At this point, I've had two different steaks, both were tough and not as good as the supermarket steaks that I usually buy. The steaks that we tried were the sirloin and the rib eye. Never again will I purchase from them since they don't even return phone calls. I wanted this to be private, but I might get a response this way. I dolon't even want to cook the rest of the order! BAD PURCHASE!

I have received these burger Patties in my box every time. They are a huge hit with my family and a perfect quick meal on the grill during busy nights!

I will admit the only reason I can’t give this 5 stars is because we slightly overlooked the hot dogs and so I’m sure they would have tasted better if we didn’t do that!

Best hot dogs ever. We won't eat regular hot dogs made with lots of chemicals and who knows what animal byproducts. Heartstone farm hot dogs are all beef and some spices. They don't swell up like commercial dogs. because they aren't full of water and fat byproducts. We enjoy them anytime. Like eating a good meal.

My husband and I went to Scotland in March and discovered the magic of Scotch beef. Desperate to find a source of said Scotch beef here in the states my husband discovered Heartstone Farm. We never imagined it would come close to the quality, flavor or texture of Scotch beef but hoped it would at least suffice. To our surprise, not only is the meat from Heartstone every bit as delicious, we also feel a deep sense of gratitude for the ability to source high quality, humanely raised meat so close to home. We are so pleased with Farmer Dan’s products that we gobbled up our last box and had to move our order up 4 weeks earlier than expected! If you love yourself you’ll go ahead and try a little of everything and you won’t be disappointed!

The ground beef I ordered was remarkably flavorful and lean. Quite different from supermarket beef which lacks any real beef flavor, and is often is riddled with "grizzly bits." I will be ordering more from Farmer Dan!

Just tried these breakfast sausages for the first time this morning. They were really good. The maple flavor is subtle. While blueberries are good for you, they really don't add much flavor to anything, including these sausages. I live in Maine where we grow tons of blueberries, and it finds its way into lots of dishes. I even have blueberry bushes in my own garden. But I don't think they have much flavor. Having said that, I think these breakfast sausages were delicious, because of the quality of the pork and the kiss of maple syrup. I put them in a small skillet with some water and some olive oil, and then poached them in the water until it evaporated, leaving them to brown in the oil. They were juicy, without being fatty or greasy, like a lot of breakfast sausages are. I recommend them, and plan on buying them again.

I often have a difficult time finding oxtails in grocery stores, so I was very excited to find them online and from a New England Farm. They shipped very quickly and arrived still frozen. I use them to make a braised dish and these oxtails were very meaty and perfect, I liked that there was minimal fat. I will definitely be buying from Heartstone again!

The roast was tender and flavorful however it contained quite a bit of fat and my husband was not happy with this.

I've never purchased flank steak bc of my concern over accidently preparing it too tough to chew. For the labor day sale, I finally purchased one. I tenderized with a meat mallet, marinated 24 hours, and used a meat thermometer on the grill. (We tend to overcook or undercook.) I was worried while cutting across the grain, after resting it, bc it still seemed tough to slice. I thought I'd ruined it anyway. But it was perfect, not at all tough to cut on the dinner plate or to chew, and the flavor was really very nice (like all our purchases from Heartstone). Whew! So glad I faced my flank steak fear and purchased this item. I won't hesitate in the future.

The grill box was a great way to try some of the meat. First tried the hamburger and it was tasty. Then we grilled the 2 T-bone steaks. Again juicy and delicious. I have ordered a subscription box because I liked the meat so much. Meat comes perfectly frozen and shipped for free. What else could anyone want? Good job Farmer Dan.

The sirloin Tip steaks we ordered were delicious on the grill with salt and pepper! The flavor was incredible, and they were extremely tender! Everything I have ordered so far has been delicious including the calf's liver! I love eating healthy with delicious, pastured beef!

Quick shipping, arrived FROZEN! and they all look like great cuts of beef. Nice proportions that will be great for grilling or pan frying. I have used other beef venders and they meat usually arrives in the semi frozen-thawed state. Fair pricing too and best of all responsible farming which is a throw back to the farmers that lived around me when I was a kid.

