Ambient Weather WS 5000 Weather Station

Ambient Weather WS-5000 Ultrasonic Professional Smart Weather Station & Thermo Hygrometer
After a fair amount of research on the Web and our experience with another brand of weather station we decided to go with the AW WS-5000 weather station. The assembly went OK but I found the consul a bit awkward to navigate. Got there in the end eventually. We go the bird spike kit and fashioned spike “crowns” for both the rain gauge and the wind sensor. Both sensors seem to work well. The wind gauge is especially sensitive to the slightest breeze and seems to be accurate as to direction and wind velocity. All in all, we rate this as a good purchase and look forward to seeing how it performs over time.

Ambient Weather WS-2902-ARRAY-ASSEMBLY Replacement Array Assembly, WS-1900, WS-2000, WS-2902, WS-2902A
My WS-2902C stopped reading rainfall, so faced with replacing the whole system, I found this array. It swapped out very easy, just pop the wind direction arrow, wind gauge cups, and rain collector cup/top off the old, and put on the new array. Took maybe 2 minutes once I had them both on the work bench. Followed the reset instructions, maybe 30 seconds. Put it back on the roof. Linked up with my existing console in less than 5 minutes. Really pleased!

Ambient Weather WS-5000-ARRAY Replacement Ultrasonic Anemometer, Outdoor Thermometer / Hygrometer, Solar Radiation and UV for
I thought the WS -5000 would last more than two years along with the display. However both failed within two weeks of each other. Very disappointing!!!
I hope the new replacements last longer.

Ambient Weather EZ2-35W2MC Pole Mounting Kit
It works well. I think there are some improvements in attaching it to a fence post or wooden fence. But it still works well.

It works - but it's expensive.

Ambient Weather WS-2902D-WH31E Wireless Console for WS-2902, WS-2902A, WS-2902B Wireless Weather Station
It works as a replacement to my old WS-2900 console that started making a buzzing sound so loud it was distracting. But boy it hurt to make the payment for it. Hopefully this one will last me years and years. I do enjoy having the rain gauge and wind information, as well as reliable outdoor temps, and the outdoor sensors continue to work fine. This connected very easily with the original outdoor sensors.

Ambient Weather WS-2902-THERMOHYGRO-ASSEMBLY Replacement Thermo-Hygrometer Assembly, WS-1900, WS-2000, WS-2902, WS-2902A
Unfortunately I had to return the replacement rain collector due to the condition of the existing weather station (after 8 years of service). The technician was very helpful in discussing replacement options. The new weather station has been installed and also connected to the old display.

Ambient Weather WS-2000 Smart Weather Station with WiFi Remote Monitoring and Alerts & Thermo Hygrometer
I’ve had my new WS-2000 station up and running for a few weeks now. It’s the 2nd Ambient station (I also have a WS-2902 at a summer home) and I’m happy with both. The 2000 set up was pretty easy and I like how I can now see both stations on the app. Joining the Ambient network is cool because you can see other stations anywhere and see what their conditions are like. The 2000 display is a lot nicer than the 2902. I also purchased a lightning detector for the 2000, but we haven’t had any thunder storms yet so I can’t say if that works or not. For the price, I think it’s a good buy.

Ambient Weather WH31P Water Proof Probe Temperature Sensor for WS-0265, WS-1550-IP, WS-2000, WS-2902, WS-3000, WS-5000 and Ob
Although this WH31P Temperature Sensor with Water Proof Probe could be used for a variety of conditions/environments, I chose to initially use it to monitor a refrigerator not routinely used in another part of my dwelling that is passively heated and cooled. In addition to perishable foods, the refrigerator holds medicine that must remain stable in a refrigerated environment. The ability to monitor the efficiency and cycling capabilities of the refrigerator with the WH31P Sensor is critical. I was concerned that the 915 MHz signal to the WS-5000 Display console may be impeded by the structural makeup of the home, but I have gotten aconsistent and solid connection once it was registered to the console. I am able to monitor the temperature profile from my computer/mobile device via AmbientWeather.net. I can also visually monitor the temperature via the temperature display on the WH31P unit above the refrigerator in situ.
Definitely a good temperature sensor for the money and definitely works as advertised.

Ambient Weather WeatherMount Weather Station Mount
After obtaining new shingles on our roof, it was decided to mount the weather station using the roof trim. The results are better than the original mount. I am able to clear the roof line so that the wind direction isn't altered by the roof. A great alternative to mounting on the roof.

Ambient Weather WS-2902-WC Replacement Wind Cups, WS-1900, WS-2000 and WS-2902 Wireless Weather Station
The cup was simple to install and after doing so I have to wonder if the original was installed properly. It should not have been able to get past the recess in the shaft if the set screw had been installed properly

Well designed, compact and sturdy. Also small enough to carry in a coat pocket. The case fits snuggly and can’t be dropped, because it’s on the same cord as the anomometer
