Ambient Weather WS-5000 Ultrasonic Professional Smart Weather Station & Thermo Hygrometer
This is a major upgrade from the competitors product I had previously that relied on moving parts for wind and (accurate) temperature data. The data from this station tracks closely with official nearby measurements. The base is easy on the eyes and the fact that it connects directly to WiFi without an additional piece of hardware makes deployment simple and easy. Integration with PWSWeather means integration with Rachio for hyper-local optimized irrigation. So far so great!

Ambient Weather WS-5000 Ultrasonic Professional Smart Weather Station & Thermo Hygrometer
So far, so good. Basic setup was straightforward. The WIFI setup was a bit of a trial, but eventually worked after rebooting the router and treating it as if it had a hidden SSID.
The measured data parameters are in reasonable agreement with the closest ASOS.

Ambient Weather WH31SM Soil Moisture Sensor for WS-2000, WS-5000 Weather Stations
I'm kind of mixed right now. The setup was easy and the wireless connection has been very stable. I've been experimenting by putting two sensors in the same container about 10 inches apart. When the container is watered, the sensors vary by as much as a 40 percentage points. They eventually reach a similar value once the soil dries out. It's hard to believe that there would be that much difference in the soil in the same container. The other individual sensors have been pretty good. maybe reading a bit on the dry side but they are helpful regardless. It was a great eye opener to learn how recent rainfall has had much less affect on soil moisture than we would have expected.

Ambient Weather WS-5000 Ultrasonic Professional Smart Weather Station & Thermo Hygrometer
ws5000 is an outstanding weather monitor. it was easy to pre instal to check wifi signal and even easier set up outside. so far it seems to be flawless. luckily we had a good rainstorm after a few days to verify the rain gauge and higher than normal winds. rainfall readings were not instantly displayed but after a few minutes the rain gauge started updating with all it’s data. 1.73 “ of rain was well needed. i was impressed with the unit’s wifi signal strength. our home’s exterior is completely steel R panels with the main support framing being steel I beams then conventional 2x6 wood framing on exterior walls and that is completely covered with 3/4 “ plywood. ws5000 is mounted at about 28’ and 5’ above the roof peak. the smaller outdoor monitors are placed inside of the screened in porch, again more steel panels but ALL of my exterior sensors are showing 100% wifi signal strength. maximum line of sight to any one unit is about 30-35 ft. i am very impressed with the ws5000 unit.

Well packaged and easy to set up. I’m just trying to rename the station through Wunderground so the people here in our community can see it on their map. Any suggestions on how to get support from them.

Ambient Weather WS-2801A Advanced Wireless Color Forecast Station with Temperature, Humidity and Barometer
Nice desktop weather monitor. Bought one of these units a couple of years ago and decided to get a second one for another room. Easy setup of outdoor sensor, and both the old and new units automatically found both sensors on different sides of the house.
