The blade is nice and thin profile. The blade could come a little sharper but after a few minutes with a stone it was razor sharp.

Glad you were able to get it into tip top shape!

Kershaw Decimus (1559)
I’ve bought several kershaw knives over the years and although this decimus is a good looking knife and the action is smooth, the sharpness was not there. I’ve bought sharper knives from a flee market. Maybe I got a bad one but right out of the box it needed a good once over to bring the blade up to an acceptable level of sharpness.

Work Sharp Rolling Knife Sharpener (WSKTNRKS)
Only good for half my kitchen knives because of the size and the way it magnetically holds the blades which needs to be completely flat. Also you need to rub « lightly » if not the knife moves.
They show pocket knife on the pictures, it just can not sharpen small or not flat blades.

Spyderco Stok Drop Point (FB50GPOD)
This is an excellent EDC fixed blade knife. I spent a lot of time looking for something suitable and I believe this meets most of my requirements. This knife fits nicely in my front pocket. It is a slim profile with plenty of handle. I added a lanyard with bead for a little extra purchase. I am very happy with this knife and works perfectly as an alternative to a folding knife.

This flipper isn’t very smooth and takes a lot more effort to deploy than expected. I will be sticking with Kershaw in the future.

Sounds like its just a little too tight, you can try loosening the main pivot a little to help release it smoothly. You can email us at service@houseofknives.ca if you need any advice
