Started working as soon as the batteries were installed. It's very handy to have a second temp/humidity readout on my weather station.

Easy setup, works well, seems fairly a accurate. The display console could be improved. Its difficult to read from a distance because its too small and there is little contrast between numbers and background of colored sections of the display.

Arrived quickly and was exactly as described

It’s great, delivering real-time weather information at my house and not the airport miles away. We’re coming into the wind and rain storm season, I’ll finally know what’s going on outside my door. I’m not happy there’s no way to disable the WiFi connection - my plan only allows 5 devices and one of those is now permanently filled. Not cool.

Good but not great. Has some improvements over the previous version which I also have (eg, displaying mix/max) but also missing some great features (eg, graphs). Seems overpriced given the missing features

Easy to set up and link with the console. A nice addition to our weather station. As fall is not big lightning season here I have only detected a few strikes.

I have an astronomical observatory about 300’ from my house which is connected to the house via ethernet wiring. I wanted to monitor conditions at the observatory but I couldn’t put sensors out there for my WS-5000 weather station, because they would not reliably connect to the console in the house. This ObserverIP was the perfect solution.

I installed it in the observatory and connected to my ethernet router. It now picks up RF signals from the nearby sensors, and sends the data to Ambient’s cloud servers so I can view it from a browser, or phone/tablet app. It shows up as essentially its own weather station. So when I view the data online, I choose Home or Observatory to see one set of data or the other.

It’s configurable via a built in web server, and has similar options to a console display you’d use with a full weather station. But, the options available in the web server are more limited than the console in my home, and this caused me a bit of an issue.

In my WS-5000 console, I can specify which sensors I want it to track. Since the observatory was at the edge of its range, it would pick up those sensors from time to time and this would add confusing data to the online information pages. But I could easily disable those sensors from the console’s setting page.

The ObserverIP module lacks the ability to specify which sensors you want it to monitor. It will pick up anything within range and track that data. So it continuously picks up one sensor on the 2nd floor of my house, and other home sensors occasionally. So again, this adds confusing extra data to the online info pages for the observatory, but I have no way to eliminate them.

I sent a support message to Ambient regarding this to ask if there was a work-around and got no response. So I knocked a star off due to this issue and lack of support. Otherwise it works great!
