Great day overall, there were a few points over the course when it was difficult to tell which direction to take, for which event. The mix up with incorrect bibs was quite a worry , but quickly dealt with. And I think it would be a good idea to have a lane for walkers over the bridge, to avoid a jam.

The race was well organised. Only thing is when I finished the 10km race the clock was taken down which would have been nice to have there. Mum also did the 10km race but accidentally got given a marathon finishers t shirt.nice race day atmosphere there

On the whole I was very impressed with the event. Social media coverage on Facebook/twitter and email correspondence was very good.
The support around the course was fantastic.
My only criticism would be that on the map it said there would be a water station at 10 miles however it didn't appear until 11 miles. Given it was a hot day and the challenge of the Itchen bridge, it would have been useful to have that water at the 10 mile stage as indicated on the map.

I really enjoyed the race overall - would have been a 5* had there been a water station at the stadium as there was too long gap between the bitterne triangle and central bridge stops. Also felt the Bridge was very challenging at the later time in the race. But would prefer NO change to the route next year so we can compare times / fitness like for like. Thank you for a really well organised and supported event. Made me proud to be a Southampton'er, which needs to happen more often :)

Well organised event with a great feel, the start is a bit congested but clears quickly, the course is pleasant, with a few hills.

Nice event. Lots of toilets at start. Easy start with little waiting. Low numbers meant you could run with plenty of space. However, on the second lap it was not so easy to see the route to follow.
The bridge on the second lap was a killer and unlikely to attract me back. The final mile was through town with lots of people smoking which didn't help.
500 mile round trip from Yorkshire to do this event but won't be tempted to do it again. Volunteers did a great job but think carefully about the route - dogs, scooters, bicycles, children, cars and irate motorists trying to exit their drives all had to be avoided.

Great support from the town and generally well organised however leaving the water stop till near end of the race was next to useless. This lead to people becoming dehydrated. If this had been highlighted this would have been useful. The lack of t shirts or none at all when finished again shows poor organisation.

Was a great route and thoroughly enjoyed the half marathon but found the last two miles very stressful. Apart from being knackered, which is my own fault for setting off too quickly, I found myself having to veer in and out of all the much slower 10k runners while running over the Itchen bridge. I will happily do the race again but would suggest giving the 10k and Half Marathon runners separate lanes over the bridge.
