I have used the 2902 for more than 7 years and love it. The outdoor sensor array solar went bad so had to replace it. No problems.

Ambient Weather WS-2902-ARRAY Replacement Sensor Array, WS-1900, WS-2000, WS-2902 and WS-2902A Wireless Weather Station
I replaced my original array because of the South Texas Heat, the heat here finally cooked the sensor that gives you the outside temperature reading on your display. I have no regrets, it lasted for 2 years so I would highly recommend this.

Ambient Weather WH31SM Soil Moisture Sensor for WS-2000, WS-5000 Weather Stations
These help us to more closely monitor the moisture levels in our gardens. It would be nice to have a deeper probe as well. The current models give surface level moisture which is fine for perennials and small shrubs but a version with a probe at 18 - 24 inches below the surface would help for larger shrubs and trees.

Ambient Weather WS-2902-RAINSPIKE Bird Spike Kit for WS-1550-IP, WS-1900, WS-2000, WS-2902 and WS-2902A Rain Gauge
Works well to keep the birds out. The mount is solid. May want to bend the spikes prior to installing instead of the other way around as per the instructions.

Ambient Weather EZ-NPP Tripod and Mast Assembly with Platform
The EZ-NPP Tripod and mast assembly with platform were just what I wanted. Took awhile to assemble the platform, and the instruction sheet was terrible showing the assembly process. The sheet of instructions looked like a copy that came through a printer needing a ink cartridge replaced badly. There were lots of bleeding ink shadows, where you could not see the finer details of assembly points. Other than that, it is well made and very sturdy. I purchased the extra extension, and have it away from the house and in open field and it works just fine. I did not want to put holes in the roof, so this fit my needs perfectly, and better yet getting access to the sensor array is much quicker, than having to take down a big pole, undoing all the bolts, or using a ladder to unscrew mounting from the side of the house. For me is a much safer method to mount the sensor array on. Add 2 bricks to the frame, and your good to go, even though the frame and tripod are pretty heavy to begin with, the added bricks will help with stabalizing.

Get the WH31L lightning detector!! This is a must have for early detection of lightning in your area. Records the strike and the distance and keeps count with in the last 24 hours. This thing works great! Love it.
