I have previously owned WS1002 and WS2000 weather stations so I have familiarity with Ambient hardware and consoles.
The WS5000 hardware installed easily and seems to be of good quality. Nowhere in the literature is there any discussion about why a heater would or should be necessary, so I didn't add it.
The documentation and console firmware as delivered are lacking. The WS5000 manual appears to be a mashup of the WS2000 manual and new hardware installation pages. Thus, the console display illustration shows items that don't exist on the new console. Nowhere in the documentation are instructions about how to synchronize the console with the Weather Underground servers. This was always straightforward with previous Ambient stations. After contacting support and providing the console MAC address, I got the instructions that should have been in the manual about connecting to Weather Underground. After the console had been operational for a few days, extraneous icons magically disappeared. The console wifi, as delivered, was almost unusable. Only after doing a wifi firmware update did it work appropriately. And then the wifi icon was different from the manual.
Overall, the WS5000 system is now functioning as I expected. Getting it to that point was more work and aggravation than I expected from Ambient.

This console works great, simple design. We've had the system for 6 years with 3 consoles, pop in new batteries and it reconnects to the console right away, no problems with connections.

Easy replacement for my damaged part.

Everything came very well packaged. Easy weather station setup. Instructions for getting online and programming were fairly straightforward. We also purchased the soil moisture sensor, and that was easy to setup. The display is easy to read and program. Highly recommend.

The thermometer on my previous Ambient Weather system quit working and none of the reset steps worked. I ordered a new one and I like the easy setup plus the ability to check it via the web when away from home. The wind speed and direction seem more accurate than the previous system. The rain gauge is not very accurate; it under measures rain by roughly 1/4 compared to my calibrated, stand alone digital rain gauge and the old fashioned tube rain gauge.

Plan to mount outside soon, but still sitting in the house, this detector has been displaying the lighting in the area!

We have had this station for a bit over two years and it has performed very well. I really like being able to connect to it from my smart-phone.
The AC adaptor died a month ago and we had to replace it, but other than that it has been trouble free and we have been very satisfied.

Replacing the AC adaptor fixed the problem (the console was re-starting continuously), but the original unit was only 2 years old and should not have failed.

Top quality weather stations and fast delivery.

This system is great. Good accuracy and update rate.

I planted this in a garden in the back yard & it reports quite well.

It picked up the wi-fi from the base unit , and started giving readings on temp and humidity.
Satisfied with great service from sales and tech.

As advertised theirs works to replace broken ones. I take mine all over with an Rv traveling. Tipped over one too many times and finally broke them. replacement is simple.

The website was easy to use.

Works just like the original.

I ordered WS-3000-X8 so I can monitor temperatures all over my house. For instance, I want to see how hot or cold (freezing) my attic is. The WS-3000 console display is very easy to see and operate. I needed 8 probes to fully monitor my house. And, in conjunction with Ambient Weather Hub I can see probe temperatures remotely on my smartphone when I am away from house. There is no other supplier that offers anything even close to what Ambient Weather offers.

Had a hard time attaching the wind cups because the screw would not go in far enough. Tried to call for technical help but never got a call back. Solved the problem myself.

this is a good addition for the rain gauge but assembly is difficult; pins should come pre-bent.works well, first time i used it i saw a small bird trying to enter and unable to do so. overall i like it but assembly was a pain.

Perfect fit

Received personal responses to my questions, not just an instruction to see page X in the manual. I really like Ambient Weather.
