Love it use it everyday

Love the prayers!

My daughter reads from it every night before going to sleep, much to my joy.

I havent received the book, but others told me that this books is great

His writings humble me.

I haven't read the entire book; only first 2 chapters but I'm fascinated by what I've read so far! Once again, it would be a wonderful asset to one's personal library or a Church library!

Another 5 star hit! I love listening to the CD on the Divine Liturgy especially on the Sundays when I'm not able to make it to Church. Voices sound like Angels!

5 star for sure! Everyone loved the Orthodox Christmas cards! I'll order more next year! No more commercial cards except for a few non-Orthodox friends.

Awesome book! I didn't realize there were so many Orthodox Saints! Not only did my grandkids learn about some of the saints but I, too, learned! Very well written and very informative! I would recommend all Sunday Schools purchase this book! It would be a great asset to their Church's Library! Even parents should purchase this book for their own personal Library!

Great addition

“St Casilda Brings the Bread” tells the story of the conversion of St. Casilda and her efforts to help Christians in prison. My son loves Kristina’s illustrations and was so excited when the bread hidden in St. Casilda’s skirts turned to red roses! Both my 2 and 4 year olds asked for this to be read again after we finished and they both enjoyed looking at the illustrations on their own.

This is an excellent addition to any home library, liturgy bag, or church school library. I’ll be purchasing copies for my godsons and our church liturgy bags.

My wife and I learned she is pregnant with our first child around the same time that we were making the decision to join the Orthodox Church. While we've had many pregnancy books recommended to us and have read some of them in addition to this one, Fertile Ground quickly became our "required reading", so to speak. Other books (i.e. Expecting Better) may provide more scientific information to help make informed decisions during pregnancy and allay fears rooted to common myths, and there is an important place for that, in addition to regular appointments with an OB. But into the spiritual realm the medical and scientific communities dare not tread, and it is here that Fertile Ground is truly an exceptional guide.

Prior to becoming Orthodox, my wife and I were Protestants and loved the emphasis that our old churches had placed on daily reading and study of Scripture. However, like most low-church Protestants, we saw little-to-no connection between Scripture and our mode of worship. As we've journeyed into Orthodoxy, we've grown to better understand the connection between Scripture and Liturgy; how there is a continuity between the worship of the Old Testament and the worship of the New Testament. And while our inquirer's class was pivotal in helping us grow in this understanding, Fertile Ground ended up adding a whole extra dimension to it that we weren't expecting. By weaving together Scripture, Liturgy, Church Tradition, and Pregnancy, Laura has not only helped us to better understand and experience pregnancy, but to better understand and experience our Faith.

Fertile Ground is a devotional in the truest sense of the word. Laura is helping us, week by week, to walk deeper into a fully-integrated life lived for God. At the same time, there is plenty of practical (a.k.a. scientific/medical) information about pregnancy and birth throughout the book. I say "at the same time," but in reality it's only natural that there should be practical information in a book that captures the fullness of our lived reality. While, as the father, it's difficult for me to say with absolute conviction about anything regarding pregnancy, I will at least offer my opinion for you to take or leave: if you read one book during pregnancy, it ought to be this book.

This is my favorite prayer book. It has helped me as a new convert to learn the frequently repeated prayers and it gives me the organized prayers for the hours.

Love it

I like theb look however the information on each Saint is little.

Wonderful book! Our family loves to read a page each night after our Evening Prayers.

The stunning illustrations and inspiring text show us that all of God's creation, including humans, can live in harmony.

This precious book can help both children and adults to be mindful of the way that all of creation is a reflection of the Creator. The colorful illustrations make this book a treat for the eyes as well as for the soul.

My. new coffee table reference.