One of my favorites of Heartstone Farm is the Breakfast Sausage Links. Like their other meats we get, the sausage is good quality and taste great.

These steaks are amazing!! This is the second time we’ve ordered them and they’re now a staple for one night of the week! You can’t compare these steaks to anything you find in the grocery store. A++++

Excellent flavor, super tender. Only complaint is that the cuts are not true "fillet mignon". They are tenderloin and delicious, but very irregular in shape.

I ordered 3 saving 2 for Christmas eve the one we ate almost changed my mind for the Christmas eve plan it was hard not to cooka second one the Tomahawk was fantastic I seasoned it with just a little oil salt and pepper believe me thstd all you need you don't want to hide the flavor of this excellent meat. Thank you farmer Dan for such a great product another great pice of meat like Ali the products you deliver if your a steak lover do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a Tomahawk steak you won't be disappointed.

Too thin that they were breaking off easily. I suggest better to make 1/2 inch thick and yes, that would make smaller rounds, but hold well.

Best chicken we’ve had in a long time. So good and juicy

Tried the ground beef for the first time yesterday. Used it to make two burgers on the grill, but my wife and I both ate them without buns or any of the usual burger condiments so we could taste the meat on its own. Quite simply, the taste of Heartstone Farm's ground beef was like night and day compared with supermarket ground beef. I generally buy my ground beef at a small, family run butcher shop in Portland, including ground sirloin, chuck, and a special mix made just with trimmings from beef tenderloin. And while they are purveyors of lots of great meat, even their best ground meat doesn't stack up with Heartstone's. I don't know if it's because the cattle are grass fed and finished, or the 14 day aged meat the ground meat is made from, or the way they are raised and cared for. Whatever the reason(s), this is hands down the best ground beef I've ever tasted. Cooked to medium, with some nice char from my grill, and the burgers were fabulous!

I am very pleased with the meat and poultry from Farmer Dan. We loved the tenders and breasts, ground beef and steaks. I haven't cooked a whole bird or whole legs yet. The packaging kept everything frozen. Individual packages did not leak as they were defrosting. This does happen with other services sometimes. I have tried other services - Walden Local, Butcher Box, Porter Road and FarmerDan. Each has their pros and cons. I'm only interested in pasture raised animals that have tight outside inspection of their abattoirs. I have gotten 2 deliveries from FarmerDan so far. I am happy with everything I have gotten.

We bought the steak tips for the first time and I used them to make stroganoff. It turned out awesome, so tender and favorable. I will definitely be getting them again and trying out different recipes with them.

These steak tips are delicious easily seared and finished on top the stove to the stage you like them, plain or marinated. They are so versatile that they are also easy to use in any beef stew or casserole recipe that you want. I love having a supply in the freezer for easy meal planning.

We get our meat from Heartstone Farm every 6 weeks for my husband and I. The portions are perfect size and the meat is tender and juicy, every bite is delicious.

The pulled pork made from the Boston Butt was melt in your mouth tender and chock full of flavor. Will absolutely order again.

Best beef around, bought this box to stock up on ground beef and steaks and it is so worth it. I purchased the steak lover box as a gift for my daughter, and boy did it live up to its name! Flavor so rich and delicious that she didn't stop at dinner but was inspired to put the leftovers in her family's steak-salad lunch the next day. Heartstone's a new favorite for this family!

What a difference from grocery store meat!! Worth every penny!

Great flavor - only complaint is the packaging. 3 burgers per package is an awkward number, and it is impossible to separate them until they are thawed. The wax paper between them is very flimsy. Would be nice if they could be separted prior to thawing. If you plan ahead, no issues though.

Delish! Followed Ina Garten's Red Wine Braised Short Rib recipe and was very impressed. Tender and delicious! It was my first time buying and cooking short ribs, but I am sure to be re-ordering!
