Bridge needs a re-think was a real challenge, even for experience runners (I understand the route used to be anti clockwise...) and more refreshment as there was none between 8/12 miles (when it was needed the most). Couldn't see the pace makers. BUT great atmosphere, marshals and motivators were awesome and infrastructure and planning were awesome too :D

Superbly organised race, great course and great support the whole way round. Couldn't ask for much more really. Would definitely recommend the Marathon.

I enjoyed the race and managed to improve my Personal Best by 2 minutes!
It was great to get a free massage before the start!
The start appeared disorganised, Pacers banners disappeared after the Warm Up (really enjoyed that) and thus it was difficult to work out my best position for the start.
l thought the Race packs were a little late coming, any glitches in the Post could have prevented delivery.
Some parts of the route were too narrow and made it difficult to overtake slower runners, this was a particular issue on Itchen Bridge where 3 races merged and many people were walking.
Water stations were not very well spaced out. I was expecting a station just before Itchen Bridge, the station after the bridge was too late for Half Marathon runners. Would have been good to get at least one Sports drink and to have access to drinks before the race.
The route was a real test and I wish I had checked it before the race! I wasn't expecting quite so many hills, so doubly pleased that I improved my time!
Was the route a little long? I had two devices which indicated about 21.4 km even though I seemed to have cut across many of the corners!
Start/Finish was very convenient for the Train Station.

Never done any running before. Trained for a charity challenger on behalf of Teenage Cancer Trust with three work colleagues and loved every second of it!

It would have been nice to have received my race pack as running with a replacement number that i had to pick up on the day which then never had my name on it meant i had no support from the spectators, great shame really.

The water stations were well placed, the Beaver, Cub's, Scouts and Sea Cadets handing out drinks were a credit to their lodges. The choir and brass band was also very good.
My improvements would be more portaloo's on the course and possibly do the course in reverse so the bridge was at the beginning rather than end of the marathon as I felt lots of people struggled on it on the last lap.

The route was well laid out with a nice mixture of local streets & parks. Excellent support from the locals. Course was well marshalled. Only downside was the traffic as all three races merged at the Itchen Bridge as this slowed the pace down.

My first ever 10K and I've never run with others. Loved it. Well organised, support around the run was wonderful and the papers so friendly. Asking everyone how they were doing. Definately going to do it again ????

Good event guys but as someone who works strategically in sport and attends many many events there are a few things I would offer:
-up until almost the last moment you were filling the start pen from the front. Loads of people could get to where they should be so just had to turn around and run. Was really congested for those a bit faster to get through. Send them round the side!
- the first 3 miles were hugely congested...
- I don't mind "moving to the left!" to get out of the way of the 4-5 people who are genuinely racing to win the marathon but I've paid as much as everyone else to take part and don't appreciate being bearded into half the road to let the rest through. It's everyone's race. It would also be worth briefing your volunteers to remember that everyone is out for fun and therefore to ask/advise nicely!
- the wheelchair race was great to see but let the guys go earlier. I dread to think how warm it was for them after 4 hours, plus a bit demoralising
- no one reads race info in emails. You need to put it in the pack I'm afraid. Particularly as first timers will get nervous near the start and want to re-read
- I know you can't clear the whole route of cars but in the first 5-6' miles where we turned a corner nearly every 3-400 metres it was a bit of carnage suddenly finding a solitary parked car. Perhaps less turns so less surprises?
- you needed one more water station. Not sure if it was between the 2nd and 3rd or 3rd and 4th but there was a seemlingly huge gap. Particularly as the weather warmed
- lovely medal
- lovely tech tee
- well done on the loos - there were plenty!
- loved that the bag storage was inside
- well done on encouraging the good weather
- the run through the town and the stadium was fab

I really enjoyed the race, the support was great, even though it was two laps I really enjoyed it, the Bridge was a challenge I have not finished with so I will be back for another try. The finish was amazing with the crowd and I felt like an Olympian. the only thing I could ask you to do for next time is to add some marathon pacers & perhaps a few more snacks in the goody bag ( I don't like Bananas)

I thought it was an excellent event. Only improvements could be a bit more atmosphere (additional PA /speakers?) for those at the back of the start line for the half marathon, as we did not know the race had started! Also I could not work out how to attach the baggage label to my ruck sack, one of the team at the desk helped me but clearer instructions in the race pack would have speeded things up. But other than that, all was good.

A very well organised race. Great support and atmosphere all around the course.
Ran last year and still can't make my mind which course I prefer.
One minor point would be the 1/2 runners having to pick our way through the marathon runners. For me this was at the Itchen bridge, so maybe bad timing on my part, but there was a lot of traffic here to weave through.
Other than that, very enjoyable thank you
