Had a great, well organised run with friendly staff.
The course was well layed out and the finish line cheers pushed me on to the finish line!
A welcomed member of staff gave me my medal and I collected my pack. All in all a good day. Thanks.

Excellant day. The crowds where fantastic. My only small gripe would be that the last mile could have done with a bit more seperation from the shoppers who kept getting in the way. But other than that it was great.

This was a great day with a great atmosphere. Not sure about the set up at the start, though, as the pacers seems to disappear. Overall it was a really good experience.

Loved every second of the 10k!
This was the first event I have done and found that the whole day was so well organised and the staff/volunteers were incredibly helpful and supportive.
Amazing day all round and I will definitely be participating in the years to come! Can safely say I have caught the running bug again.

Enjoyed the reverse route and the set up of the race, finishing in the city and general overall organisation was very good - well done!. I did think some of the paths (around the common and Bitterne Park) were too narrow especially at points where we (as half marathon runners) were asked to bunch up to let faster full marathon runners through. Whilst I appreciate the need to let those runners through and why, it was frustrating to have to bunch up many times and subsequently I felt it hindered my opportunity to get a better time. I also felt the start this year was a little odd. I started round a corner so could see the start and therefore missed the warm up and had no idea really what was going on/when we were starting until people started to run! Perhaps starting on a long straight would be better?

This is the second time I have run the half, first time was in 2015. Lots of improvements including the staring area and race village. I think I preferred the course the other way round, and tackling the Itchen bridge near the start rather than the finish, however missing out Burgees Road was a plus, so you take the rough with the smooth! Personally I feel there should have been a water stop before the Itchen Bridge, however if the conditions had been cooler, that possibly wouldn't have been a problem. On asking those in yellow vests and the event cyclists they didn't seem t know where the water stations where, perhaps this information, action is something they should have to hand?

This was my first ever Half Marathon and the atmosphere was amazing. The support from people around the circuit was fantastic and I am even thinking of signing up for next year.

A great day out with wonderful support. I completed the 10, but it was quite a hot day and the route only provided water after the bridge after about 7k. Would have liked to have had a water station before this. Well done and looking forward to next year.

From my own point of view, I thoroughly enjoyed the race and the day. The only snag was being sent the wrong race number but this was sorted out pretty easily on the day. Also, I think the start of the 10k needs to bit a lot wider, some friends were caught in a bit of a squeeze in the first kilometre. However, the arrangements for the elite runners appeared to be a bit of a shambles. I know personally the women who had a good chance in the 10k race but were completely misinformed to ruin their chances before it even began. I have since heard about the lead men in the 10k being taken the wrong way! And not getting a result at all: absolute madness. The strongest runner should win the race but this did not happen in either men's or women's 10k race.

Great event, so well organised and the atmosphere is electric! Great medals, goodie bags and t-shirts. The only thing that hindered my run this year was that the course was reversed, which meant my focus was a little hindered with the harder hills towards the end (Ithcin Bridge etc). On a personal note I didn't like the finish which ended on a slight incline as I like to sprint in. Other than these it was a fantastically organised event. Well done.

Though I was worried about undertaking the half marathon again I feel the experience has been a fantastic one, the support from ABP and regular updates / info were all brilliant.
I hope to take part again next year, perhaps for the full marathon!

Having completed all 3 years I was very disappoint with this years organisation. The 10k meant one of my training partners was robbed of a win due to being lead the wrong way by the lead cyclist. As for the half marathon the last 3 miles where the course was merged with the 10k caused chaos and was frankly dangerous for anyone looking to run a good time! I highlighted my concerns prior to the race and was toldnit had been considered and would be controlled but this Was not the case. I very much doubt I will return next year, which is a shame as this is my home town race and the atmosphere on the course is always incredible.

It was a fantastic race! I thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a great atmosphere and a huge amount of support along the way which helped enormously. The whole event seemed extremely well organised and I shall definitely be signing up for next year! Thank you!!

I enjoyed running this race and the staff and marshals were helpful and supportive. I would also like to place on record a special thanks to the medical team who helped me out afterwards when I had a post-race sugar crash.
But I would make a plea to make the water stations more evenly spread out. In particular a water station just before the Itchen bridge (around the 16k mark in the half marathon) would have been useful. This is apparent on the map we were supplied with before the race, but on the day the final water station was placed a bit after the bridge. I also think there were too many in the earlier parts of the course and they needed to be spread out more.
In spite of this concern I enjoyed the event and will run it again.

great race and route,
It was not clear on the route when entering the subway near the end of New road / old Northam road, no marshal was there and it took a bit of time to confirm which was the correct path to take.
announcements at the beginning were not clear as to when runners should assemble. there were no pace makers that i could see.
The route has a huge number of corners and junctions which i think slows the race pace down quite a bit.
Apart from these points it was a good run.
