Upgraded my m4 back in 2011. Really miss the old handguards but couldn't find them. These are just like old times. Love them!

I recieved the rifle damaged. My FFL had already submitted the paperwork before iI noticed the damage to the rifle and they will not do anything for you after the firearm is transferred. Charlies customer service literally responded to my complaint by suggesting I color over all the dents and dings with what amounts to little more than a magic marker on a $2K AR-15. My advice is don't do business here at all but if you absolutely insist please make sure you unbox disassemble and thoroughly inspect the firearm BEFORE you start any paperwork. The FFL will be in a hurry to just get you in and out, collect his fee, and be done with it, but you can't let them do that. Please inspect thoroughly. Also when i bought this rifle the in stock quantity showed 1 I watched it drop from 1 to zero then right back to 1. I'm not suggesting that in stock quantities are a big deal just be aware that they may be trying to trigger impulse buys by making stock seem lower than reality. There is apparently a reason why there is so much bad press on the internet about charlies so buy at your own risk. I will say, to charlies credit, everything would have been fine if I had recieved the rifle in new condition like i paid for. *update* Since charlies felt it was necessary to mention that the rifle came dirty ill address that now. First it was more than "carbon" as they suggest there was brass residue built up on the bolt face and the bore was dirty. Is it the end of the world? No, but it is the dirtiest brand new rifle I've ever bought. Second "Battle rifle" or not I compared it to another factory new LMT and the difference was stark. So spare me your condescending gun store rambo "battle rifle" sermon. I wasn't even making a major case about the rifle being dirty but I guess charlies wants to bring it up here so there ya have it. To characterize the damage as cosmetic scratches is unfair and inaccurate. There are dents big enough to raise burrs that need to be filed down and refinished. Bottom line is i find the concept of fixing a new rifle absurd and I don't think I'm being unreasonable but I guess that's where me and Charlies will just have to disagree. They are right about the LMT'S being great rifles i have several and love them, and I'm sure my experience does not happen often. Please just inspect closely before you do paper work and i think you will have a good experience shopping at charlies, and on that final point I think Charlies and I can agree.

The FSB was so canted to the right it could not be zeroed with irons. I removed the fsb and replaced with lowpro gas block and a KAC ff handguard. I know I could have replaced with Charlie but it would have been nice if QC was a bit better and this would not have been a issue .
Simple solution , insert into upper before shipping to check alignment of FSB .
Other than that barrel as expected .

Best rail I have ever held, fit and finish are perfect. It is definitely an investment, but this rail will last a life time. Don’t waste your time or money on something else.
