All in all a great experience but I would like to see more water stations. Riverside to Itchen Bridge was a long while to go without water on such a hot day

Didn't like the route as much as previous years. Lots of narrow roads with twists and turns made it very crowded and difficult to maintain a stride pattern and also a bit dull. My flatmate who was further back in the field complained about the constant shouting to stay left to keep out of the way of the marathon runners. In the narrow areas this made it even more congested and difficult.
Organisationally it was great again. Lots of happy mile makers clapping and cheering along the way

Me & my wife complete a half Marathon every month &
we really enjoyed our visit from London to Southampton.
Excellent supportive pacers providing great encouragement.
Great support on route from the locals with power boards.
Bottled water was fantastic, so you can comfortably drink as you run.
Interesting & challenging route, on closed roads, through parks & a nice surprise through a football stadium.
I completed the half Marathon but the big bridge before the end was very crowded with I believe, 10k runners, they could be asked to keep left to allow faster runners through.
Will definitely we recommending this race with a selection of distances to others & those at our running club Metros RC.

Really enjoyed this race!!
Everything was wonderfully organised with lots of places for supporters to cheer you on.
Not too crowded, enjoyed the mixed distances as part of the marathon route.
Only downside was lack of toilets along the route... although using the bush does have the advantage of no queuing!

Couldn't fault one single aspect of the whole day. The advance information and subsequent results, videos and photos are perfect. Particularly liked the "Beat The Bridge" challenge with the timings and videos. Cant wait to do it all again. Well done.

I enjoyed the event very much. Great support, easy sign on and well organised bag drop. The only negative for me was when the half marathon runners joined with the 10k. I ran 1hr 27mins and had to try and run through runners running considerably slower for the last 3 miles. A few signs in the last 3 miles asking slower runners to run on one side or the other would of helped the faster 1/2 marathon and marathon runners.

Absolutely fantastic course, Well organised, perfect placement of water stops.
Only criticism would be to try to avoid some of the bottle necks on entrance and exits of parks throughout, especially towards the end, Otherwise keep up the good work.

Stewards were lovely, course was well marked out. Slight issue on Itchen bridge with 10k runners trying to overtake but nothing major if people are considerate to each other!

Good points: great atmosphere, enjoyed the free beer at the end, nice medal, lots of information in the run up to the event, well-organised. Very likely to run again next year.
Bad points: the mile markers were not in the right place, doing the Itchen Bridge at the end was a killer. The worst bit which definitely needs rethinking was having the routes of the 10k and the half merge. I spent the last (and toughest) 3 miles weaving in and out of lots of runners and it got very narrow in places. This wasn't well thought through and should be reconsidered for next year.
