds of hamburger and the roast. The only surprise (not really) was that it had great flavor. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to more in the future. Dan has captured me as a happy customer that will come back again and again.

The beef is by far some of the best I have ever had and I think we've been spoiled for life! I made some beef stew in the crock pot with the stew meat over the weekend and the other night used the hamburg to make taco meat for taco salads. What I've learned is that I under purchased. I'll have to purchase a larger share next go around and pick up some pieces here and there along the way. After receiving all that hamburg I figured there was no way I would go through it all, but here I am a good portion through it already. Chili, burgers, meatballs, meatloaf, tacos, etc. I don't normally leave reviews for really anything, either good nor bad. This I'm making an exception! This is too good not to share. It really is worth the money is case anyone reading this was wondering.

My Aunt sent us a package of meat from Heartstone Farm--best present- makes for a lovely gift or, just treat yourself to some good meat! We only tried the roast so far and it was delicious- tender and juicy. Can't wait to try the chuck meat and stewing meat.

What a great find! So far I have had the ground beef and NY Sirloin. They were lean and tasted delicious and fresh. It was nice to know the meat was raised and processed locally and not handled several times. Also, delivery was very prompt. I will definitely buy again!

We decided to make the switch to Heartstone Farm’s grass-fed beef for a few reasons: 1) Health benefits vs. regular store bought grain-fed beef 2) Farmer Dan treats his animals with the best care you could imagine (Check our the website) 3) We wanted to support a local farmer with our same ideals regarding food sourcing In August 2018, my first quarter of Heartstone Farm beef was hand-delivered by Farmer Dan himself. I wasn’t sure what to expect, as this was my first experience with high quality grass-fed beef. It is now Thanksgiving, and my girlfriend and I couldn’t be happier with our purchase. We have thoroughly enjoyed all cuts of steaks including, ribeyes, filet mignon, t-bones, porterhouse, and more! The beef is lean, but still tender and full of flavor, which is most likely a direct result of the “dry-age” process. The quarter share came with around 40 lb of burger, and we have used it for just about everything, from Plain ol’ burgers (which are amazing) to tacos, and spaghetti. There is barely any fat to drain, and the meat has a delicious flavor that you just don’t get from the supermarket. There are also a lot of roasts and other misc cuts included in a quarter share. We cooked 1/2 chuck roasts with garlic, onion, potatoes, and carrots, and the meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender. We had so much beef in the first quarter, we were able to give our parents some as a gift, and they also thought it was delicious. Now that it is Winter, we can’t wait to try out the stew meat in my Dad’s chili recipe, or a nice beef stew. If you are thinking about trying some of this beef, you won’t regret it! We still have a bunch left from our first quarter, and our next quarter is being delivered next week. We haven’t bought an ounce of beef from the supermarket since August! Thanks Farmer Dan, and all of you at Heartstone Farm!

Farmer Dan's steaks are the best--I have full confidence in every beef cut he sells. I regularly receive a griller box during the summer. The rib-eye steaks, in particular, are completely delish! You can't fake excellent quality meat--it either is or isn't. I love this grass-fed, grass-finished beef and only get beef from Farmer Dan now. Glad to support his business, too, a local Maine farmer! Beef is carefully packaged, and delivered in a timely manner. Couldn't ask for more.

Love the quality of the beef. I typically purchase the ground beef, short ribs, and stew meat as they are all quite versatile for preparing dinners and they are all delicious. I've enjoyed a couple of roasts for winter comfort food and a brisket (home made pastrami is the best and the small brisket was perfect). For outdoor summer dinner with friends, the kabobs are a nice easy treat on the grill with burgers. I also love that I can purchase from a local Maine farm and have it delivered.

All the steaks and hamburger are absolutely delicious. It’s good to know it’s local and I don’t have to ever worry about any recalls. No antibiotics just delicious meat. I highly recommend

Purchased patties and one pound packages. The burgers cooked up great on the grill. Made a chili with one of the packages, it came out great. The flavor of both was excellent.

Awesome service and great products I did order a grass feded beef liver which is amazing Dan help me with order and save me the shipping cost I did receive the product couple days later and was prepared wonderful Liver was fresh and when I cooked it had amazingly delicious taste Will definitely continue ordering liver and other products from them You can try the recipe for the liver :: mix salt black and red pepper and olive oil and juce of couple limes. Deep the liver and let it rest for 6 hours or best for overnight Heat grill at max temperature and grill liver for no more than a minute of each side Enjoy it Thank you again Dan Great service and products

Was skeptical at first at trying this , I’ve tried other farm raised beef and it was so tough. But watching the videos and seeing how sincere that Bob is about he goes about growing and taking care of his herd made me decide to give it try. I am so pleased to have a local grass fed beef farm. I placed an order of a few different meats and so far we have tried the beef liver. I must confess I am not a liver fan but WOW was it ever tasty. I truly enjoyed every bite. I soaked it in milk over night ( as several recipes had suggested) and cooked it with onions, peppers, mushrooms and bacon. My friend said it was, by far, the tastiest and sweetest liver he had ever tasted. If the liver is that good I can't wait to try the ground beef and stew meat I purchased. Thank you farmer Dan for all your hard work and making grass fed beef available to so many people. And I am extremely pleased with the OUTSTANDING customer service I have received. I am a HUGE fan of your product and service.

I rarely review anything.. but this is worth the time. I hope this helps someone considering a purchase: - Value: Grass Fed Beef is better for your health, but also more expensive. It’s worth doing some research before making a decision. I’m very health conscious and healthy, and eat beef at least a few times weekly, so Dan’s product is an excellent value for me. - Taste: I personally think this beef tastes stronger than the beef sold in most grocery stores. I like this difference because I like the taste of beef. You might by some cuts before committing to a share. - Fear Factor: I was worried that I don’t know how to cook all the different cuts. It forced me to take a little time online to learn how to cook roasts and ribs. My culinary skills have improved and it turns out I enjoy it (I haven’t yet perfected my chili but working on it). - Do you need “all this beef”? I thought that the first year.. I bought a quarter share for just myself and finished it. The things to focus on are the things you’re afraid to cook.. brisket, ribs.. etc. The rest just goes. - Freezer: I bought a freezer at sears for 1/2 price over a Labor Day weekend. just look around. Hope this helps.

Excellent grass fed beef from a humane local source with quarters and sides available. Beef is lean, but still tender and full of flavor. Farm tours are available in the Summer and all beef is grass fed and finished. Definitely give it a try if you get the chance!

Farmer Dan is an absolute pro and his product is second to none. What a great experience. Talk about a first rate farm where not only the meat is delicious, but after talking with Dan, and seeing the farm myself, I know I'm buying humanely raised meat with total confidence. Five stars.
