I love the information about the various icons

Love it so much!!!!

I simply HAD to find a young person to give this book to for Christmas, because :>I< wanted to read it, too! The title is so compelling that I did not know what to expect. Result: I wept three times. I also had no way of knowing how the story would end. A great read for children of all ages!

Love the book and it is well done.

Beautiful. I just wish the words of Christ were in red, like in the King James.

Always an outstanding calendar, beautiful and informative.

Beautiful

very nice ornament

I purchased this book after seeing the interview with the author on Jonathan Pageau’s YouTube channel. I read this book three times and even purchased as a gift for two of my friends. This book is definitely worth reading.

This book is critical for today's Orthodox and others to read, understand and put into practice! Dr. Jeannie is an amazing author who truly knows her material and gave great thought and prayer to what she says and writes. I highly recommend this book to Orthodox Christians, Catechumens as well as Catholics and Protestants who want to understand the mind of the early church. As a western Christian I never realized how western oriented my phronema was and now much that determined my outlook and behavior. Now I can start to re-orient my mind, thoughts, and prayer into a more Orthodox phronema aligned with the early church Fathers. Thank you Jeannie for enlightening me!

Love the bible, it's great to have an OSB with a sewn binding. I only have one complaint. Many of the headings, articles, book introductions and artwork within each look faded, almost like the printer was running out of toner. This issue isn't present in the text itself or in the notes throughout the text, however it makes the some of the book introductions and articles hard to read. I have a Thomas Nelson hardcover version where all of the intros and articles are dark and it doesn't seem to have this issue. Not really sure if this might be a one off error

Beyond the White Fence takes its readers on a delightful adventure thought the lives of several saints including St. Edith. I had never read about St. Edith and loved learning about a saint who cares for animals. Katie, the main character, is so relatable I was instantly drawn into her adventure. This is a beautiful story that provides an approachable and relatable introduction to saint's lives. I can't wait to share this story with my little one when he is older! I recieved a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The story of kindness that children should learn from with nice illustrations and beautiful rhyming, I liked the lesson of preferring one another in brotherly love

The Cellarer’s Celery is a joyful tale that will draw the reader along as it explores some deep truths of the Christian faith and its practice in the world. First, I want to draw attention to the rhyme and rhythm of the book. Fr. Jeremy Davis’s writing style is so fun and whimsical. The style and language of the book beg for it to be read aloud, which I did several times with my 3-year-old daughter—who also enjoyed the story. Second, the story offers a very simple yet profound lesson on the Christian life. A few things jumped out at me during my repeated readings of this with my daughter: 1) the sower prays nightly for the flourishing of the celery crop. He doesn’t do this because he wants praise, but rather because he loves the cellarer and knows that he enjoys the celery; 2) the sower’s despondency when the celery is destroyed and his concern on how to let the cellarer know is so useful in presenting how we oftentimes face dread when we have to ask forgiveness of another; 3) the cellarer’s response and the imagery of celery as life is simple but so true and helps readers of any age remember that our life here on earth is not meant to be one of ease and comfort, but of struggle and trying. Nevertheless, our life—like celery—is savory and refreshing. I highly recommend this book for anyone with young children as the story and illustrations—by Luke Garrow—are a delight to view and inspect. My daughter was especially fond of finding the cellarer’s mouth as it is hidden in a big beard. Now I’m off to go enjoy a nice stick of celery.

Beautiful.

Wonderful tool for using with the whole family for Christmas advent! Very excited to use it this year. Thank you!

"Beyond the White Fence" by Edith Humphrey is an extraordinary fictional novel about a group of cousins who embark on multiple adventures throughout time visiting various saints. There is suspense, comedy, and lots of fun interactions... not to mention, animals! If your children enjoy the "Magic Treehouse" series, this book is a great step-up in reading difficulty and book length.
This is a fantastic read for a variety of ages - I personally used it as a daily read-aloud for my seven- and nine-year-old sons. My nine-year-old advanced reader would have been absolutely fine to enjoy it on his own, but it clocks in around 200 pages and may be intimidating for early elementary readers. My children ADORE this book, as do I! It was a struggle for all of us to put down at the end of our reading time. We all had happy tears at the end - Ms. Humphrey beautifully summed up what the saints mean in our daily lives, as well as the importance of our Christian struggle. Do not skip the afterword, it is so well-written and speaks straight to the heart. If I had the ability, I would rate this as 4 1/2 stars; it is most certainly a gem.
This is Ms. Humphrey's first children's book, I certainly hope it will not be her last!

Where has this book been in my life? Truly, this book is a fantastic Orthodox apologetic--both a primer on multiple other Christian and pseudo-Christian denominations as well as a clear and concise explanation as to how and why those doctrines differ from the Orthodox teachings.
To be fair, I was a little hesitant when I first started to listen (Audible version) to this book. The title was interesting, but seemed very academic--I feared that this would be beyond my understanding as a lay person and not a seminarian! However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book was accessible to both the lay person, as well as providing the depth of intellectual and spiritual analysis that would attract and interest a more learned scholar. Fr. Damick works through a number of prominent, and less prominent, denominations, and proceeds to give a historical context of the religion, an overview of the main tenets and belief, followed by a concise explanation as to how the faith differs (or in some cases is similar to) Orthodoxy and the teachings of the Apostles and the Church Fathers. I wish that I had found this book sooner, during the time period when we were living away from a large Orthodox community and we attended many children' events at other churches--I would have loved to have been able to better explain our faith in the context others. Similarly, my children attended a Roman Catholic elementary school and my husband and I spent countless hours trying to figure out a way to explain, both to our children as well as our friends from the school, our faith and how we are similar, yet wholly separate from Roman Catholicism. This book, in particular, did a fantastic job of laying out the key distinctions between Orthodoxy and Roman Catholicism in a clear format--easy to understand as well as providing the ability to explain to others.
Additionally, and as a pleasant surprise, I was delighted to find that Fr. Damick's "shout out" to the "Mikes" in the forward included one of the "Mikes" who is a dear friend of our family!
I highly recommend this book, in the Audible version, and I plan to purchase this book in print as well.

This book is outstanding! After purchasing it to use as a supplement to a Sunday School curriculum for 7th and 8th graders on the Saints (the theme is SuperHeroes), I was so overwhelmed with how fantastic it was. Written in an easy-to-understand language, with wonderful illustrations and interesting facts sprinkled throughout, it has been the perfect compliment to our program. The pre-teens we serve are loving it. The organization of the book allows us to highlight specific Saints based on discussion topic or calendar date. I was so thrilled I bought a copy for each of my family members. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Well done! Congratulations to the authors, illustrators, and the team at Ancient Faith. This is an extraordinary addition to our library or resources.

Very readable and interesting, get it.
