Ambient Weather WS-5000-CONSOLE Console Only, WS-5000 Wireless Weather Station
It’s a solid extra unit to place in the living room of our house. Now everyone can join in on the fun and I can still have my up to date weather being tracked in my room. It is on the pricey side for just the console.

Bought a replacement outside piece.
Needed the 2000 but got a different one by accident. It works great just doesn’t do the solar things.

Snow build up is an issue
Verified Buyer
Ambient Weather WS-2000 Smart Weather Station with WiFi Remote Monitoring and Alerts & Thermo Hygrometer
Not a bad system, but disabled by falling snow with no wind. Fortunately I mounted the main sensor low enough to be able to clear it. The virtually flat arms and low clearance to wind sensors are the issue here. The bird guard for rain sensor should have the stainless rods bent before shipment- I don't recommend that item. Remote sensor units work OK but take time to develop signal strength. Console is so light that you need two hands to operate. A functionally adequate system overall but improvements needed for a top rating.

Ambient Weather WS-5000 Ultrasonic Professional Smart Weather Station & Thermo Hygrometer
Set up was quite easy, especially compared to my previous stations which I designed and built myself. Ambient makes posting data on the Ambient Networks extremely easy and connection to Weather Underground PWS network is similarly easy. Accuracy seems to be very good comparing indoor data to other quality instruments and outdoor data to nearby stations. I have maintained gold star status on Weather Underground since setting it up. The main reason that I chose the WS-5000 is its longer range transmission. My station is 150 ft from the house. The wall insulation has a metal coating which tends to severely attenuate radio signals. But locating the console near a window gives me a strong reliable signal. Unfortunately, the optional remote sensors do not have a similarly long range so they must be located closer to the house. Overall I was sufficiently impressed with the WS-5000 that I gave one to my son as a Christmas present. His is working great also.
I have my station running for just over a month so we will have to see how is does long term.

Ambient 2000 Weather Station

This piece of kit came from the warm dry desert is south-west USA to a cold, dank sunless area of England at 51 degrees north. The sun rises at 8.13am and sets at 3.58pm, but with 8/8th cloud cover most days the UV index monitor has yet to be troubled.
I found the kit straightforward to assemble and calibrate to my location, and appears to be functioning properly.
The monitor is a mine of information, and I look forward to the warmer days of spring in order to put the kit through its paces.
I am pleased with it to date, and it is certainly value for money.

Excellent second display

We wanted a second display for weather information in a different part of the house. This fit the bill perfectly. The display has some viewing angle issues, but this is well know and was just like the display we already had.
