I use this everyday!

Every child should have the opportunity to obtain a copy

Used this book for a recent Bible Study. Highly recommended as a companion to the scriptures.

Currently using this book for conducting a Bible Study.. Excellent companion to the scriptures.

Beautiful!

Amazing yet short all inclusive and informative guide on prayer. Must have book!

Love the bracelet, but the slip knot is already starting to come untied less than a month of wearing it. I'll tie a new knot if I need to, but hopefully others don't have the same problem. Other than that, I love it and it looks great.

Nice colors and design, would be nice to have a fabric backing to protect the threads on the back side.

This book was a great. Well written, and easy to digest. It offers great insight into the beginning steps of dealing with our traumatic experiences. I highly recommend it to others wanting to begin their own journey towards healing.

The wrappers were so easy to use. Much quicker than dye and the finished eggs look gorgeous! My family was impressed. The problem was you can’t peel them! The plastic requires a kitchen scissors to cut through the wrapper. Consequently, no one ate the eggs because it was too much hassle.

I bought this as a gift for a brother after purchasing my own. It’s a beautiful prayer book. I love it.

Beautiful cards! Looking forward to my next purchase.

Great Bible with an excellent commentary, but the pages seem like they are worn and weathered. I give it a 3 of 5 stars since it won't let me change the stars rating.

They were great, just wish the glass fit better in one of them.

I purchased this book last week, and I'm enjoying it so far. I'll come back and update this review if I have anything additional to add when I finish it. Fr Stephen has a real talent for taking complicated concepts and multiple sources, breaking them down, condensing them, and explaining them in a way that is accessible and helpful for the average Christian. This book ultimately shows us how some of the extra-biblical literature can provide a deeper and fuller insight into the old and new testaments, the beliefs held by the Apostles and the Church Fathers, and the traditions that undergird scripture and our own Orthodox Christian liturgics, hymns, and iconography.

In America, many of us have this (wrong) idea for some reason that anything not included in the Canon of scripture is 'heretical' and wrong and bad and should not be read, which is simply not true. While there are, of course, plenty of heretical writings that exist, this isn't new information, the church has always been aware of those writings, and those are not the subject of this book.

'Apocrypha: An Introduction to Extra-Biblical Literature' is an into to, and overview of, books that have been considered good and edifying by the Church for a variety of reasons. Using St Nikephoros' 9th century canon list as a guide, Fr Stephen selects some of the writings which were categorized by St Nikephoros as 'accepted by some and not others' (as scripture!) or as 'to be read in the home', and walks us through them. He provides a brief textual history, discussing versions, translations, and historical reception; summarizes the content and themes in them, and shows us where we see traces of these writings in the new testament and in our worship.

In the case of books which we might be surprised to find in here, such as the non-canonical gospels, Fr Stephen helps us understand the contents and tells us what is known of their origin, where they came from, what about them has been considered edifying by the church, what about them isn't helpful, and why.

This is really an excellent resource for people who wish to learn about or deepen their understanding of the church and the scriptures. It's incredible to have all of this information condensed into one very readable 300-page book. Highly recommended!

It's a fun coffee table book to get brief bios and cool facts on notable saint, entertaining read for all ages
